This amazing ,I'm also trying to develop a similar character that is a sheep but I haven't figured out facial animation especially getting his eyes to blink,could use some help with that.
If you're using blender you could use shape keys
If you're using Maya I could give you a python script that auto generates the eyelid rig.
This is the first time I actually see someone do this well
most of the time people don't talk when they see something that's not real, or shake the camera so much to make it seem real but this looks way better
