You are only one of the UA-camrs who explain the steps you are doing, right and wrong. Great job, nice work.
Thank you I appreciate it
@@FireCreekForge can I talk to you on discord I love your vids and would appreciate it if you would listen to me
I've been watching knife making videos for a long time now, but this the first time I see someone really explain what they are doing and why. lot of them are silent or just talk about the steps they are in, but you my friend made me listen to every word you said, and it lights too many bulbs over my head.
shame half of it is wrong .
@@Edgunsuk la mitad de el video, audio o de la obra de arte?
@@ierc6532 sorry i dont speak whatever that is.
Absolutely.👍

This is by far my favorite forging channel. I love that you narrate and tell us what you're doing and I really like that you forge as much of the blade shape vs relying on cutting and grinding.
Usually commentary annoys me on forging videos but yours is an exception. The way you describe what you're doing very informatively and casually makes your commentary very entertaining to listen to
Was complaining to wifey about UA-cam recommendations with scantily clad gals bow hunting, then your vid was recommended and I noted the wedding band. Subscribed, excellent detailed and interesting content. There should be a specific profile setting for married guy video recommendations.
I'm a car guy, not a knife maker but I can tell you a plasma cutter will be a welcome addition to your shop. I bought an inexpensive Chinese machine and it is absolutely wonderful. I don't have nearly as much need as you do, but I consider it money well spent. We're only talking around two hundred bucks. Think about it.
Thanks man!
Very educational, clear easy to understand instructions. Such a beautifully well done work of art that is functional. I also liked it that there was not loud annoying "music" that would have covered up what you were saying. Thank you so much.
If I could I'd smash the like button a thousand times. I've watched you "build" at least 15 knives now. Some of them two or, three times. I. Want. One. Of. Those. Knives.
My wife and I just happened on Forged In Fire program a while back and I became engrossed in this. As an avid woodworker, I felt this looked like something I might like to try, but know nothing about the science and metallurgy of this. I built my first forge (a mini) yesterday…the journey begins. Thank you for this excellent video! Subscribed.
That's great, thanks for watching glad it's helpful!
You are to be commended for your generosity in sharing your processes and specific techniques. I absolutely love the fact that the smithing community is, for the most part, quite open to sharing "secrets." I will have to try your dilution ratio for ferric, so thanks in advance for better looking patterned steel!
You bet, thanks for watching
Good to see how you are explaining to fix the screw ups! Most forging vids on here just show the "perfect" process and then the final result. Sure appreciate your skillful knowledge sir, and God bless you!
That San Mai construction really helps to show off the Damascus above. Beautiful knife.
I'm wondering how many people appreciate the work that went into that knife
New Jersey Steel Baron packs their shipments well. Kudos to you for actually forging a blade and not being one of the millions of 'stock removal' knife guys. Guard jacks are a bit less violent way to 'seat' your guard without hammering and they are easy to make.
Nice job.
Forge On!!!
That is so mesmerizing blade I’ve ever seen
Best knife build I have seen. Thank you for sharing so much knowledge with us. Your success is guaranteed!
You can clean your magnets with a blast of compressed air .👍
This was the most precisious vid about forgeing what I ever saw and heard!! Thank you, a Big Thank!!!!
I’ve been watching videos and making blades for several months, and I learned some important things from this video just now. Thanks for being thorough!
That beast is bullet proof. 3 loveless bolts desert iron wood and 80crv2.
Yeah!
It is an Amazing knife!! Only one thing what is not "fitted" in it is the guard...I belive if it would be black it would be much more nice!
Actually as I wrote before this vid was the Best to me about the details you talked about!! Like a Real teacher who Cares!! Thank You!!
I really really love how you take the time to clean and flux your steel. So much preparation for good forge welds. Prepare early so the finished knife can shine through. So much respect 👊
Absolutely mindblowing! The Forge is obviously with you. I love it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
you have definitely been a great inspiration to me too learn how to make pattern welded steel and i still have a little trouble on it but nothing like before i started watching and learning from you, I have been making knives out of mono steel for years but up until I found your videos that I ever consider doing Damascus
That's great man, keep hammering away!
I really appreciate the explanation of the process as you go along.
Pretty knife, too.
Glad to see you are still ok and doing well
Also great looking knife God bless you and be safe
This is the best channel for learning new ways of forging. Thank you sir
I pray that you , and your family are safe, and well. During these tumultuous times.
Thank you sir
This is my go to channel for info. Really feeds my inner knife nerd. 🤘❤️🇺🇸
Blade looks like a satellite photo of a coastline. Very cool. Beautiful work.
Your videos are very informative. Thank you for the great content
Looks more Camp knife than Bowie? I know Bowies had a lot of different blade shapes, but I always think of the clip point. Really like San Mai pattern.
Nice rustic knife.
I was not expecting that pattern at all. Looks amazing
Glad you like it, thanks for watching
with your new canister damascus and ball bearing videos perhaps you could use the teeth as they are in a blade with ball bearings and powder between the teeth...could look cool
That’s a piece of knife art ❤❤❤
Thank you for explaining everything to me I really appreciate that it's kind of hard to find a video where people are explaining how to really do it because I'm just learning by looking at these guys and I really don't get to know all the stuff you're putting on it or how you're dipping it or you know the minor things the stuff that really makes the difference and I really appreciate that .
