Thank you for this. My 11’ SRX is NOT AWD and thus made it a bit easier to accomplish this job. I did NOT take off ABS sensor knowing I ran the risk of braking it. Also, I did NOT take off the e-brake stuff. The bearing came off with WD-40 a lot of hammering, tapping and some patience and it finally came off. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would say this is a 3-4 in terms of difficulty.
Rubber mallet? Those don’t come off without a torch and air hammer up where I live. They still pay the same flat rate down there?
Can you post a pic of where to place the jack? Thanks
What year is this? Is this awd I have a 2013 and it’s pretty rusty my mechanic using wd40 but didn’t let it sit long doing a lot of hammering
Not necessary to take the whole e brake assembly apart. It all comes off together at once with the wheel bearing hub. That doubled the work involved.
So did you have to push the clip out from between the frame first before disconnecting? For the sensor?
You should have taken the wheel sensor out first and you probably would not have broken it. Also have done wheel bearings before and not had to take apart the emergency brakes.
IF IT WAS BROKEN, YOU SHOULD HAD AN ABS LIGHT ON IN THE DASHBOARD. THAT LINE SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED PREVIOUS TO TAKE THE WHEEL BEARING OUT. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO.
