THE knife maker i just watched is i genius and has golden hands at the end his story should be in a book also we more people in this world like him BLESS YOU
If you want to secure solding the stell layers, you can use a wodden hamer when the steel is white hot to secure that the presure don't open the gaps betwen the layers befor going to the press, amazing work by the way.
Just found your channel looking for press videos. Like how the billet is shaping up and can't wait to see the progress in the next videos. What blade do you have on your bandsaw? When I try to cut 15n20 I end up chipping teeth.
I don't use flux, as it is known to erode the forge floor, so instead I initially soak the stack in Kerosene to keep in between the layers "clean" and it will burn off preventing oxygen to get between the layers...oxygen is what causes scale and scale prevents the forge weld from sticking, hope that helps, thank you so much!
I actually cut the final billet in half so it was enough for 2 good size knives...only made 1 sword before, turned out nice but it was sooo much hand sanding lol!
Great job so far! 👍
Amazing! Denis is an inspiration to us all

I'm late I know...my bad...its just a cheap harbor freight blade, but yeah they don't last long
Very interesting. But some more explanations what you are why doing would be nice. Why do you bath the steel pack in kerosene?

@@GhostMade217 thanks, that sounds smart.
