Coming back to this video 2 years later after getting the materials to do my first hats. Freaking pumped
Better late than never.
Go road ahead
Bro you’ve come such a long way I remember watching your first time screen printing series when we’re struggling to burn a screen and the machine kept coming out registration lol. I drop my own brand on the 3/8/21 and in a way your a part of it so thanks for being consistent. Keep dropping these bangers. 🤙🏾
Things have definitely come a long way since then, I was terrible haha. Glad to be a part of it, good luck with the drop!
As always crispy tight video. I have been using Htv for a while and really wanted that hat press. Glad to see you have that printer dialed in. Cheers
I've had this press for about 5 months and it's really awesome especially for the 3d patches and silicone patches :) Awesome video my dude :)
It's such a solid machine. I love it 🤘🏻
That’s a good ICC setting you’ve got, the LS38 one looks amazing!
Thanks!
This video is unbelievably perfect today. While I’m still waiting on parts to repair my PRS100, I’ve been picking vinyls to try out HTV on about 200 hats I just got in while I get my embroidery back up & running. Substantial difference is that I’ll be attempting this with an Easypress, buuuut I ordered my IQ 360 (or vice versa) about a week and a half ago. Due to arrive 3/8!
Hell ya you'll love the 360, it's untouchable by anything else out there right now
Hot damn 🔥 another hot video! Thanks for always keeping it real
👊🏻👊🏻
Great job dude. So vibrant, and great info as per ✌🏼
Thanks a lot
thaaaaaank you ,Keep being GREAT love the videos as always !!!!!!
i love the content you put man your awesome
Turned out awesome
Hey Lee thanks for inspiring others. I just ordered my Hotronix 360 IQ, I can't wait to get it👊
Hell ya you're gonna love it 🤘🏻
Printed Stahl's numbers for ball teams today. Did a digital camo fill on them, looks sweet. Really love that skull logo you did here. Slick design. 👍
Thanks a lot 🤘🏻
That retro chrome LS38 logo looks 🔥. Great job man! Love your videos.
Thanks a lot
Thank you for this video , i appreciate this so much.
You are still my hero.
Heck yea!
When I see notification from Lee, I drop everything, including my kid and it`s time to watch this master at work!
I did noticed that jumper in the Instagram post the other day and wanted to ask what is it, because I couldn't see the whole thing. Now I see it and I can thank you for introducing me to Sylosi! Found them a while ago in your story, they're on my playlist since then.
The editing dude! jeez! You killed it as always!
Glad to see you got that Roland fully working, bet you don't want to repeat that process ever again
I can see Wheels hair on your right shoulder in 3rd chapter :))) don't kill me.. I like Wheels, he's cute AF!
Let that beard grow man!!!
One day, ill afford that hat press
Sylosis is incredible, they've been in my top 3 favorite bands for over a decade. Apparently there's no lint roller on earth that can save me from having wheelie hair covering me in these things 🤷🏻♂️
Solid review on the hat press. 👍 I’m looking forward to seeing what the DTG printer will do with that LS38 logo.
Hell ya I'm definitely going to be testing this design with it 🙌🏻
Gnarly video and designs as usual. Awesome stuff man. 👍
Thanks a lot dude 🤘🏻
I was thinking about HVT for a hat job, I swear youtube reads minds. HMMMMMMMMMM. Keep up the good work
Game Changer....... Thank you for the update.
I agree with you Bro having an embroidered machine is cool but it's not always efficient. For certain projects
These material works like a charm on a latex printer as well and there is no need to wait to dry because it comes out completely dry right out of the printer.
This stuff does NOT work on a latex printer. There are vinyls made for using on latex printers but this is not one of them, it's solvent only. Solvent also produces way better quality
Been using Neenah 3G Jet Opaque and have had real nice results with it so far. Yes it's a desktop printable but for a smaller business, just getting going, thousands for solvent printers in the beginning are not feasible. Get a good pigment ink printer and you will see pretty durable results.
Hey man what printer do you use ?
