Looks like his ranges were only tighter because the players at the table were super tight. Still making plenty of mistakes and not taking advantage of his image. AQs is at the top of Rampages range, these tight players are 4-betting him because they know he's 3-betting with mostly trash. Then still folds these playable hands. He should be calling instead of 3-betting the really good suited Ace hands, he folded away so much equity.
I disagree with anyone who thinks this is bad poker. After watching your implosion over the last few months, it's refreshing to see some disciplined play. Whether or not the AQs and A10s hands would have hit the flop is irrelevant. Your rationalization of the situation is correct. Calling those 4 bets to see a flop with the stack sizes may cost you some money in the short term, but when/if those players watch these videos and see what you are folding there will open up bigger potential in the future. All you are doing is building your image back up to keep people guessing. Good poker in my opinion.
lol..there's a difference between using logic versus "rationalization". Rampage does NOT use logic in his decision making. He rationalizes every play he makes and judges his play based on results. He said it himself - he's never folded AQ suited preflop in his life. Clearly there is no logic going into his decision making if that's the case. Of course he must fold to the 4-bet raising out of position with the AQ, but did he actually think out why? He has an A blocker and Q blocker, so there are 12 combinations of AK beating him, 3 combinations of AA, 6 combinations of KK, and 3 combinations of QQ, and everything else is either a chop, or a coinflip or better for Rampage. Therefore there are a total of 24 combinations of hands beating him, and really only JJ,1010 and maybe 99 he's beating (18 combinations) and you discount this number because the opponent is a nit and also 4 betting out of position. Easy fold. But Rampage has NEVER folded AQ in his life, so how many times has he made this call? So bad. Every decent poker player knows that AQ suited is an ok hand but definitely not a premium hand. Rampage plays it like the nuts 99.99% of the time.
@@RobRochonI agree with everything you said but you really don’t believe AQ suited is a premium.. I understand there are definitely better hands.. but there has to be some factor of implied odds with them being suited.
@@Iamabot2119 Premium hands are defined as AA, KK, QQ and AK. Sometimes JJ but not really. But AQ is dominated by all four of these hands, and especially by AK. If you have AQ you need to know that there are 12 combinations of AK dominating you along with 3 combinations of AA, and 9 combinations of KK and QQ putting you in terrible shape. Also note that there are also another 9 combinations of AQ chopping with you. So if you are in a 4 or 5 bet pot with AQ what hands are you ahead of preflop? You need an extremely fortunate flop to hit to be ahead of any of the other "premium" hands, and if you're in a hand with AA or AK and an A hits the board if the hand is played agrressively you get crushed, and if the hand is played passively then what's the point of playing AQ? To win small pots? AQ is no stronger than AJ...at least with AJ you're more likely to flop something strong against the real premium hands (because Js are more likely in play if you triple up on them) than with AQ which is nothing but trouble no matter what comes on the flop. But if you NEVER fold AQ preflop and play it like a premium hand in 4 bet and 5 bet preflop pots then you are a losing player. Always. Like Rampage.
@@RobRochon if someone is 4 or 5 betting definitely not but I play it like I would a mid pocket pair.. a call and would call a 3 bet and then play a flop… but I often play AK off this way too.
@@Iamabot2119 yes, if you play it like a mid-pocket. But you asked why its not a premium hand. Mid pockets aren't premiums either. You likely play it more correctly than he does and may balance out your play with aggressiveness at opportune times. But Rampage plays it like he does AK, QQ or KK.
You gotta pick the right times for these public games. They're not like your live stream games where there's always 2-3 recs. I'd try to start your sessions after midnight and do graveyard shifts. Usually more gambl-y games at that time
Right 😅.. those are easy folds … especially when you have certain people tagged as Nits… why would you want to give them action when you know your certainly behind
Professionals can also Fold KK preflop. AND SURE AK, and QQ are easy folds pre when im sure that im behind. this luckbox can only win when he has more luck then the other players.
I don't know if you do it for content or what, but AQ suited isn't just a 100% 3-bet. It's ok to call and take a flop some percentage of a time, like the last hand where you face a UTG raise on a tight table. Calling instead of raising in the hands where you got four bet would most likely decrease the size of that four bet and allow you to peel a certain percentage of the time. Calling also will disguise the strength of your hand/limit information to other players if you manage to smash the flop. Although, I would venture it's extremely difficult for anyone to put you on a range of hands. A/10 suited is definitely not mandatory squeeze time.
I very seldom comment because I do love poker but as a novice player, I have no doubt in my military mind you will make it. Steady you go and you will make it and that come from an retired Air Force man. I do watch all your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Couple of things Rampage. A9 hand 8:39.....a simple check back on the river saves you. You might attribute this river bet to your down swing. Also...in the AQ hand - you had already suspected good strength from your opponent given your history read of his play. Simply call his raise and assess at the flop. AQ is like the death knell of all poker hands. You are not going to recover the whole of your downswing in a mere few sessions.
Rampage idk if you looked at the comments and listened but im glad that you are playing smart now and not tilt/tournament play. keep this up and your bound to win. thanks for the content
Let’s go Rampage! You making smile. You’re finally playing poker and not acting like your trying out for the Las Vegas Raiders special teams (Punter) 🏈. I’m not gonna lie it was getting tough to watch for min but now I’m back rejuvenating!!! LFG road to a million!
People.. he's purposefully taking losses so the IRS doesn't get into his a$$ anymore.. This dude knows exactly what he is doing.. don t be fanboys and believe everything you see
9:45 Yes, you were too much in your own head overthinking what your opponent has. You called his raise because of position. So you are repping High Premium hands. When that flop hits K Q Q, YOU BET!! It's doubtful he calls. If he does call, you can decide to slow down on the turn or BET again! The J on the turn is good for your range, so you should bet. No way he calls. On the off chance he does then at that point you can assess what he may have. Not before. If you're going to make a play on position raising or calling, then follow thru
Played like your old self again. Great playing even though was a small loss. You were running so well for a long time and that had a lot to do with how you played when it started going south. You are def a stop tier player that’s a fact! Keep this play up
I started chuckling when you said “I’m gonna get a little spicy right off the bat”. Deja vu. Why do you love punting, and starting the night off chasing your money?

I think the only move that Ethan is consistently making that I think leads to more losses is 3 betting or 4 betting on the weaker side pre flop. I understand that sneaking in a 3 bet or 4 bet light keeps your range balanced, but at the end of the day there is a reason some hands aren’t typically 3 bet or 4 bet. When those hands miss it’s almost impossible to call and you can get milked if people are making small value bets when it could’ve been a smaller flop where you could get away more cheaply if you miss
8:36 You're the pro, but I would have checked back. The only hand you can really beat is a Kx hand and as played, it just seems like he had a solid A or slightly better. Or am I wrong?
Had the same situation this week at MGM. Only playing 1-2 of course, but decided to play during the day when everyone is just playing to hit the hourly high hand and other than that, folding. KK ran into AA TWICE and I paid both off unfortunately.

I agree accept for the first hand that was the best hes played in the last couple of months
But still not far away from a pokerstyle that he can get a even player or winning player.
@@chrisjackson3955 eh the A2 hand wasn't horrible he could reasonably have AK there but he just ran into it
Bit too aggressive on the first few hands??? But otherwise solid 😊
The opponents range was pretty much all AK though
