- Here's an F1 onboard lap at the Isle of Man TT Mountain Course in the Isle of Man.
This hotlap is driven in Assetto Corsa with Lewis Hamilton in his F1 2020 Mercedes W11 challenger. (RSS Formula Hybrid 2020).
The Isle of Man TT course is a 60.7km (37.73 miles) long race track that hosts motorcycle events.
Known as one of the most dangerous circuits in the world due to its high number of fatalities, I always wondered what it would be like if an F1 car took on this beast of a circuit.

This track would have the longest straights and the slowest corner at the same time
That's why it is so dangerous. The slow corners are absolutely lethal.

HELL YEAH! Just take off the rear wing, you'll be fine XD
And requiring a very tricky setup. Monza setup means you'll gonna lose speed at corners. Monaco setup means you don't have high end top speed.
@@r.a.6459 In slower corners it’s more about mechanical grip, this would pretty easily be the lowest wings track.
FIA would be like: Yeah, 15 minutes of quali time would be enough

The track itself is windy, treacherous, built for the most skilled drivers, it’s difficult, it’s a challenge, it combines the old Spa, Norsschlife without the elevation changes, the AVUS, Pescara, the old Hockenheim, Monza with the 1966 configuration without the Monza Oval, and even the Citcuito Della Ma Domie or however you say the name of the track on the island of Sicily in Italy. But either way all that is the best way I can describe this course overall.
Without elevation changes??? The difference between highest and lowest point is more than 400 metres and the total elevation gain is around 800 metres.
Oh my god, you did it !! That was an absolutely insane lap !! Now I understand why you took so long to finish the video. You didn't even have time to do the car's external view. Just imagine a GP Isle of Man of F1: 5 laps in length. Passing more than 320 km/h next to houses and parking lots would be insane !! 13 minutes lap, my goodness 😱! Nürburgring Nordschleife?!?! What Nordschleife?!?! Congratulations MITSOS, this was a very crazy and sensational race lap !!
Unfortunately I couldn't find a camera mod for this track and there wasn't one in the track itself, so I couldn't get the replay in! Thank you though, this was a really hard one to do but I enjoyed it, and I am glad you did too!

I wish Tourist Trophy had this iconic circuit. It sounds like a homework assignment trying to get the entire circuit memorized.
I'm surprised they never did a Tourist Trophy 2, even with how limited that game was compared to GT4, it was a really fun proof of concept.

It's more of a rally stage than a racetrack, but it's interesting to see what a F1 car could do. I think the car could be cranked up for top speed a little, in real live you'd go over 360 km/h.
On the one hand it was a great, impressive drive. Onthe other, actually driving would be absolutely crazy, every corner is a literal death trap. I saw the record guy on a Subaru and he was changing gears and braking ten times as many times as you.
Modern F1 cars really kill many tracks, you just can drive them.

There's a video of rally driver Mark Higgins doing a full lap here in his Subaru STR and it's impressive. Plus, I live in the Isle of Man.

A little understeer nearly caught him out more than once. Still, that was bloody impressive speed around that circuit, and he could be quicker!
Long circuits
Francorchamps Spa: I do it in 1 minute and 45 seconds
Le Mans:meh I do it in 3 minutes
Nürburgring nordeschleife: um I do it in 5 or 6 minutes
Isle of Man: bwoah I do it in 13 minutes
Enceladus: hold my entire moon circuit around the equator... good luck for 7-hour laps

Based on the length of the track a full grand prix distance of this track would be just 5 laps (190 miles / 37.75) and would take roughly the same amount of time 90 minutes as a regular race
Imagine screwing up the lap in the first corners and having to wait probably 13mins to get another chance

Long time ago when Hailwood was there I seem to remember them asking him to take an F1 car round.
He said it wouldn't get round.
This is far smoother than the course I remember.
Well it is important to remember that this is a modded map on a racing sim. The guy who did it most likely couldn't have the time or access to the actual elevation changes, bumps, track width and other stuff. Also no lampposts, no sidewalks, no bus stops...
I agree with Hailwood there. Don't think an F1 car can last a whole lap in real life. Really long straights where you are at full speed so you need a very reliable powertrain, and with suspensions that are this stiff on a F1 car, going through places with sudden elevation changes such as the Ballaugh Bridge (bikes "jump" past it at 140 km/h, Mitsos goes past it at 5:32) might be hard...
This feels illegal on such a bike track........I love it
Next: Nordschleife, Pescara GP, Linas-Monthlery, Brooklands & Igora Drive
Put this on full blast and your family will think you're doing the hoovering
