Sorry I missed this when you were live. Thank you for doing what you do. It’s greatly appreciated and noticed. I enjoy the videos, channels and learn a lot. Thank you and God Bless
Thanks Walk. I am sorry I missed the video livestream. As for getting around to thanking those who comment, no worries. I don't expect you to comment on my comments. You are busy and you also put a great deal of time into creating content. I'm trying to put together some videos on my journey from musician to DXing fanatic and I now see just how time consuming your work is. I really enjoyed this format and hope you do some more. Hey, I finally made a contact in Japan when the band conditions were listed as poor. He reported a 57 on my end and he was a solid 59. Not bad for my G90 and a wire antenna! Proof that 20 watts will take you around the world. After trying a number of directions, I have finally found the sweet spot for my antenna. Yhanks again and I really enjoy your channel and the community you've built! 73...Hugh...KN6KNB
Great job Walt. So happy Allison is doing better. Watched much later. Many live streams and friends in Florida in the path. Some put up live cam on youtube ! I tried some radio today but I has high noise floor . 11 meters has bad QSB at times. A friend in NC is still without power and cell phones coming up on 2 weeks. They have solar off grid system. FRS/GMRS and some MURS radios come in very handy. Lots of CB being used as well. The solar weather is part of NOAA as well . 73
Greetings! Since you mentioned Block Island I can chime in that I was there 2-weeks ago and did a POTA activation from the North Light (BI National Wildlife Refuge). An even better location is the West Beach. Go past the BI Transfer Station on West Beach Road, park, and head north about 50 yards for a fantastic open beach location. Enjoy watching the seals. 73, K1AV
Walt - I spent 2 years at uonset Point then home for the US Navy "Antarctica Support Squadron" VX-6 during 1963-1965. We had a great hamn shack at McMurdo Station...a full kilowatt
Hey man, I thought the g90 video was awesome! It's been in the back of my mind that that's what I want to get for my next radio (and first portable radio) because it's good enough for you. And then to know that the g90 is *still* good enough for you makes my decision easy. Thanks and 73, Jeff KF5KWO
I was born and raised in Jacksonville FL. I still have the house there but the wife and I moved two years ago to NC. So in the last two weeks I’ve been hit by Helene in FL and NC and just came through Milton in FL. Very little damage personally in all that but our area in NC got hit really hard. I have Tim’s OCF Dipole. Great antenna.
Walt I have only started after my wife passed away feb21 was busy looking after her which I loved doing. And lucky we had 46years together 20 of those years was whilst I served in the army in Medical corp only foundation here in Adelaide SA only allowed 10watts maximum tried for next step up standard course and exam earlier this year but just can’t get my head around some of the formulas and other stuff as I am not a DIY person.love your videos as they are not over the top will your book be available for overseas like Australia? I have got some ideas from you to try yet like using the telescopic 5.6metre whip I thought I saw you had something about the different whip- lengths for frequencey keep it up we only have to two large amatuer radio stores in Australia and one is closing down there is a lot of smaller companies which you really have to look for so get a lot of my ideas from different UA-cam Videos and from people in radio club
Missed the live stream as didn’t see the notification! But can my $3.99 buy you a couple of clams?? Love the videos and you inspire me to get out there to work /m… if you make it over to the UK, and pop to Portsmouth, I’ll show you my beach location for some nice DX :) 73’s buddy,, de M0DQO
Shame I missed this one. Yeah .. UA-cam income … a pound/dollar per 300-400 views. I get 50k views a month .. do the math! Got to go as my private jet is about to take off to my private island..
Hi Walt the last week i'm experimenting with elevated radials... It makes a real difference.., in my situation., would it a give a extra gain near the sea... ?
I'm still waiting on you to confirm the QRZ log I sent ....lol I know your busy I appreciate all your videos just aggravating you buddy Still waiting on the antenna book though ...73 N9XC
@@COASTALWAVESWIRES that’s great. Thank you. Definitely looking forward to it. Wish Incould get a signed copy, unfortunately won’t make it to the hamfests you mentioned. 73
Hi Walt, I fell asleep 10 mins before the live hi hi. Why do you think there are not more women using the radio? We all know how they love a good chinwag as we say here in the UK. As a new sub to your channel I applaud your use of simple equipment on low power but don't understand why you don't use portable beam antennas eg 10m skypper or moxon etc as be can set up just as quick as a tele whip pole. Topic live chats would be great Walt

I pay the $3.99 because I want to. Love your work and look forward to every video, and I don't think that entitles me to anything ! Thanks Walt.
Sorry I missed the live feed. Helene has me busy with cleanup and then I’ve been sick for a week. But I enjoyed hear other people’s questions.

You should do a “All Things 10 Meters” video. You could cover antennas, propagation, best frequencies to use, modes etc.
Great idea, in the meantime here’s one similar that I did: ua-cam.com/video/yD92cmm-3kQ/v-deo.htmlsi=RC9MtHe6lk8qwuuq
In Tennessee, East and north east got hit bad too.
Sorry I missed your live feed. How about something on 11mtr DX etc.
Looking forward to the book coming out.
Keep up the good work 👍

Just got my G90 yesterday...thanks for your guidance---K5RWT
Does it hurt to shorten the ladder line that's feeding my G5RV ? de K9PDQ.
Yes, it has an affect on the feedpoint impedance match that’s being made by the specific length of ladder line.