Dude you are so helpful with thus stuff you have no idea... THANKS
Glad to help 🤘🏻
Thanks for the info! Sick video! keep it up!!
Thanks!
110% agree with you on the embroidery! I may never look at a 6 panel hat the same again, "butt Crack" lol !!! Great Hat choice with the Yupoong and those turned out Sick!!!! So clean, Nice work bro.
Much appreciated dude 👊🏻👊🏻
cool video lee hats look awesome great work
Much appreciated 🤘🏻
I love your videos! Also ESO is FANTASTIC!
I'm a huge ESO nerd 🤓
So Solid Bro!!!
Cool stuff 🎉
HTV also looks great on hats if raised, heat applied on felt, cut, and applied to hats with htv adhesive. Lil more work, but looks really good.
That Dimebag Darrell guitar tho!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Now I just need to get my hands on that skull Rouge Lab Hat. Hats so DOPE!!!
I guess I better make a few 🤔
@@leestuart38 When you do, let me know plz! I’d love to have one. Literally jonesing for one man. 🤣 Legit the sickest hat I’ve seen in years. 🔥 🔥🔥🔥
The retro logo one is sooooooo clean ✊🏽🔥
Thanks man, I love the colors in that version
Awesome content!!!
Damn those hats are dope!
those do look killer for sure - can't wait till you get a bigger shop and you are able to do so much more.. also your fault with wheels you started to play so now you must ALWAYS play. lol. keep up the great work cheers.
I'd love if you could do more videos about the Roland! I use one at work and I still don't have it working as well as I'd like it. As usual, awesome video!
I agree, I should cover that thing more
Just got mine last week. It’s a dope press 🔥
It's sooooo good
Awesome! Thanks
Bro I’m bouta take my work to a new level! 🙏🏽
Nigga wth u duin on here LMAO 🤣
Great video Lee. I'll be attempting this with sublimation htv.
thanks for the information
great work
best thing I've done all day is come across your channel. your set up is GOALS AF. I've been wanting to do HTV on a hat, but my only solution was sublimated easy subli...your stuff is dope though!!! Thanks for this vid
Thanks a lot! If you need transfers hit us up 🤘🏻
@@leestuart38 I definitely will...working on designs and until I get a setup, I'd love to have transfers made up. So, when you mention this printable HTV is to be used with solvent inks, do mean only the print/cut printers (like the Roland), or can those eco tank printers, using solvent ink, be used as well? thank you
Super informative!
I am struggling a bit to get my press dialed in. I use Richardson 112 and Yupoong 6606 mostly and a few Richardson 320 or other chino style hats. I am using 1.4 - 1.6mm genuine leather patches. Originally I was using the stahls thermo adhesive and was struggling to get the patches to stick to the hats. I could get the adhesive to adhere to the patch but not to the the hat. I switched to heat n bond ultimate and had more success but am still running into issues with adhesion here and there I’d say 1or 2 of 5. I use the standard 320 280 heat settings. Time is 45 seconds. First adhesive attachment is 5 seconds. Pressure is 5-7. When I called, Stahls actually said you were the man and may be able to help! So help! 😂 jkjk.
Let me know your thoughts if possible.
Thank you 🙏🏾 🔥
Great job bro!
Saludos from Perú 🇵🇪
Thanks!
Awesome video! Inspired me to buy this press. Also, I just bought the VG2540 (saw thats what you're running). Im coming from a VS540i. Subscribed and hit the bell! Also, I come from film making, kick ass job on your editing.
Thanks a lot man!
i desparately need a filming course from you please :) . im watching from cozumel México
Super video Lee, thanks. Your videos sealed the deal on me getting a 360. I love using HTV as it really increases the range of what can be printed. And of course minimal weeding compared to just plain cut vinyl. But, the only thing that puts me off HTV is the glossiness of the solvent ink. No matter how matte the actual HTV, the gloss of the ink makes the logo unreadable at the right angle. Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong...
