My favourite episodes would be:
3. Jailbreak: There was something so great about seeing Bentley sat in the hideout alone right at the start of the mission. It gave the whole episode this sense of dread. It also subverted our usual expectations - we weren't out to break in and steal something, instead we were trying to break out to get free. It was a great scenario, and it was the first time the gang had really been split apart like that. It made them much stronger after they got back together. The revelations about the Contessa and the overall atmosphere of the episode suddenly gave the whole game a more serious tone. Overall, the missions showed off each charater's skills pretty well, but it's a shame there was no boss fight at the end.
2. The Black Chateau: What can I say about this level that hasn't been said before? It's easily the most iconic level in Sly history. The music, the visuals, the sound of screeching cats in the distance, it oozes everything that is Sly Cooper. Dimitri is one, if not, the best adversary in the series. Sure he's not as important as Clockwerk or Dr.M, but every line he has is gold, making him one of the most memorable villains ever to me. The missions introduce you to each character well, and the level is a pleasure to traverse.
1. He Who Tames The Iron Horse: I'm sorry, but when I think about which episode I prefer; this, or episode 1, I have to say that the one I have the most fun with is this one. The level is a sheer joy to traverse with every character. There was always something so hilarious luring Carmelita or the bear over to the guards and watching the fireworks unfold. Paragliding off the mountain is great (yeah I love the paraglider too Vivi), and it ends with a freaking train robbery. How can you not love a train robbery? You just have so many more tools at your disposal here as opposed to episode 1. It makes the level have an almost playground quality as you make your own fun, like wacking Carmelita then leaping on a passing train before she catches you. I can't neglect to mention the stellar music either. Even its placement in the game is great, it felt like a breath of fresh air after the claustrophobic confines of Prague. Bison is a particularly underrated villain as well: in his eyes, he's not even doing anything wrong. Even Sly said that, "back in his time, he would've been a hero". That line is a lot cleverer than it sounds, it shows that Sly is not a historical snob, and recognises that you can't judge people from yesteryear by today's values. I know it seems like a throwaway line but it made Sly a much cooler character in my eyes as it revealed a wise streak behind his cocky thief persona.

Band of Thieves is definitely my absolute favorite of the entire series but I don't actually have a particular favorite episode I guess my favorite would be "A Starry Eyed Encounter."

I found a glitch in sly 2 where after you beat the game you can replay the mission where you steal a moose head for Murray

There's a glitch on the PS2 version where if you enter the sawmill in Episode 7, you have to replay the episode straight from the job "Laser Redirection".

@@VtnVivi I'm actually Canadian the whole time and Jean bison was one of my favourite underrated villains of all time so of course I couldn't say no to one of those episodes.
I remember Sly 2 as one of the first real games I ever played as a child. Loved it and I still love it. My favorite in the series. Have always loved the stealth, that`s what makes it fun in my opinion. Amazing video Vivi!

The top 3 for me are really close in quality to one another. I have to say that Starry Eyed Encounter however is by far my favorite. When I was stressed out or bored, I would wander the level and pickpocket the guards. If I had to rank the open worlds of the series I would say Starry Eyed Encounter's world would probably be in the Top 5.

Honestly, I really liked episode 8. It has a lot to do with the fact that playing as Sly is really what the game is about for me, and the blimp environment just felt tailor made for that. Also th sense of finality here... Impeccable. No other game in the series ends as well as this one, the ending of part three notwithstanding.

I love being in Paris for the first episode, given it’s where we see the gang start out in the series overall. Something about going back to the location just feels nice 🥰

All the levels are fun, but believe or not, Anatomy for Disaster is one of my favorites! Yes, it’s shorter than the others, but despite how wide-open and spacey it is, you get to sabotage a freaking BLIMP! And to top it off, it’s the episode where it truly feels like the stakes are high. You have to keep Clockwerk from coming back, and when Neyla takes control of his body, you have to stop them both. Time is of the essence, Paris gets closer and closer, and Neyla (Clock-La) must NOT gain immortality! It just feels intense the whole time! And also, even if Clock-La succeeded and survived past the end of the game, Clockwerk himself surely would’ve regained consciousness and taken back control of his own body….
The only new sly cooper videos I will ever get and I’m not mad😄

