Todo joia! Just like you, I love foreign languages - I'm bilingual in Italian & English... moderately advanced in French - and "wrestling" to reach intermediate level in Portuguese and German. So, a tool like this is very exciting! I just hope I don't get addicted to it - after all, I've been known to say "I could listen to Virginia all day" 😄
I took your "Workshop Pré-Intermediário" and, while I'm glad I did it - and enjoyed it - I had the same problem I often have in language classes : I like to move slowly, and as a result I start to fall behind - and have been known to drop out to avoid getting mixed up with too many new verb tenses, while I'm still wobbly with the ones I SORT OF know! (yes, I am aware that I retain access to the recordings, but I still hope that the "Pré-Intermediário" could one day get split in 2, with each half moving more slowly thru the entire duration. I'd sign up live again for that!)
Meanwhile, I applaud you for putting new tech to good use, and am planning to say "oi!" to the Virginia virtual ! 🙃

I am trying it out right now, stopping midway through my conversation to leave a comment, and it's so great! I love how it flows so naturally, like I will make a statement about what I think or what I'm doing or something I don't understand, and I get complete and relevant follow-up questions! It's so impressive. Especially where I can pause in my sentence to think of a word without feeling like the pause will interrupt the full message. And being able to switch languages and receive a translation that helps me fill the gaps is amazing. 9.5/10, but not a 10/10 like the real Virginia 😁

Olá, Virgínia querida! Compreendi perfeitamente a sua mensagem, sobre tudo quando mencionou que os membros da sua geração não tinham UA-cam, nem podcasts, como recursos disponíveis para aprender línguas. No meu caso, saiba que eu sou um deles, e tive de estudar idiomas sem a tecnologia de hoje.
Agora, para responder a sua pergunta referente à voz do seu clone, considero que não parece com a mesma do que sua voz real, mas ainda assim, acho que sim é possível praticar a fala desse jeito. Por outra parte, mesmo se esse recurso é novo e funcional, você tem razão em dizer que nada substitui uma professora real, mas, ao mesmo tempo, você deve aclarar que fazer aulas não é o único método para aprender uma língua estrangeira. E te falo isso, porque, com base na minha experiência, a melhor maneira de adquirir conhecimentos em outro idioma, é através do estudo autodidata, o qual pode ser feito lendo libros, revistas ou ebooks; ouvindo músicas, ou podcasts; e também assistindo às notícías, ou mesmo aos filmes brasileiros.
De qualquer forma, agradeço você pelo fato de ter produzido um vídeo tão bom, Virgínia!

Eu gravei três áudios de aproximadamente 5 minutos cada em ritmos diferentes, um em ritmo normal, um devagar e outro muito devagar. Só isso! Não sei dizer como funciona o restante do processo.

I'm trying to use it, and the website looks very buggy. When trying to sign up, when it asks which language I'd like to learn, all of the buttons say "undefined" 😅
I just read the privacy policy, since I wanted to double check about what they may do with my conversations, and I think I'll stick with live teachers: "We will also review your conversations and personal data, which may be in such conversation, collected through the use of our Services in order to provide quality control of the Services on our side. This includes voice recordings and transcriptions. Please be aware of that any sensitive information shared in your conversation could be accessed and reviewed as part of our provision of Services. Please, do not provide sensitive information during your intercourse with AI-powered teachers on our Service [...]"

I have been using Teacher AI for some time and I don't worry about privacy because I don't share any sensitive information. We always have to take these precautions in the online world. Either way, I support your decision to stick with real teachers. They are the best!
I enjoy Virginia's content here, but I would highly discourage people from purchasing this service. I bought it since there is no free trail and I immediately regretted it. I received no response from the AI instructor on the site. It just constantly stays in a state of processing my sentence. I have no issues with my internet connection and the microphone works on my phone. I'm awaiting a response from the website in regards to receiving a refund on the subscription I purchased. I will never again purchase something like this that doesn't come with at least a short free trail.

É possivel que o clone entende o sotaque de aluno, apesar que é diferente do sotaque de clone (por exemplo o teu clone e um aluno que aprende portugues europeu)?
Sim, o clone entende sotaques diferentes desde que você pronuncie as palavras claramente. Além disso, no Teacher AI, você também vai encontrar professores virtuais de português europeu. :)

I don't know of y'all seem but someone made Hitler's speech in English and it sounds just like him, or how he would sound anyway. I don't know German to confirm.. but it's close to his original German voice. Somehow not as scary as screaming in German though.