It really depends on the material you use more than the ink. This material I'm using in the video prints very matte and always looks great.
@@leestuart38 thanks Lee, might try a different vinyl then. I'm using Siser Softprint Colour Matte. It looks super matte before printing.
So good. The last printable htv I used didn't turn out well. My next run I'll definitely have you print for me. How does their older hat press work with it? Cheers!
Nice content dude 🔥🔥🔥😍
Thanks 👊🏻
You got me bro 💯
You back 😀😀😀✌️✌️✌️
Didn't go anywhere 🤷🏻♂️
🔥🔥🔥 🤙🏾🤙🏾
was asking myself earlier about HTV for hats.... a couple hours later, Lee delivers the goods
I'm in your mind 🧠
Awesome video bro
Thanks man 👊🏻
That 5 panel v 6 panel tip is A1
Ding!
cooolnessss
We do sublimated patches for high detail designs when someone wants it on caps.
That's another way to do it
I like the look of the material of the caps coming through the transfer. Gives the look of it being directly printed instead of a transfer
@@crumptees I wanna see🤩
I have 500 adhesive back patches to do next week on Richardson caps. Nice order, but dang it's going to be a repetitive grind. 😂
Great vid...as ALWAYS! We purchased this machine based in your recommendation and review! We even connected and ordered leather/embroidered patches from your recommended person. I made my first hats last weekend. They turned out sweet. It show a little scorching and we immediately orderd the flex sheet. Playing around with regular vinyl now...is there a formula for setting the platens for regular vinyl? Also, how do we order the full color vibrant patches from you? Is there a min quantity? Please let us know. Dope!! Thank you and keep doing what you do....so inspiring!!! 🔥🔥🔥
For vinyl applications I usually run the lower platen on the colder side since the material is so thin and doesn't really need the extra bottom heat. 200° seems to work well for that. If you want transfers just shoot me an email through the rogue lab site with some info about what you're after 🤘🏻
Bout time. 😁
Dope shit awesomeness
Great video bro. Thanks for all the info. Any heat temperature setting tip for pressing Siser Brick 600 to hats.Would u use the same settings that u mention in video of 290 / 220?
Those are nice
YES!
Excellent video and great tips - I want to step up my print workshop with a Roland Printer/ Plotter like yours, which is the model you use/ is there any other model you would recommend me to check out?
Hey Stuart, I was wondering what settings are you using on your profile to achieve better blacks on the supertek opaque?
My profile is top secret 🤫. That's how I set myself apart
🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just discovered your channel. Great video
Thanks a lot 👊🏻
Lee Stuart, If its curling up on you, it might also be your temp too high. I usually learned to run mine at around 85degrees when i print on HTV. I use SISER printable HTV with my Roland. The stahl brand might need a different temp.
It's from the slight contraction of the ink drying that will curl it if it's cut too quickly
Super bro
Hey brother. I stumbled upon your channel looking at the hotronix hat press videos. I am so inspired. I started up a laser company and am going to do hat patches and other things. Thanks for such great content. Its real. I am curious about what is on your hat in this video? I would be interested in having you create and make some things for me to press myself!
Both of those hats are so fucking rad!!!
Thanks man!
Dope
Which measurement instrument do you use with your roland to make thr profile
epic as always! cat montage could have been a bit longer though.. ahaha
Strongly agree 🙌🏻
another cool video! The dry time with ecosolvent is one issue why i went with a Latex printer.
Latex is good for that, it just didn't meet my standards in a few key areas
Hey, I got 2 questions regarding latex printers and was wondering if you can help?
-I’ve seen holographic stickers and was wondering if latex printers are good for printing over holographic vinyl?
-Do you still laminate the prints after or are they weatherproof right after printing?
Thanks in advance.
@@MadebyEdgar i wont spam it here but there is another guy i chat with that does holographic vinyl printing with latex,
@@leestuart38I have my stahls hat press on order as well. edit: ye I used to work at a roland dealer years ago, def still like them. I guess weigh your needs and pick the right one! nice job!