I can agree with you on Anatomy for Disaster being last because it was one of the most frustrating levels I've ever played in the Sly Cooper series and certainly one of the most unmemorable ones too.
Even sly 2 is best sly game and one of my favorite games, i have to admit, last episode is worst sly episode, there is only one good mission
Vivi I remember when I was younger the waterbug run in Episode 3 was such a challenge once I figured a specific semi short cut I stuck with it ever sense lol. Also when I was younger Bentley's mission in Episode 5 with the crypt and bad mojo used to be semi challenging lol.
I remember playing Sly 2, Ratchet and Clank Going commando, Jak 2 when I was 8 and I loved it. And now Im about to become 17 in 3 months and I still love all 3 franchisees.
Also when I got ps now on the ps4 I played sly 2 and episode 1 gave me alot nostalgia bc I didn't know how to save a game lol
My favorite levels are the Canada ones. The 1st one because we get to see sly's true feelings about Carmelita shown even in death And the 2nd one showing the team how they feel about failure and the mammoth
My top three would have episode 2 at the top followed by episode 6, then episode 7. I really like the snowy episodes and Jean Bison. Episode 2 is my nostalgia pick. It has so many memorable moments and I also like that the heist made a lot of sense and it worked out perfectly. I think it my be the only time in the franchise that a heist goes exactly as they planned it. Makes them feel like the perfect thieves, which gives the ending to episode 3 more impact.

You know, when I did the barrel mission to destroy the "moving wheel" in Episode 3, I accidentally moved too close to it and then the barrel explodes... and I had to start from the very beginning.

So my personal ranking;
8 - Anatomy For Disaster - You've already summed up the issues with this one for me.
7 - Menace From The North Eh - Still keeps the relaxing tone of the previous chapter but the map is pretty haphazard to go through, especially as Murray guiding that bear. In addition to some frustrating jobs like the one with the bear caves and the RC combat club.
6 - A Tangled Web - This one has that unique war going on between The Contessa and Neyla that the Cooper Gang use to their advantage which I like, but the map itself is still too open which makes it less fun to play as Bentley and Murray which you will because they have more jobs here then in most of the other chapters.
5 - Jailbreak - A fantastic representation of the Cooper Gang's greatest fear making the point that prison is not where you want to be right now. Not many jobs though and a majority of them have you play as Sly which kind of just gets repetitive.
4 - The Predator Awakes - Despite the huge map clearly built for Sly and going from point A to point B as Murray and the barrel sections, this whole chapter reminds me a lot of Vicious Voodoo from the first game which I really enjoyed. That and it shows us how Rajan's mood has changed since being outed from the palace, and even though it's not fun going around as Bentley or Murray, exploring the hub as Sly has always been a huge highlight for me.
3 - The Black Chateau - A pretty great starting chapter for the game but it's mostly just giving us a taste of what to expect and nothing else. Paris is still a very memorable hub though.
2 - He Who Tames The Iron Horse - The most relaxing chapter out of all of these with a really awesome map, one that there really isn't too much Gameplay going on for Bentley or Murray which is great. And after the intensity of the previous chapter, this was absolutely welcomed.
1 - A Starry Eyed Encounter - Not sure why but the way this chapter was structured really shows off how amazing the heist setups are, the map itself is pretty distinct with unique quadrants to make it feel lived in, all the more reason why it's my favourite of the entire game.

Tank controls-When you tought that Racing levels from first game weren’t annoying enough

@@stefanloncar6868 ah yeah maybe sorry i have not read correctly, or maybe i haven't understand correctly the firtst time, excuse me i'm french, for me i don't feel the same, the only mini games levels in sly 1 i don't really like i'ts when you musst protect Murray, because like every times in minigames in sly 1 the controls are too sensible, and that's not ideal for a FPS view

On the topic of the ghost, theres a strange theory that if you take a picture of someone, you steal their soul or capture their soul or something strange like that
also just so you know too vivi, as much as I love playing video games and we both know we do, it's just so much easier watching the majority of movies and tv shows. less time consuming but for stuff like sly Cooper, ratchet and clank, jak and daxter, crash bandicoot etc... oh so worth it!
This applies to movies vs tv shows for me :P
My third favorite episode is number 1 my second favorite is episode 3 and my first favorite is episode 6

1. A Starry Eyed Encounter: full of action, romance and thrills to go along with it's various missions.
2. The Black Chateu: a classic nighttime heist caper.
3. He Who Tames The Iron Horse: a train robbery in the middle of the Canadian wilderness, what's not to love.
Only down side is you can’t replay the jobs at any time like you can in the other games

I'm surprised you didn't talk more about the aesthetics of the different episodes more. I actually judge my Favorites-List more on the look and ambiance of the episode over everything else. That's just me though. Mission structure is very important, indeed. But I just love the beautiful look of the environments. Especially the two Jean Bison Episodes. So cozy.
I think for me gameplay and story play a bigger part.

