This cart is one of the best HF values. I wanted all drawers to open with closed lid. Easy - drill out rivits holding drawer rod brackets, remove brackets, pull all drawers out slightly, pull out rods, reinstall brackets with a couple of small bolts. Neat and clean. Also added power strip on one of the legs and HF folding shelf on the side.
All you gotta do is pull the plastic plungers off and then cut in half the metal part almost flush and then you can close lid without locking drawers. If want want them locked, put cut metal piece inside plastic plunger and then put back in place. Plastic plunger is long and will extend down to hold cut pieces in place.
I've had the black 4 drawers for over 3 years now with no problem and will probably get another soon. Also I think the carts are a lot better quality than their big boxes. Thanks for the tour
I just got the white one! And love it I'm waiting for hb to make the white side drawer, I used to have expensive truck tools for year's but ones day I got everything stolen, since then I bought at hb tools until I could but better ones.... Those ended being the better ones and for year's I've used them in a daily professional environment I honestly though they wouldn't last a month but I still have the same sockets, ratchets ( except for 2 that I purposely broke xD) and wrenches from them. They are worth the money, and are good tools if you don't mind getting laugh at for being hb
Jason Armstrong before they had all the new colors they were just red blue and black and they had coupons on the main page for the price I got them. Now they are in the 200s for a cart.
american craftsman are danaher tool company. used to be made here in joe smiths town. then after craftsman contract ended Danaher done kobalt few years
i worked at vermont american for 10 yrs making craftsman tap and die vermont made craftsman tools for over 50 yrs until sears ended the contract sad day
Since the side cabinet is deeper than the 5 drawer cart, you must have cut back the hanging lip that the cabinet uses to attach. No close ups in the video; is that what you did? If so, a grinder or ..... what?
@@fixedroofcoupe That would be great. I think many users with the 5 drawer cart would make this modification if shown how little it takes or what to expect when doing it.
It attaches over the edge. You will have to cut the lid. On the bottom of the cabinet where the bolt holes are u have to drill the bottom tray. You can see how I did it if you watch the video.
"quality tools" I own everything from cheap china made to big name tool truck, if it works send it, especially if you are a hobbyist. if you use the tool enough to break it buy a better quality one, this eliminates the drawers most guys have full of expensive tools that get used once and never touched again.

Love watching these, I saw your set up and was like damn, that’s a good amount of tool box for not a lot of money
add grommets to the screw driver holes to prevent them from moving. that's what I did, rubber wiring grommets.

Well thought out, glad you got lined up in my Q. Kudos to you.
Thanks man

Joe Smith I like them a lot. Only have 1/4 tho
where did you find a 17 inch deep end drawer .the HF is 22 inches?
Where did you get that plastic organizer in the top drawer of your side cabinet?
Mike DeFranco at harbor freight I believe.
I have done a couple reviews of my cart on my channel and love it. Just subbed and look forward to seeing your next videos!
Can you bolt both carts together I would like to do that but not sure if they would fit
With a little work I think you could

Intrested in your pliers you made to help you with the turbo
six oh eight trucker secret
have you thought about doubleing the shocks to have the lid on cart #1 open on its own?
george banuelos lugo never thought of it really. I kinda just leave it open and where it is.
What coupon did you use, I thought US General was excluded from the coupons?
Jason Armstrong before they had all the new colors they were just red blue and black and they had coupons on the main page for the price I got them. Now they are in the 200s for a cart.
There's a $189 one in the new book
@@fixedroofcoupe I just paid 189 for my blue cart yesterday.
Great idea!!! Nice Vett
I used 3m double sided tape on my magnet strips so I didn’t have to drill holes in the lid
Love the set up great job man !
american craftsman are danaher tool company. used to be made here in joe smiths town. then after craftsman contract ended Danaher done kobalt few years

lets hang our head for sears, the best place to buy craftsman tools, rest in piece.
i worked at vermont american for 10 yrs making craftsman tap and die vermont made craftsman tools for over 50 yrs until sears ended the contract sad day
Yes that's where I bought most of my tools sad day indeed
I grew up in that store. When it closed down it was like your favorite uncle dying.
Do u have a video on how you did it

Mark Keeler I’ll make an updated video

Mark Keeler i made a updated video.
@@fixedroofcoupe ...please post a link to your updated video on the cart and how you made the modifications. Thanks.
why not move the casters over or add another pair make it more stable and movable
Fred Elwell i don’t really move it. It stays where it it. Other wise it’s def a option.
How did u attach the side cabinet

hehe we uploaded on almost the exact same day of harbor freight products
how do you have 35000 views and 92 subs. joe smith has 156 subs and gets 15 views a video
I was hoping quality tools would be in your inexpensive HF box...nope
It’s a harbour freight box what do u expect?

If you break a HF tool take it back. No worries.
