      I came from Layer Painter and believe me, Ucu was a breath of fresh air, by comparison. It's got some growing pains, sure, but what you get for the ever so sweet low price of free, it's just unbelievable. (And it crashes a helluva lot less, too.)

      Why they didn't make layers from beginning? Its so obvious when you try to make compound material. As if developers never tried to make such material, they just making default cubes and adding one single texture.

      For painting having layers, it's clearly night and day, node was powerfull for advance PBR feature and keep the control but as a material mixer, it's alway painfull to use.

      @@ZalvaTionZ i think multi layers nodes mode is working in Blender, but only for compositing, im not sure if this could be avaible for material , again it's possible to stack multi layers of materials with node editor but it's painfull to use...

    The node material editor have already everything, the only problem is to make a fancy layer interface that can make the same in painting mode, i already make a material mixer , by painting in different level of grey or even with a kind of cryptomatte in Color , Can changing material with painting , but it's not as fast as substance, even if it performe and replicate well in Blender with some trick.

    I think you should stop blender to do everything. Armor paint is an open-source software that completely look like substance painter and is fully optimised for such work. It just cost 15$ to access fully textured workflow. The cool thing is that it directly read blender file instead of exporting to obj/fbx.
    Why people are wasting their time in making addons like Has paint, Ucupaint and others. Because at the end you can't change the black and white UI of blender and can't optimised it to texturing program. I think people should use Armor paint actively and support the developer because it work with native blender file so the connection will be seamless. You should also make video about it.

    • @containedhurricane
      @containedhurricane 19 днів тому +1

      Armor Paint doesn't have a projection texturing system like Zbrush's Spotlight and the forum/ software development seem pretty inactive. Blender has this feature, but the texturing performance is lame

    Addons, addons, addons... My god, Blender have nice built-in features for years, (before 2.8, before any paid substance trash, etc) like nodes for make any combination of layers and more, or like custom textures for make any brush what you need.
    Peoples dont want teach the basics and seek for silver bullets like adobe soft, newer versions, pluguns, etc.

      hi, thanks for sharing your opinion but would've been a bit better if you check out the channel's other videos before commenting negative stuff, i've done many texturing videos from manually painting all the way to baking everything inside blender without using any additional addons, addons are here to make our lives easier and our project faster to compelete, eveything i showed on this video is free so theres no reason to hate, and funny thing is that when i make video without using any addons there are always some people sayin "why are you wasting time just use THIS addon" so its getting hate no matter what lol

    • @Juno006
      @Juno006 16 днів тому +1

      You seem to have no value for your time huh, what's the difference between using an addon or doing everything manually if you're going to arrive at the same result? with that mentality you might as well discard every other thing humans have created that ease and speed up otherwise arduous and time intensive tasks...brother move on if you've got nothing constructive to say and go spend your time messing with noodles in the node graph, also what do you mean "people don't want to teach the basics"? There's literally lots of texturing tutorials on his channel 💀 smh

    Could never achieve the workflow you could get in substance. By the way the proceduralism , should be as Mari, blending a more light version using layers instead nodes.. they could follow the ideas of geonodes, but, it's more complicated noverall, best Substance for this kind of material creation, and since the software is developed to do that, Blender is a sort of open source 3d Software... I really would like to see after 20/30 levels if still not crashing!