I don't really have a list because I haven't played the game in a long time (yes shame on me I failed my sly comrades), but I would say "Menace from the North, eh!" is my favorite because I used to play around with the train a lot.
And the final mission was too much fun!

Sly 2 was definetly the most action packed thriller game of the series. Black chateau, iron horse, jailbreak starry eyed and anatomy for disaster are some of my all time favourites

Some mission are really boring to do, but personally, the Tank missions wasn't annoying : I think when SuckerPunch do the game, they wanted to copy how a tank drive in real life, it's maybe for that, that the controls are "weird" for some of you 😁
Some others missions like in "The predztor awake", when you need to pick up the 8 plants, are maybe just here to let the player chill a bit, between "action" missions 🤔
You should do an other "Sly funny video" with the voice you used (like the first one you did) it can be funny 😄

I kind of agree with your list, I don’t think I would change the order too much. And yes, number 2 easily my favourite in the trilogy.
My personal top 3 in no order:
1) Starry Eyed Encounter- fun missions, simple map to navigate
2) The Black Chateau- no explanation needed. I absolutely adore the music.
3) He Who Tames the Iron Horse- stunning scenery, I think the daytime setting offers something different. Top-notch music, fun missions, and we can take down that double-crosser Neyla. And gotta love trains, right? I always find myself singing the classic Thomas theme when I’m on a train, that’s how fun they are!

This game will forever be my favorite game of all time. Also I agree with your ranking cuz there are definitely flaws but but this game really stuck with me considering its the first video game I ever played.

For me it went 8. Episode 8, 7. Episode 3, 6. Episode 4, 5. Episode 1, 4. Episode 7, 3. Episode 5, 2. Episode 2, 1. Episode 6. Just my personal preference and how much fun I had playing the episodes.

My top three are:
3.) A Black Chateau - I think the only reason I put this that high is because of Dimitri, and all the missions are rock solid, but you can't help but notice that this mission lacks a lot of the verticallity that many of the other missions offered. It's definitely a lot of fun and Dimitri has always been my favorite boss hands down.
2.) A Starry Eyed Encounter - This is a no-brainer. The open-ness of the map, the amount of map replay-ability is astounding. I love how there is two sections of this map, and the enemies feel great to combat against. The missions are excellent, and I think as far as mission selection only one tops this in Sly 2.
1.) He Who Tames the Iron Horse- Duh. This is easily my favorite episode in the entire franchise. The missions are flawless. A train heist? Hell yeah! Riding Hot Air Balloons thousands of feet in the sky while paragliding? Hell yeah! Bears running around that love to maul guards to death and pick fights with Carmelita? Fuck yeah! This mission is an Ace. Loved every second of this episode, and to this day when I replay it, I always stick around for a few hours just messing about with the map and the environment before moving on to episode 7. I have spent at least 10 times as many hours on this map alone than on any other. Incredibly fun with just the right amount of challenge. I also love fucking with Jean-Bison in his cabin with Bentley. I would chuck his grenades at him and then he would freak out and start throwing dynamite everywhere frantically. Also all the little cabins filled with guards to provide the player a nice little brawl is awesome. So cool!
Not going to lie. I still find myself going to the nightclub in the black chateau on my complete save. The music is greasy sweet.

What didn't make sense was all those bears living together, and bears are one of the most solitary animals
it honestly is really interesting how jean bison and arpeggio were having a radio conversation at the state of episode 6. shows how well those 2 works together more than any of the other members would you say? sly even mentioned this in the opening of episode 7 too. what do you think vivi?

