Hey Brad, just wanted to let you know I played my first ever live poker games at the Aria this week (1/3 NLHE), and I walked away with a $280 profit from a $300 buy-in. Obviously not the numbers you’re working with, but I’ve basically learned everything from your videos and wanted to share. You make the game approachable and easy to understand, and I wouldn’t have had the courage to even try to play if it weren’t for you. Thanks for the videos and community!
"Oh, then thank you." After he folds the deuces, Ethan knew you weren't supposed to be playing that aggressively there and he was thankful for the subscriber ROI.
This is a special Friday vlog due to this Black Friday 25 Golden Passport giveaway. I have details at the end and in the description box below. Good luck guys.
Happy thanksgiving Brad. Long time viewer and was introduced to poker by you as 20 year old almost five years ago. Wouldn’t even know how much I enjoy poker if it wasn’t for you so thank you!
brad that call on the river with 5 3 of diamonds you yourself said the 2 high cards a and q are accounted reducing the possibilities of flush over flush someone that was a pure check raise cant be scared of momsters under the bed
He did explain his thought process on the river, FWIW. What happens if I face a big three-bet, and will worse call? Unfortunately, in this case, I think worse would have called.
@@kennethchia4194Clear raise-fold spot if you think villain is incapable of 3-bet bluffing river which many are. If villain is capable just raise-call, there's so few flush combos
It was an interesting spot. The solver says with small flushes on the river we're supposed to check-raise but AA is then supposed to be a fold half of the time and QQ is supposed to fold almost 72% of the time. Very few worse hands he'd play that way are supposed to call a check-raise on the river other than KTs and then JJ calls almost pure and AJo with the Jd - even though these are worse hands than the AA and QQ, they have better properties to make calling more profitable (apparently). AQ however, is supposed to fold about 67% of the time. With all that being said, I think people often call more often than the solver suggests when they have a set or other strong two pair combos. I never have a session in which I leave saying to myself, "I played perfectly." I enjoy looking up these spots, learning, and trying to be better the next time out.
Happy Thanksgiving, Brad! I've been watching now for about two years and I thoroughly enjoy your channel. Keep it up, and thanks for dropping all the VLOGS when I'm headed to lunch.
Set up by the govt. just like Covid. But we took it down. Too big to rig!!! If you don’t believe Jan. 6th was set up look into Ray Epps, and why did Nancy Pelosi deny Trumps 10,000 military members he was going to send? 🇺🇸Trump2024🇺🇸.
Brad sometimes makes these subtle political statements. But honestly, I don't really care. He's a good poker player and not an uber political radical. Also, it doesn't matter, Trump won, and so did out country. Now if we could just vote out the rest of the commie left, it would be perfect.
@@Caspergomezzdisagree. Sometimes you just make a good fold when you take the information given. How often is Brad bluffing into that size on the river, on “that” board. It’s a hard fold, but a very disciplined fold.
Brad, when your opponent looks at his first card and says "phenomenal card" I think you were correct in thinking it's rarely a ten, but that card is extremely likely an Ace from my experience when people say that. Then when he's able to call turn and min-raise river you can pretty much deduce his hand to be AJ or rarely AA. Obviously it was just a fun hand with interesting dynamics at play, but let me know what you think. Great video.
Honestly I think the opponent may have secretly peeked at his cards and nobody noticed somehow (of course I lied Phil!) Seems a little suspect to me that his “completely random” hand just so happens to be as strong as AJ. Seen this more than once before, someone says they “didn’t look” they just happen to be in top 10% of starting hands.

@Bradowenpoker , I have learned a ton from just watching your videos, and have picked up most of the nomenclature used in your vlogs, however think it would a good watch if you did a video on the dictionary of poker, like what are straddles, in position, etc. i know it's probably in books, but the excellent way you do your videos would make it easy for observers outside of poker to get it.
Happy thanksgiving Brad! I now have a video to watch while eating reheated thanksgiving meal from yesterday!! Looking forward to HOPEFULLY getting the golden passport! 🤞
First of all I was quite a bit confused about the title of the clip, because drilling is the german expression for Trips🤣. but anyway, I enjoy your videos very much.
16:15 why did he fold the 9? He was losing to Jacks and pocket 6’s, he was so good there. You coulda been check raising a 6 or a 9 or a backdoor flush or just bluffing. Anyway, good fold I guess
I think it was just one of those spots where Brad is literally never bluffing, or raising with anything worse than a 9. So the opponent has 2 outcomes if he calls: chop or lose. Really is a great fold, and a tough one to make.
@@slimboyardee8047 yeah, I mean it ain’t easy. But it’s one of those spots where you’d have to ask 1: what is Brad bluffing with? (a 6 would almost certainly just call, a flush might make a crying call, so we’re kinda narrowing it down to total air) and 2: If Brad is bluffing with total air, what is he trying to make fold. Mayyybe he could be running the bluff of the century trying to make a 6 or a flush fold, but it would be such a suicidal play when you’ve shown so much strength on a board this boat heavy. This is kind of only a fold that can be made when you know your opponent is a thoughtful player. If some drunk at 1-2 pulls this move, I think you probably need to call with a 9 (even though you’ll still lose/chop a fair bit
Hi Brad Can you make a video where you instead of cutting away the times where you are running cold, instead just shows the hands in fastfarward so we get a fealing for how many hands you don't play on a session? /M
Hitting a Royal Flush with AQ vs AK last video on the river, Ace on the river with AK vs KK, and a flush on the river with 53 vs AA, and Jack on the river against 9966 with the other player holding a 9. I think your luck is just beginning, or about to end, lol.

Concerning that diamond flush win at 23:12, having a couple of diamonds show on the board shouldn't make you feel THAT much better. About 5-6 years ago I was playing with a group of friends in a small tournament (7 players). We had all bought in for $25 to get 10,000 in chips. On the very first hand, I had Ace-7 of hearts. The flop was all hearts. The guy to my right went all-in. I went all-in, and the final player to act also went all-in. The player to my right turned over two hearts, the other player had two hearts with the king. I knocked two players out with my ace high flush on the first hand. In our previous tournament, I came in second to the guy who had the king high flush when the positions were reversed on the final hand. I had a king high flush and he had an ace high flush.
The guy who folded 9s full is a winning player. Those kinds of folds are insane. He only loses to 3 hands and still lays it down

J9
Three hands, but point taken. I don't think I could find that fold.

@@runningrock124 @kennethchia4194 I forgot about J9
