Lost a huge library of materials because Adobe could not transfer them to my new (adobe) account during the whole account switch. The reason was: you need to pay, and we will transfer. Thanks ADOBE, I will never forget that.
yup. me too. I don’t have access to thousands of material points I had because I don’t continue to subscribe. I’m using the steam version of substance so I don’t have to install the bloatware that is adobe cc. But that locks us out of our long collected points. I don’t allow adobe on any of my machines any more in part due to that.

How can I make the image textures files to automatically save in a different path than my blender files. I want all my textures folder to be on a different folder than my blender file
My antivirus blocked the instalation of the integrator app, says something about substance remote engine file has a IDP.generic Threath.. Why is that? also I have Adobe Account. Will apreciate your help
The Substance Connector is still in beta if I recall. However, it's still Ok to check out and use. It's in the Beta apps in the Creative Cloud Desktop app. However, you do need the plugin with Connector. Connector in Sampler will send the SBSAR directly to Blender and the Substance material Add-on. The Connector route is good if you are using Sampler to create materials and want to send directly to Blender without manually exporting and Importing.
I'm trying to install the addon on blender 4.1, the initial addon goes in fine and i can turn it on, but when i try to install the integration tools, i get an error. Would it be at all possible for you guys to merge the two files into one addon?
Hi there! If you need any advice on that, come on down to the Forum & ask our experts about it. Let’s have a conversation here: [adobe.ly/3VComDC] ^Rohan
I believe this happens due to license issues. The main add-on is free and open source. Whereas the integration tool is proprietary and paid. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
@@Substance3D Pretty much same here with version 4.2: the main (small) addon works fine, the integration tools fail to get installed and gives this error: Substance 3D in Blender: [Code_Response.toolkit_not_running] Error while installing the Substance 3D Integration Tools. Umm, I guess I've sorted the problem (guess, you has done so either). In my case Integration tools landed initially into a system folder with non-Latin symbols in its name, and it appears SRE disapproves. Once I've set the path to a folder with a short-n-easy name with Latin only, it worked like a charm
Thank you much. I don't think they have a material preview yet. I will check to see if they have this on the roadmap and suggest it as a feature request.
Does anyone else have an issue with applying textures through geo nodes? I can apply them to the model once before it seems to lock itself off and stops receiving the renders from the substance integration tool. Anyone else?
I was hoping for this video to be able to explain how to translate the new translucency maps into Blender in order to make translucent surfaces to actually look like inside Substance Painter. Would you make a video about that too please?
Some material libraries have hundreds of substance materials (woods, metals, bricks, walls, etc), but is there a way to import the SBSARs as assets? I use blender, so maybe that's a question for them. I recently became aware of the quality of these materials and it's a shame there's no way to easily get them into blender to use other than one by one on an object.
You can save the asset with the sbsar file applied as a Blender Asset. Make sure in the Substance Addon Preferences, you enable relative path, then you need to mark the object with the substance material applied as an asset, and save the blend file to the asset library location.
Thanks for replying. That is one by one. I did notice you can load many materials at once into the substance panel and have a list to pick and apply to objects. To my original point, it would be great, especially in blender's wonky asset manager workflow, if those materials in the list could be dragged into a folder/unassigned in the asset manager, then mark asset, etc. There are probably a number of technical ramifications to that, but would be nice to be able to utilize them faster when libraries may have hundreds or thousands of substance materials.@@wes.mcdermott

I saw that, too. And then it turned into a blue version of my material. Maybe you figured out how to get around it. What I did was go to the shader editor and tab-open the substance group. Then all the material settings/colors came back. I also noticed that I have to save the file to see changes in resolution. I'm on b4.1 so that could be a bug being worked on. Update on that bug: Just having the shader editor open seems to address some of the resolution refresh bugs, but it'll eventually break again and you need to resave the file.
Great to see continued updates. Still no in-app previews of the substances though.
