    My headcanon is that the Doctor not only forced Sutekh to undo all the deaths he caused in these last two episodes, but also all the deaths he caused in "Pyramids of Mars". I think somewhere in time, the Scarman brothers woke up from a terrible nightmare.

    This climax makes me tear up every time. Seeing Sutekh gift of death reversed, The Doctor's victory speech to Sutekh, Murray Gold's amazing music during the scene and how satisfying it was seeing Sutekh meet his demise the way he was supposed to nearly 50 years ago after everything he had done.

    “ Sutekh the Destroyer! The Lord God of Death itself! You win! Because I pride myself... I pride myself that I am better than you. Because if you're death... then I must represent life. Surely, that's what I am life! And that's how you win, Sutekh. Because you've turned me into this. I am the one that brings death. “

      @GREATRJ1 Місяць тому +12

      @@mattsgrayzone Not really. The Toymaker has always done or at least allowed cheating as far back as his first story in the form of 'rule bending.' Yet at the same time it isn't because you never stated it in the rules. For example a Pawn in Chess can only take pieces diagonally. Now what I didn't mention is the range is limited to one space because that's just what everyone knows, the Toymaker can bend that to be an unlimited range. Plus the Giggle was one big destroying of a character who has been very consistent in the expanded media. They even changed his rules so the Doctor could win when in the expanded media the Doctor still won even with those almost impossible to win against rules if you won or lost.

    It is such a great twist. The Doctor brought death to the universe so Death can die. Thus, he represents Life in a way that he's pretty much Death. Since Sutekh was the one who made the Doctor that way, Sutekh wins. Sutekh may have lost the war physically, but when it came to the mind. Sutekh completely won.

    I did expect Sutekh to do more but I'm glad he didn't, I'd rather not have him be completely destroyed by Russell like Russell did the Toymaker, he needs to leave the Toymaker alone, he isn't doing him any favours by expanding upon his lore currently, not saying he can't write the Toymaker, but there are other people out there more qualified to write the Toymaker and understand him and his rules way better than Russell based on how he wrote him in the Giggle. There are a few plot holes though with Sutekh, why does he care so much about Ruby's mother? I mean yeah it's there so they can survive but even then there are other ways to keep them alive and still defeat Sutekh. Sutekh should have just killed Ruby, Mel and the Doctor the instant he had chance to, he wouldn't really care about the mystery. And why didn't he just let go of the Vortex? And how does death to the dead bring life? And he's a god, he should be able destroy the cord carrying him in like a trillion different ways. I don't believe he's dead though, merely just dematerialised. He is suspected to be the Devil so a firey dematerialisation would make a lot of sense.
    Another thing though that I have noticed with Russell and his returning characters from the classic era for new stories in Disney Who. He said everything is canon when in both this season finale and the Giggle, he basically retconned all of the Toymaker's and Sutekh's expanded media. The Toymaker is much more easy to work, Sutekh not so much as the Doctor and Sutekh have met I'm pretty sure multiple times in the expanded media after the Pyramids Of Mars.

    • @matthewhibbitt5399
      @matthewhibbitt5399 Місяць тому +1

      Technically the Toymaker isn't actually dead, he's trapped in that box near the end of the Episode with David Tennent, so they may actually bring him back at some point, at least that's what I believe, like the Toymaker said about The Master, he lost and trapped The Master in his gold tooth, in which you see it being taken away by someone after The Doctors defeat the Toymaker, so it only makes sense that they may bring not only The Master back, but possibly the Toymaker as well, same with the Maestro, they are only trapped, and now that Sutekh is dead, I also believe that there will be an episode where the gods will fight for the top spot as there is a power vacuum now, at least that's my theory.

    • @GREATRJ1
      @GREATRJ1 Місяць тому +1

      @@matthewhibbitt5399 I never said the Toymaker was dead. I personally just consider the Toymaker from before the Giggle released and the Toymaker in the Giggle and after two completely different characters, split them and actually look at them in their respectives era's, (classic in his first 4 episodes and expanded media, and modern in the giggle and the giggle's novelisation) they are pretty much just different characters entirely. One thrives on games, is calm, understated, calculating, always in control, and wins whether he loses or wins. The other is almost scared to play games, (You know, the entire reason he even plays games is because he used to create stuff for a universe, got bored of that so destroyed it all, and found both that destruction and creation meaningless so went to the destruction of games to find meaning in destroying his opponents.) He's a showman, playful and he's always at risk of losing, whether he wins or loses. Those are just some basic beats, I have an entire script for a video I may or may not make surronding the Toymaker.
      I find it ashame since throughout the expanded media the Toymaker was one of the most consistent characters and there was very few times he was portrayed wrong. The Nightmare Fair novel is a novel I suggest going through, it almost perfectly portrays the Toymaker. He is calculating, threatening, calm, in control, he very much is the Toymaker we knew all the way back in the 60s and even expands upon a one off line about the Toymaker asking the Doctor to become his servant, introducing the Toymaker's servant, Stefan.
      And yeah, the Toymaker would never in a million years join the Pantheon. If he did he would play every member in it until they were all in his toy house, if your gonna have him be part of a group have be part of something he already is part of. The Toymaker's. It is established in the Celestial Toymaker novelisation there are multiple Toymaker Gods in the universe. Have him be the leader of that. I personally headcanon that the Celestial Toymaker is the leader of all the Toymakers and Neil Patrick Harris' Toymaker is just one of the Toymaker's under his command.
      I would also suggest going through the original Toymaker story. Loose Canon's reconstructions of the episodes are easily findable on DailyMotion, it takes a quick google search and bam you have them. I'd suggest watching it without tieing it to the Giggle. I think you can agree he is very different.
      Sorry that got a bit extensive. I could go on for hours about what Russell did wrong about the Toymaker, trust me it gets down to even the smallest details like how his powers work. Originally he literary controlled reality, now he only controls atoms, which brings the plot hole of how he can even create a pocket-universe if a universe includes dark matter and dark energy, to which one of them is almost certainly not made of atoms.

      @93Chowo Місяць тому

      I think the difference is that Sutekh once was an Osirian which was a mighty alien-race but he evolved into something stronger (in his eyes a god). The Toymaker for example is a being which was god-like since he came into existence. Sutekh´s gift of death was a big threat but without the TARDIS who let him spread his dust everywhere in time and space he wouldn´t have been as dangerous like the Toymaker who could simply jump between centuries as seen in The Giggle.
