    Thank you! I couldn’t find anywhere on the internet how the physical controls actually worked, great demonstration, heading over to Amazon to get a couple of them now.

    Thank you this helped me a lot!!!! That red wire was never wired up on my fan either and now it makes sense as to why the fan and light worked on switch when there are two side by side in this bedroom.

    Thank you so much! Just spent half my day trying to figure this out. Switching the blue to the red and switching the light load to the red wire at the switch did the trick.

    Awesome review! I ordered this switch last week and I'm bummed that it's been stuck in California all week and hasn't moved yet. Hopefully I get it soon.

    Hi Friend, hey I bought the dame switch but i only have one load wire going to the fan and light of the fan.. so it seems like I'm missing the wire to correctly wired the switch..
    I have a "live/line" coming from below to the right of the junction box (black wire) and also an other black wire coming from below on the left of the junction box, this two seem to go together than I have one load black wire coming from above to supply power the the fan. And Of course I have the neutral and ground wires..
    My fans have the pull chain to turn on and also the lights has its own chins.. any recommendations on what I need to do to make it work..? Do I need to add a wire if so would the mean that I would need to hire an electrician? Thank you

      sorry for the delay. I wasn't getting notices about comments. Your wiring probably doesn't have the extra wire there to control the fan via the switch... only the light part would work in that case.

    Can’t seem to find the fan load wire from my old switch box. Any suggestion as to where to connect it?

    • @hsnowdenjr
      @hsnowdenjr 3 роки тому +1

      If you only had a single light switch controlling the fan to begin with, the odds are the electricians that wired the house only wired it for single switch operation. There won't be a fan load wire.

    Hi. My fan/light switch is a single manual wall switch with 2 sliders, one for the fan, one for the light. When I removed the switch from the wall there was only a single load wire for both. Is there a way to wire this treatlife switch for this setup?

    • @noisedoctor
      @noisedoctor  Рік тому

      how did your old sliders control light and fan separately with only one wire to the ceiling? there must have been a second wire there.

    Any idea what I'm missing here ? I've got - at the switch- yellow(fan load) connected to Line, incoming power, and black wire on my fan. Red wire (lighting load) connected to blue wire on the fan. Neutral to neutrals in the switch box and ground to ground.
    I got the light working properly but fan is not being powered by the switch at all. Only turns on and changes speed via pull chain.

      I ran 14/3 from the switch to the fan. Do i need to add an additional line for the fan and or light? Looking at other switches and fixtures in the house they have two sets of 14/2 Romex ran to the manual style dimmer switches.

    • @noisedoctor
      @noisedoctor  2 роки тому

      @@MrDmann22 there has to be a separate line for the fan separate from the light. Its been a while but from the box to the fan box should be: ground, black, white, and red. sounds like you have it. did you try sending a photo to Treatlife support? they are usually pretty responsive. oh, and... make sure you pull the chain so it's at high speed, then control it with the switch.

  • @Mystery02789

    • @noisedoctor
      @noisedoctor  2 роки тому

      sorry for the delay. I wasn't getting notices about comments. did you try changing the speed of the fan itself (pulling the chain)? maybe its on a low setting and the switch doesn't give enough voltage? maybe having the fan (chain control) set on high might help?

    Would anyone know the Dimensions of the front control area?
    great review; confirmed a need to upgrade; amazon currently has a $6 coupon
    Q: I currently have a Emerson SW90W Dual Slide Control (1.75" Width x 4.3" Length x 2" Depth) in a faceplate with two other light switches; wondering if this Treatlife switch would fit the same cutout as the Emerson, or would I cut out area from the current faceplate to fit the Treatlife. Not finding the Treatlife Dimensions anywhere

    Can you click the up-downs buttons without first double-click the fan or light button first?
    Does it control anything?

    • @noisedoctor
      @noisedoctor  Рік тому

      pretty sure you have to click fan or light first for the up/down to know which you are controlling. It probably remembers the last one you clicked. we rarely touch the up/down, as we have the light on full most times and the fan is set on timer.

    So I got the switch and installed it and it works fine. I successfully added it to my smart life app and got the same thing you showed in the video. My issue is that when I linked it to Google and Alexa they both only picked up the fan. I removed it from smartlife and linked it again and named it lights, but it still did the same thing. Any feedback on this is appreciated.

      Same issue between Alexa and Smart Life - only recognizes the main switch, not the Fan and Light components.

    If your fan already has the remote control, do you have to remove that control box before installing?

    • @TruthFilledLies
      @TruthFilledLies 2 роки тому

      Depends on what the remotes manual says. My fan remote said using this wall control and the remote would likely cause problems for the remote.

    • @noisedoctor
      @noisedoctor  2 роки тому

      sorry for the delay. I would expect that you can't use the remote control with the smart switch. but I could be wrong

  • @BobbieTheTechGuy
    @BobbieTheTechGuy 7 місяців тому

    10:10 You probably forgot to set the string to high so that remote control takes over, which as always, you’d want to set the fan all the way to the fastest speed on the string, and the light turned on from the string first before you install any remote control device on it, Also that’s how I’m willing to control my fan in my apartment, in fact the management actually agreed with it.

    Did your red wire "light" wire had power or how does it transfer power to the light?