My personal favorites from best to worse, keep in mind I do love the game and chapters equally. It's just my personal taste:
1) He who tames the Iron Horse: This is my personal favorite as I pretty much revisit this chapter for a bunch of reasons. The tone and setting giving that Canadian type vibe as it's in Canada. Hoping onboard the trains to still the lungs and stomach, and messing around with the locals and Carmelita and especially Neela.
2) A Starry Eyed Encounter: Now this one is my personal favorite chapter with the classic heist by distracting the audience until the moment is reveal somethings stolen. I enjoy the feeling of not only gaining access to a party but also sabotage the palace grounds.
3) The Black Chateau: For the first chapter of the game, it does a pretty good job setting up what future chapters are like. It's home to the fan favorite Dimitri and yeah he's weirdly cool as well as his music. His plan on making money from the tail feathers is pretty smart as who doesn't love to be rich and sabotaging his night club is awesome.
4) Menace from the North, eh: This chapter is basically a way to sabotage a lot of things. From the light house's power to power up a northern light battery, an RC car fight, the laser grid on ice, to even the lumberjack games. It's fun to mess around the resources and locals to get things done your way, until it turns a complete 180 by the end of the chapter along with a fun boss fight. Plus Jean Beason is a cool character, eh.
5) Jail Break: A classic jail break story of getting help on the outside, and an interesting story of Contessa who's playing double agent by the law and secret Klaww Gang member. It's nice to see Bentley being force to overcome the obstacles to rescue his friends from being in prison and possibly losing them from attempt of hypnosis as seen on Murray.
6) A Tangled Web: This chapter is pretty dark by having some magical and deadly stuff like death traps, black magic, both armies waiting to blow each other up, and Carmelita being worked on to be brainwashed under Contessa's control.
7) Anatomy for Disaster: I personally put this a little higher as I do find some interesting moments that happen in this chapter. Sly getting a mega jump pack which is fun, Neela even betrays her own boss to become Clock-La, Carmalita and Sly shooting Neela right out of the sky and of course Bentley losing his ability to walk.
8) The Predator Awakes: It's my least favorite chapter of the game, as I at times forget about this chapter. You do sabotage Rajin's spice operations by destroying a dam, his spice grinder, hand made communications array placing a bug in his office, and of course robbing Rajin himself personally. Nothing really scream out excitement, though the plot twist of Neela's betrayal is affected and Rajin's boss fight is alright.

I noticed this too, I feel that each game has their best level as the 1st level. Sly 1 was I feel was tide of terror's 1st level, Sly 2 was Paris, France. And Sly 3 was Venice, Italy

I gotta admit I really don't understand why you put A Tangled Web so low in the ranking, my absolute favorite level design of the entire game. The tank missions were major weak points of course, but the climax of the operation going all wrong, the war between the Contessa and Neyla reaching its boiling point and the boss fight atop the gothic castle , made it such a blast to play

You may hate the tank section but it’s how tanks are in real life.

All fun episodes, lots to do and a really good vibe. Love this game.
I remember everybody was in awe when uncharted 2 did the moving train section(and sure it was cool) but calling it unique... I was like "you guys never played Sly 2 have you?
The tank mission?
I think I had to do it 2 or 3 times, then after that I finally beat it.
Don't forget that mission with Bentley controlling the helicopter, and you had to destroy all the enemies before you got one more hit before mission failed.
I 100% agree regarding Episode 8. When people talk about their complaints regarding Sly 2, many people say they felt it dragged on a bit . The reason I think some people felt that way was because episode 8 was the weakest and least interesting episode.
I am kinda torn regarding Episode 1. It is the ICONIC sly cooper episode. The music is superb, the villain is great, it's a great intro to the game, and Paris + Sly Cooper is such a vibe. That's what makes it iconic imo. I am torn though because the missions aren't as exciting and the hub world is less interactive than the other ones. Let's look at He Who Tames the Iron Horse. Like you said, we have bears, a train in the hub world that you can ride, and that is involved in an awesome mission, Bentley's RC chopper, Carmelita roaming the hub world, the availability of the paraglider, all contributes to an episode with more interactivity in the hub world, more variety in the missions, and overall enjoyment.
Your complaints regarding navigating in The Predator Awakes are valid. I agree. I also think A Tangled Web also has some issues there.

I agree with the ranking, the last episode (Anatomy for disaster) lack of scribed as @VTNVIVI said why does Neyla want immortality? I also feel the last episode could’ve been a little bit more difficult.

My favorite part out of Sly 2: Band Of Thieves, is when Bentley had to learn how to drive. 😂
Jailbreak was the funniest and the most where the light is on Bentley more, overcoming his fear.

Hey Vivi I was playing the latest sucker punch game Ghost of Tsushima and it turns out their is a hidden achievement called “Cooper Clan Cosplayer” and you dress up in armor that sort of makes you look like Sly especially with the cane on the headband and it’s starting to make me think are Sucker Punch completely done with the Sly Series or still thinking about returning to it with this little nod to Sly

Remember that SP also had Sly easter eggs in Infamous....we never got a game from another Sly them :/ Also, Sly isn't the only easter egg in the game. So for now, I'd like to not overthink it :)