Jordan Smith have a good day
Thank you sir
True craftsmanship!
love this channel so happy I found it
Amazing how much work truely goes into forging even just a billet never mind the blade itself. Great video
God sure blessed you with skill!
Your client has a beautiful knife. You did a exceptional job.
That knife is a real work of art
Beautiful craftsmanship.
I love the look of the whole thing I truly believe that ur client is going to really love it amazing work
That is one gorgeous Bowie. Love that it has a touch of Idaho in there as I am from Idaho and have a sawmill.,gained another subscribe great job thanks for sharing your talent. Cant wait for more vids.
Glad you like it, thanks!
would you be willing to sell and ship some old used Sawmill blades
@@FireCreekForge hey du, great work. Do you follow Kyle royer at all just out of interest?
@@psalmo6351 thanks! Yes I do
I like how much info you give when you forge
Thank you sir
When you use a piece of brass on top of a piece of brass it's called a cushion it actually cushions the blow so you don't make scars or they call it a softener when someone iron worker so we use softeners all the time but it's really a cushion
What you have is a multi-layered Damascus billet. San means 3 - thus 2 side layers divided by a single harder steel. Your work and and finished product is great.
Mesmerizing man....it's divinely gorgeous
Thanks man!
very good narration and great looking knife.
True craftsmanship
Thank you sire
Absolutely stunning
Absolutely gorgeous work.
This is way over my head. I never knew a knife would have so many layers of steel. But, this is the most beautiful knife. Thank you for sharing your process in such detail
Thank you sir.
awesome bowie and beautiful pattern
Need to go on forged with fire show!
Season 6 Episode 8 :)
what a beautiful pattern. wow
Thanks man!
Always happy with a Bowie
Looks like I have to make one of those bad ass Bowie knives
Taking a raw piece of steel and turning it into a cutting instrument is art
A fantastic work . Respeckt. This nife have a sool
The depth of this pattern , especially the edge (shadowing) is awesome .
Thanks, glad you like it!
The contrast between the core and pattern has a nice depth to it. Almost a three dimensional. Looks awesome brother!
Glad you like it, thanks!
That is a BEATIFUL knife....
Dude... Holy shit do you have some mad skills!!! You and guy's like you are what our country was made of, High skilled craftsman. Something sorely lacking in the modern era. NICE WORK!!!
A little trick with welding magnets blow the grindings off with a shop airgun
I like the Damascus on this one, nice job!
Thanks man!
Thank you : )
Vừa vào đã nổi cả da gà 藍giọng a Phúc hayyy quá, mong sẽ tiếp tục cover ạ ❤️
That is one beautiful bowie!
Thank you!
I get similar scrap bandsaw blades from a local plastic pipe manufacturer.
Blades are about half the size of your lumber mill one.
I just clamp a piece of angle iron to it a use that as a guide for thin kerf cut-off wheels so it's not so floppy.
I happen to have a plasma cutter now. Just use lengths of cold roll as guides for it.
I only use the cutting set up for freehand art work.
Drag tips for everyday stuff. That set up lasts much longer. Consumable replacements aren't cheap.
More than one way to skin a cat.
Excellent Presentation. Thank you.
super informative narration, thanks!
your narrative for your video really makes this exceptional! 👊👊👍👍
Beautiful blade
Clear, concise, great pics and editing. Answered all my questions....
Thanks for watching!
Overall Beautiful knife...
Love the etch... The grips look a little small for my mitts...
Hmm... Not entirely sold on the shape of the brass handguard... Great Job
love your ability to make beautiful knives.
i want one, (can't afford it but still want one) it is beautiful.
That's not a knife. That's a piece of art.
Pattern came out great!!!
Mad skills and love of the game. You've got it mister
Nice work. Beautiful Bowie. I think it is awesome that the saw blade came from northern Idaho. I've spent tons of time up there. I'll bet that saw blade saw a lot of beautiful country! Now its part of a beautiful blade! Excellent work! 👊👍
Thank you sir!
@@FireCreekForge 👍🤘👊
The pattern welded blades are my all time favorite. Would love to someday commission a sword with a wall mount and a family crest.
That is beautiful. I can stare at that pattern forever!
Thanks!
An excellent job on the explanation process and the knife.
Don't know your steel supplier but from one knife maker to another nj steel barren is my favorite by far
Yep I order from them a lot
Liked, subbed. Turned out an absolutely stunning piece of art. Great video and craftsmanship.
Thank you sir!
I was hooked at the savage box opening style.
Stunning blade your artistic ability with steel is mind blowing just wish I could have one but unfortunately I'm in the UK and we can't have more than a blunt plastic spoon
Good looking pattern. Reminds me of a coast line map.
What a beautiful well done knife. I would buy it at once
That's, really enjoyed your video and the way you took the time to explain your experienced process on this project.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another amazing piece I hope that when I get my shop finally where I can make Damascus I can get my blades to look that good
Thank you sir!
Hey champ, I lo e watching your videos, but just one slight suggestion, please put some green weld filter between your arch welder and your camera. Just to protect some of the viewers. Please. It also allows us watch the bead of your welding alot closer.
However, your billet builds always bring me back.
Turned out great. You are a master of your craft.
Beautiful knife ❤️
I live in north Idaho and have some of that same stuff I’ve forged into some really cool spatulas leaving the saw edge on one,Awsome videos dude cheers!
Cool, thanks for watching!