Skill share❤️🙌
Legit. As usual man. One of my top three printers man. Always inspired by the shit you put out! 🤙🏽 keep creatin cool shit
That's rad! Thank you!
Hey Man, really enjoy your content. Quick question, how do you keep your studio neat and clean?
Do you have a daily routine tidying it up?
Greetings from Chihuahua, North Mexico.
Thanks man. I just do a quick cleanup at the start or end of the work day and it stays pretty clean. But if I get ink on something that gets cleaned off immediately
Hey lee! The bgm is very satisfying.❤️
But i dont understand how that logo get printed? Is that on printer or in vinyl cutter! Because i dont understand how to transfer multicolor with vinyl heat press 😭.
Will be waiting for your reply 🚩
I just waited 2 months for a box of sweaters to be screen printed (one color) and 7 of them were not even useable. People around here seem to have a major problem screen printing on polyester fleece sweatshirts. I'm so pissed, I gave up with that company entirely. Great video Lee by the way. :)
That's unfortunate. We can help with that when we take on new clients again towards summer
Lee! What’s that color profile you mentioned? I’m getting a Roland BN-20 and would love to have the same color pop!
That masked transition with the purple roll, Fucking Sick. So slick and tight. Watched it like 5 times :)
Glad someone noticed it 😂
Does that grey mat prevent the dwaure scotch marks?
Good video Bro👍🏼......I'm looking to start up a hat business, and definitely wanna with the 360, and similar set up you have 👍🏼.
It's the perfect press to do it with 🤘🏻
@@leestuart38
Thanks Lee,
I'm actually watching your videos as we speak👍🏼. Do you actually make the leather patches too?
@@lightningw1537 I make the patches in house now
How much did you charge the client per hat? I am still trying to figure out how to charge fair prices. Still starting up the business. Also, thank you so much for your knowledge. I truly appreciate you.
love this video where do u get the hats from?
Great content Lee! I think I need to have you make some transfers for me lol
Thanks! I can make that happen 🤘🏻
@@leestuart38 is there a price sheet or form to fill out you have or do we just send the art work to email?
@@Factory928AC Send the artwork to info@roguelabmfg.com with the sizing and quantity of the transfers you need
Nice Sylosis T shirt!
Hell ya. One of my favorites 🤘🏻
@@leestuart38 great Band!
What are the bare essentials I need for making hats like these? printers etc..
I got one bro. How do you know what to put the bottom plate temp?
добра работа,браво
Hey, thank you for been so Detailed with everything! Great video!
Question; can this machine press woven patches on caps/ foam trucker hats?
How strong is the attachment, would it need also to be stitched, for the patch to stay?
Thank you
It'll press patches onto truckers just fine, I've done it a lot. The strength of the bond will depend on the quality of the adhesive used by whoever made the patch. If it's well made and applied properly, the front of the hat will rip off before the patch does.
@@leestuart38 thank you! I hope the adhesive is good on these patches
Hey Lee, Awesome video as always. I have been thinking og getting into the print and cut myself for garments etc. Would a Latex wide format printer work or do you recommend eco-solvent as in Roland BN-20. Reason I ask is Ive heard that if the eco-solvent type sits for few days or not used constantly the machine messes up as opposed to the waterbased latex etc.
Eco solvent all the way, latex is ass for this stuff. That's also not true at all, solvent machines all have self maintenance schedules to keep them from drying out. They can sit for a very long time as long as there's ink and cleaning fluid in there
@@leestuart38 fantastic brother ty. I have an opinion white toner printer and also a graph tech 24 inch cutter. Is there a 24 inch solvent printer u recommend? I thought about Roland bn-20 but technically wouldn't need the cutter. It does seem like a solid machine tho.
which yp classic 5 panel hat do you use
Can't wait to get that hat press , your review made me want to get it . Also I would like to know how to get the patches printed with you.
You definitely should, it's a killer press. Go to our website and email us the design and some info about what you need done
@@leestuart38 okay, thank you but first the press 🙂
