Man I'd recognize Cas anywhere! Though I'm not sure if they changed his name or not but that's what I remember them by. Anywhos, excellent art as always! I just wish I was quicker to grab a slot for a headshot. Oh well, next time maybe. :)
same here! I remeber cass from the good ol days of ifunny! his oc changed but its very much still recognizable, he changed the fact it was a bird however
HOLY HACK I just love your art!!! Your so talented! Your my idol into pushing through my art block, practicing and becoming better and better at my art!!
Can someone please explain how they are shading like that at 5:37? Like I can't work out what's going on there, is it just a white layer with the opacity turned down? (I'm still learning all this digital art stuff aha x3 )
huh that's weird, I wouldn't have gone and deleted the comment so im not sure what happened there ( and sorry for the delay, I dont get notifications for comments that reply to other ones) The method I use is basically "one-layer painting" my shading/lighting on one layer set to "multiply". It keeps things simple and only ever needs tweaking if I'm dealing with an already darkly colored character - since multiply only is able to darken the things underneath. So I pick one base color for the shadow to fill the whole layer, not very saturated depending on the effect I want - and slighlty lighter than medium-dark - so the character's colors dont get too muddled. And I then pick a color for the light, which usually is very close to being as bright as possible on the color-sliders. I check how it looks on the character by painting in big blobs of where the light should be, and if im satisfied with the light/dark - color contrast I'll switch the layer back to "normal" so that I can color pick any of the mixed colors to blend it more freely. Basically "one-layer painting" then. I switch back to the "multiply" setting regularly to check that it still looks ok, and if I want to add extra colors in the lighting.
@@Remarin I know this comment is old, but I'm an aspiring artist, and am very grateful to have found your channel! And thank you so much this helped a lot! I'll be sure to go check out more of your content
Can someone please tell me what is actually going on at the time stamp 1:43 and 1:46 cause it seems to be a type of shading??? Would appreciate any helpful answers =)
Heya one of my previous commenters asked about that method, though my reply seemed to have been deleted somehow? I retyped my answer for the people asking below that comment, but I can just copy paste it here as well :> so here we go: The method I use is basically "one-layer painting" my shading/lighting on one layer set to "multiply". The first one just looks to me like he's about to pop the question," So, you like jazz?" and I think its just the expression and the fact he's wearing a suit and bowtie, lookin' like he's into jazz himself. Lol xD
