    I just recently removed an engine harness from a 2001 at the junkyard and I don’t remember EXACTLY how I did it, but I definitely do not remember removing abducting through the fire wall…like at all 🤔

    Great step by step video. Thank you. Can you comment on the needed components swapped over? I am swapping a 2000 xj 4.0l drivetrain (engine, trans, xfer case, possibly drive shaft and diff carriers) swapping over to a 1995 cherokee. Can you highlight what harnesses and which modules need to be swapped? Thanks.

    • @ProjectDanH
      @ProjectDanH  3 роки тому +2

      are you going to run the 2000 0331 head? if so you will need to swap everything. it has the coil pack ignition so you'll need the whole wire harnesses, the pcm, the cats, everything. if you want to run it as a 1995 then you'll just need to swap the block and you have to use the head form the 1995

    My dash and sub-dash are out, as well as the rest of my interior. I am welding in floor pans, but need to patch some of the footwell on the passenger side as well. Can I remove the pertinent heater ductwork without removing the heater core? Are the fasteners accessible with the engine in? I do not want to open the coolant lines. Note: I have already repaired the interior harness and removed it for the work to come. I am replacing the entire interior, from carpet to headliner.

      oh man.. your in deep... here's the thing.. XJs tend to leak where the heater core seals against the firewall.. since your this far in, I highly recommend you remove the whole box. make sure you buy this seal kit for reinstallation...

      @@ProjectDanH Thanks for the advice and the link.
      Looks like all my footwell rust is from the exterior. I think I’m going to avoid draining the coolant and disconnecting the AC, as right now I appear to have plenty of room to patch what I need to in order to weld in the pans and inner/outer rockers. I was at it with a grinder and a sharpie yesterday. My issues all stem from road salt and age.
      One more question, tho: I plan on doing patches, then pans, then inner rockers, then outers, then exterior rust bits on the body. My assumption is that I cannot remove the pans and rockers (on one side) all at once without risking messing up the shape of the unibody.
      Am I correct in my assumption?

      Thanks Dan! They're hard to come by. I'm pretty sure they're only on the police models. You might have to buy the whole Jeep! If you look to buy online they are mostly white or green. Some specific characteristics to look for are a certified 120mph speedo, a 4 hole switch bezel w\ the ext idle switch and they don't have the roof racks. They also usually have a 130 amp alternator and 9 inch rear brake drums. I found one in Tennessee on a salvage auction. Good luck!

    • @ProjectDanH

      They make aftermarket replacement injector clips that you can wire in. Alot of time the heat of the XJ makes the injector harness brittle and the wires brake. I would inspect the engine harness ASAP

    @ 8:00 is the transmission control module. the air bag sensor is under driver seat or the center console. some of them were mounted under the seat but a service bulletin in 2000 said to move it to the top of the transmission tunnel under the center console to avoid corrosion
