  • Treatlife brand smart switches work with Amazon's Alexa, and Google Assistant. This is a solid switch that is easy to wire with good instructions.

How do you differentiate between fan and line. Because both are black, but I only have one black wire.

I really would have to take a look at it, but if you only have one black wire coming into your box, your line might be going directly to your ceiling box.

I’m looking to buy a new fan, it has a remote to control it. Does that mean that this switch won’t work with this or that the remote will become useless after installing this switch?

Possibly both, depending on whether you can bypass the remote module...but yes, that would render the remote useless if you bypass it. Your phone would then become your remote. They advertise that it won't work with a remote, so proceed with caution.

So the thing is, when I open my junction box, I see two wires (line and load I think, black and red) (no ground), and a neutral wire. I connect it, (connected both the fan load and light load together because I don’t have separate wires for some reason), the greatlife thing works and turns on, but my fan and lights don’t. When I press it (either fan or light) both of them turn on, and then turn off a second later. I don’t know what I did wrong (most likely, the separate fan and light loads), but also could be, (the line wire carry’s from one switch to my fan switch (so goes through another box because there is only one box), but for some reason, on the other switch, the top on connects to neutral for some reason.

First off, you don't have any ground running into your box? That is a red flag that you need to run some new wire. If you don't have separate wires to control the fan and the light separately, then they will share control (not ideal). I have more videos coming out soon that might help.
