Hey can you tell me more about this. Because i thinking of buying a CRT with a VGA port. And my graphics card doesn't have a VGA port. I already have a adapter for it. Will i experience a huge input lag?
Pro tip: when using a HDMI to RCA coverter, don't pick the cheapest one, instead pick the one that has been approved by many other people and reviewers. They may be expensive but its worth the price.
@@yourdad_.. a CRT basically has no processing. it just instantly shoots its electron gun across the screen and produces the image while a led has to process the information it gets over hdmi for example. before it can display it as a whole image. the technology that goes into CRTs is really cool and has been around since the 1930s but in black and white :)
@@yourdad_.. they dont have any processing except for a simple chip that adjusts settings and overlays on top of the video signal, as well as a jungle ic which converts a composite video signal into a rgb signal which the tv circuitry shoots rays from an electron gun at an extremely quick speed. the only latency comes from the delay from the refresh rate as the next frame has to be shown, but of course those cheap adapters will add latency as they need to actually process the digital hdmi signal and convert it into an analog composite one, and cheaper adapters will have lower quality circuity for conversion.
That looks very close to my first tv. I remember playing assassins creed 2, on the 360. My dad walked in, seeing me with my face almost directly on the 10" square screen. He then proceeded to come home the next day with a 22" 720p. I was in heaven 😂
the latency comes from the adapter. a crt tv has around 7ms of latency wich only the latest oleds have been able to reach. same the other way around too. so if you have an old console and you try to play it on a modern tv with that type of adapter you get like half a second latency :/. i recently baught a crt just to play my n64 and xbox classic :) that way you get the truest colour and no aditional latency.
I wonder why people say stuff like “Dose Minecraft run on a CRT” Of course it dose, The PC is doing the work, Not the monitor… Even though I like the past Not gonna lie, this is a good video
Actually, speaking seriously - there are CRT monitors that have 144hz, speaking of which you could greatly shave off the price on the high frequency monitors, but the cons would be that image quality isn't the best, non-standard screen ratio/resolution and most importantly - frying pan for your eyes
Can you view some videos from UA-cam on it since you got it hooked up from your laptop to the crt. I can hook up my pc to my Smart tv but wish I had an crt to try what your doing.

A bit late, but this is a CRT tv so it does not have vga. CRT monitors for the most part do have vga. You can also find HD CRT tvs with HDMI inputs on them.
Get a GTX 980 Ti and a TV with RGB SCART and connect it through an adapter. You need a spectial driver to get 15Khz output through VGA, otherwise it can kill the tube.
There is no way to passively convert a digital HDMI signal to an analog composite signal, u need a specialized signal converter, the problem with these cheap adapters is that they are designed for office work and being cheap, if u want super small delay u will need a good, high end converter, also try to avoid composite, its really bad, u should use RGB or component with these CRTs. For the best analog experience stick with a GPU that has native analog out, the best its the Maxwell Titan X, still somewhat capable in modern games. Another way its to use any analog GPU paired with a modern GPU, in windows 11 u can render a game in one GPU and display in another, this would allow u to use something like a GTX 960 + RX 6000 or RX 7000, the modern GPU does the heavy lifting, the weak one just runs the display.
Mine connects but it shows only in black and white does anyone know how to fix? I have a tv from the same magnavox tv in the video but larger. i also have a mini hdmi to av converter not the one he has in the video, so maybe that??
If that vhs player still works and I do think some of them can record video you just need a blank vhs tape and then you pretty much could record your game play on to that vhs tape
There is actually a way to create an analog\digital hybrid TV. But before I tell you how, I just want to explain the difference between analog and digital TV. We all know that a digital screen is made up of individual pixels, right? but what differentiates this from an analog screen, and what I have heard from the channel Technology Connections, is that analog screen has no individual pixels, but consists of only one pixel, that is the whole screen. This means that the image gets an infinitely softer and more realistic image depth, because the environment we see is analog. As I said earlier, there is a way to get the same analogue quality on a digital TV. A milk-toned plastic filter is placed on the screen itself. This breaks the light from the pixels, in a way that softens the image! I have tested it myself. Feel free to try it yourself! Would be very cool if smartphones and other gadgets, were made with this technology! Thank you for reading this! :-) I like your video!
It’s just another monitor why wouldn’t it work? It has nothing to do with graphics as long as you can see it it will work on any screen if it’s a good one.
The screen looks shaky because the frame rate of the TV does not match the shutter speed of the camera. By the way, there is latency because of all those converters. CRTs typically have no input latency.
