If you don't have a steamer, you can use a tea kettle or anything that creates steam. You could even just boil water on the stove and hold the hat over it, doing your best to focus on the brim area.
Just did this. Worked perfect. Used the boiling water in pot method. Held brim over pot with tongs lol you won’t see steam but the hat definitely takes on the heat and moist and becomes very pliable. Thx for the solid to the point demo
I've occasionally worn 59FIFTYs over the year and I've just tried this method and I'm in utter disbelief to how good this works. Have some Supreme ones and Yankees hat that now look perfect! Thank you good lad
I didn’t have a steamer so I had to get creative lol I got a pot, filled it with water and let it come to a boil. Held the hat over the steam and followed the rest of the steps 👌🏽
I watched this vid and was like "that's easy" and as other posters have said, totally saved me time vs some other vids telling stories. Thanks Lids and Thanks Proffitt.
He's actually not wrong with the whole thermos or yeti water bottle thing. If you've got a bigger head like me go for that and it will actually hold the curve for your head better rather than loosing it's shape when you stick it on your head or worse have it poking you in the head while wearing it giving you a headache in your sinuses. Hope this helps
If you don’t have a steamer, just boil some hot water and hold the cap above the boiling steam of water for 30 seconds. Proceed to curve the brim using your Stanley cup. Done and done.
In Australia, Lids are often selling quite nice designs that are only in flat brim but for like CRAZY cheap, whereas the 49Forty and ones that have a curved peak are much more expensive and not in the same designs.
If you curve the brim yourself with the hat on prior to steaming it you should get an idea of how it'll fit. As far as I'm concerned, the hat always fits soooo much better once the brim is curved.
Yes because the heat makes the plastic malleable, but once it cools down again it goes rigid. This is actually how the 39Thirty and 49Forty range are curved from new.
Maybe try again and steam longer, top and bottom, nooks and crannies; until everything is pliable; also maybe hold longer around the bottle, if that's what you're doing.
Completely agree. Cause after watchin’ another video of a ‘UA-camr’ using this identical method last week, I decided to try this on one of my hats. Except instead of using a steamer to soften up the brim, I just boiled a big ass pot of water on the stove, held brim above said boiling water for no more than a minute tops & what do you know, it worked like a mofo’in charm, as well. Getting the exact same result as this cat got. If not even better, in my humble opinion.
You don't need a steamer. Boiling water works as well. But definitely something to make the brim softer definitely helps. Bc, when you get the shape you want and allow it to cool down, that curve is pretty crispy. It's pretty convenient if you don't want to keep hand curving your hat throughout the day
I mean that's not a steamer just for ✌️"Hats"✌️. It's mainly for clothes but u can use it on a lot of othet fabrics. I have one cuz I don't have space anymore in my studio and don't wanna take 20mins to iron out wrinkles out my clothes when.l u can do it in seconds.
@@why-why-whywhywhy bro I stg I was thinking of doing the same method once I seen another video and since u just proved it to me that it works I’m def about to do 💀
it's really ugly and tacky to keep the visor flat, it's a baseball cap, it has to be curved. When you leave it flat, you look like a child or a retard who's just bought a cap for the first time.
Why would you want to curve your hat? They don't sell the hat like that so does that "C" shape have some kind of racial meaning? What could a BIG "C" stand for?
The most straight to the point video ever! Thanks for saving my time.
This is the best "how to" video on youtube. Just straight to the damn point.
Only if every how-to video was this straight to the point. Thanks!

Thank you
Thanks it works😊
Heat gun or hair dryer will suffice as well
Instructions unclear, anyone want some SnapBack soup ?
" you need a steamer" *closes video*
Yep
True, but it's the best way to get the perfect curve
Use a kettle that’s what I use
"use a kettle" *gets in time machine to go back to the 19th century*
@CravensArt what do you use to boil water?

Yess the way how to videos should be made. Shirt spike and straight to the point
Just did this with my hats and they look awesome after all these years of trying to get it perfect I found the easiest and best way to do it. Thanks!
Excellent video. straight to the point!!

Can I use the steam from an iron?
@@sacredspamz8991 yes
Did it work?
💯💯💯
genius
Thank you for the informative vid! Thanks for not bullsh*tting around and getting to the point! 🙌

