    I went to an audiologist for my hearing test, then tool that script to Costco to purchase a jabra pro 20 and used script from there. The device is comparable to high end jabra. So far I've had same specialist for each visit and happy with hearing aid. Saved lots of money. Downside is some wait times for appointments.

    I went to an audiologist and received a hearing test. I was told that the cheapest hearing is that they have is $2400. I have family members that have purchased Hearing Aid’s from Costco and they have told me that they are life-changing! They are beyond impressed with the customer service and have been using the same individual for over three years. Costco currently has the Jabra 10 hearing aids, which are phenomenal Hearing Aid’s! One really nice feature is that you actually have an app on your phone that will allow you to fine-tune the hearing aids to your personal needs and whatever environment you are in. Honestly, I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t go to Costco and save several hundred dollars for the same hearing aid that they would get at an audiologist where the prices are significantly inflated.

      Costco's current line of three hearing aids are $1,500 (two brands) and $1,600. --Less $0.01 each pair.

    I’m not sure you have to be a member, like their pharmacy. My dad bought a set, he is not a member but I am. But he paid with his own credit card. Worth checking if you’re not a member.

    I love Costco and their service. So well trained where I go. I happened to have had an audiology test elsewhere at a teaching hospital audiology clinic. SO love my Jabra that I got there.

      Do you have to wait a long time for service if you aid fails to work? It is taking me 2 months to get the hearing aids starting with 6 weeks for hearing test. I am afraid of the after purchase service quality.

    The entire hearing aid industry is somewhat of a joke. I've been seeing an audiologist from the top rated clinic in my area. Paid $5,000 for my hearing aids and not impressed with the process. The programming could and should be done by the user. I have to make an appointment just for them to bump up the programming based on what I tell them. I could do the same thing she does at home if I had the software. I have my appointment at Costco in a few weeks and will be paying $1,600 instead of $5,000 at my clinic and they are identical. Unless you have a severe hearing loss, it would be stupid to go to an audiologist. The only cons for Costco seem to be coming from audiologists who don't want people to go there.

    My mom had a hearing test paid by Medicare. Then the Costco test. Results the same. Hearing aids at half the cost. Not sure why anyone would pay twice as much. They are changing fast and outdated in a few years. The warrant is far superior to the overpriced ones you find elsewhere. Bluetooth for TV and phone was the best for her. At 95, she can actually hear the TV and her smartphone.

      Thanks for sharing this experience! Agree that the tests are generally of good quality! You have a bit less control over the care portion with Costco but MANY customers are satisfied. It's a great option for anyone on a budget.

      @@HearSoundly What do you mean by less control over care portion?

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  Рік тому

      @@Hecsagon85 You typically can't pick your care provider at Costco (which is common at a local clinic). You also need to stick with Costco after your purchase because the devices are locked.

    • @Hecsagon85
      @Hecsagon85 Рік тому +2

      @@HearSoundly You actually can pick your provider. And with over 600 costcos nationwide it isn't hard to find one nearby. Source: I make those appointments for costco members and they do indeed choose their own provider or a different one if they are recommended/prefer someone that someone told them about.

    How do you feel about but hearing aid at Costco and go to a audiologist at Kaiser to program hearing aid to my lose

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  Рік тому

      I believe that Costco hearing aids are locked so likely you wouldn’t be able to take them out of the system. You could double check this with your local store.

    • @chandebrec5856
      @chandebrec5856 7 місяців тому

      @@HearSoundly I believe they are not locked per se, but the programming/fitting software applications for some models may be specific to the Costco branding of the model.

    Blake, I'm in the market for either the Resound Nexia or the Jabra. You mentioned that you went through the Costco hearing test but ended up buying elsewhere. What was the deciding factor in not buying from Costco?

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  Місяць тому

      Good question! For my first pair of hearing aids, I ultimately got connected to an audiologist that someone referred me too, and trusted. I ended up going with them on the basis of knowing them. Both Jabra and resound have very similar technology, so it really comes down to who you’re working with to program the devices.

    • @Ryan-yw5fp
      @Ryan-yw5fp Місяць тому

      @@HearSoundly thanks. Good to know. I'd love to get the Nexia 9's but they are $4,400 more than the Jabra Pro 20's. I like my audiologist and would love to continue with her but I'm having a hard time justifying the price difference.

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  Місяць тому

      @@Ryan-yw5fp it's a fair question. In theory you might get better service or testing with your audiologist but the technology is effectively the same. Probably comes down to your personal preferences on where you want to get care. Have you watched our full review on Jabra Pro 20? 8 years of school for Audiology schooling, not hearing aid schooling...Dispensers and Aud's take the same test to dispense hearing aids...Costco sells only TOP END and Mid devices, no entry level devices..So a top of the line device for $3K..