Thanks Man Searching for this exact same thing
No time waste nothing just to the point kudos ✌🏻
The house i moved into the dude left this huge stand up steamer. I was like what the heck am I gonna use this for? I use it every week. 😂
It's so damn useful
I wish I could double like this vid. I came back to it after I actually bought my hat. quick and easy!
Great method!
This was perfect thanks
Great video! Did the trick 👍🏻

worked perfectly using a 750ml glass bottle, thank you : )
Thanks dude!!!
Amazing, did it with my iron. It was so quickly made I felt like a fool not doing that way before
🔥 gonna try this
God Level 101 salute dude 😎
How long does it stay bent before you have to do it again?
Thanks bro
Gracias! Lo boy a aser
Would this work for a plastic visor type hat? And where do you get this from?
I just want to hang out with Munfu Proffitt now.
It helps
Perfect 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
For me curve hats look better than flat and block the sun better
But flats are still cool too
To each there own taste👍
“I like a good curve, so when I’m done I kinda play with it a lil bit.” 😭😭😭
Does it’s stay like that forever? or do you have to keep curving it over time as you wear it
can u deliver cap to india?
What steamer did you use here?
This guy is a fkn G
My guy! 🫡
what size water bottle?
Can you use a blow dryer ?
Lmao ur on the front page of results with this thats crazy/. I know u from scru so it was a huge surprise
Old-school. Use your thumbs to bend the rim or use a tennis ball & rubber band.
Lids going up imtellinyou!!!🎉❤
What size yeti rambler is that ? 36oz 46oz ?
STEMAH..... nice anhauh... PLIABULLLLH....
Yeah but how do you do it with a patch on the side and it's not creased
If you don’t have a steamer, just boil some hot water and hold the cap above the boiling steam of water for 30 seconds. Proceed to curve the brim using your Stanley cup. Done and done.
What size is the Yeti???
I got a nice cap from my job but it looks like a box. I don’t have a steamer though
How do you get it to stay and not fan back out 😅
Works for a day or 2 but then I slowly works it’s way back to almost the original
My hat is flat in the back its not adjustable but want to change it . Can you change it for me in the store thx.
Step 1: Buy a hat with a curved brim.
Step 2: Don’t skip Step 1.
There are many designs that only come for a flat brim hat
In Australia, Lids are often selling quite nice designs that are only in flat brim but for like CRAZY cheap, whereas the 49Forty and ones that have a curved peak are much more expensive and not in the same designs.
If no steamer just boil some water and use the steam when it’s boiling
Yes but if you dont have Steamer?
Noti gangg
Does curving the brim make the cap fit more loose or tight? Coz i bought one fitting just right which i haven’t curved yet
Wondering the same
It does make it fit a little tighter near the front, but it will probably be more snug than uncomfortable.
It loosens up for me but i think it all depends on the shape of your head tbh
I think the sides get tight for me and the front is a little more loose
If you curve the brim yourself with the hat on prior to steaming it you should get an idea of how it'll fit. As far as I'm concerned, the hat always fits soooo much better once the brim is curved.
What’s fluid ounce size of that yeti cup
30 oz
@@lids good looks lemme get some store credit tho :)
Hats blew up it seems since 2020
Does anyone know if the brim stays curved for good? Man I’ve tried almost all methods and none really hold up. I have yet to try the steam method.
as long as you get hot moisture on the brim it should mould permanently. Just hold it for like 10 minutes or until its dry
@@vm8886ok now I could go back to buy that flat brim. Too bad there are much better colors. Now I can curve them.
I tried this method and it came out perfectly, but after 2/3 days the brim start to straighten back. What should I do to make it permanently curved?
Use more steam and curve it more (around a smaller container maybe). The more it heats up, the more it will be malleable only until it's cool.
But does that brim stay curved permanently?
Yes because the heat makes the plastic malleable, but once it cools down again it goes rigid. This is actually how the 39Thirty and 49Forty range are curved from new.
No
Question:
If u curve ur hat, can reduce the size?
I think so
Can you please show this to the “fr fr bussin no cap deadass sheeeeesh” dudes around here with their flat brim looking heads
Can I get a job here 👀👀
You didn’t remove stickers
You don’t need a steamer.
It’s a visor.
Lids used to sell “the perfect curve” tool what happened
now what if you DONT have a steamer ..
Hydroflask is my BEST choice
Can i use a heat gun 😅
Nice curved on your hats man
Bro didn’t even put it on
Can it stay curved permanently??
definitely no! It wont last longer than a week....
@@skyerjthat’s not true at all. Mines stay curved but I also let the brim sit inside a coffee mug for hours
@@skyerjYou didn't heat it up enough.
So can they do it for u at lids
yes
The one by me charges
Yeah mine charged a $5 fee lol
I roll my bill with a fat rubberband overnight 😂
wrap a rubber band around it and leave it for 2-3 hours and it will stay curved permanently
Bruh I don't miss a SINGLE crevice
Oh wait we're talking about hats
Nice yeti lol
It's not the Same curving a flat billed hat. Seems like there's more cardboard in brim or something the side always leave a gap it's just weird
Sheesh
I did this and now the brim is crooked
Maybe try again and steam longer, top and bottom, nooks and crannies; until everything is pliable; also maybe hold longer around the bottle, if that's what you're doing.
Tbh , take a hot shower.. let it get real steamy.. have your hat in the bathroom .. works the same

it's really ugly and tacky to keep the visor flat, it's a baseball cap, it has to be curved.
When you leave it flat, you look like a child or a retard who's just bought a cap for the first time.
