I like what you said that would be perfect so we can get back to enjoying GAC again.. the problem I've seen is you keep getting the same DCs over and over unless you whale on them and that's not going to happen for me
I like your line of thinking, but I think datacorn should only apply bonus mechanics. Stat changes should be left for mods. I would also like only one set at a time.
im not against that either! fine idea :) could cut all the stats altogether
Thats a good idea condense them, and make them usable by all, i hate this thing where a toon is oped for 2 months

Honestly I would just get rid of the faction/character specific boosts. Currently they just break a character or faction so that they can do insane things not because of the player’s skill level or theory crafting but because they whaled on it. LV as much as I love him didn’t need to become even more broken, same with JMK and Rey in the past especially now that we’re getting conquest lifters for all GLs. The stat boots I’m glad they’ve cut down on since set1 but I still feel like anything more than 15% is too much. I really liked that Aayla got a specific data Ron but for a turn based game, spamming bonus turns or having 0 cooldowns is just not fair imo
It’s really dangerous in turn based games to mess with the absolute foundational aspect; taking turns. Gotta do it way more gentle imo

Seriously tho I’d get rid of everything but one faction/alignment bonus, maybe 2. The balance is already so close that small changes should shift the meta without being obnoxious
I would limit it to 2 stat boosts, LS/DS bonus, and a faction bonus. Lower the first two gear requirements from R3 to G12. Like you said, they are too much and need to be simplified.

I agree with you 10000% and not just because you have great hair.
If you want to be competitive at the top end you have to spend loads of time in game. Playing the game is like 10% of what's involved and for busy people with lives that sort of ruins it. I consciously spend far less time in game since datacrons because now it's a chore. I'm here for the 10%!
One very simple change could end a lot of the frustrations that came with DCs.
Just let them work only once on defense.
This way a player in GAC or a whole guild in TW wouldn't get stuck in the first sector.
DCs would only make you loose banners if you cannot beat them on the first attempt.
Reduce the RNG for obtaining and rolling DCs. This last Conquest, I fought the DC battles over and over and over and got only 1 DC drop. It was about 1/30. Absolutely ridiculous. On top of that the best abilities are so rare it gives people who pay for re-rolls a big advantage.
I don't mind the structure, but yes the 3,6 and 9 need to be simpler. Remove them from GL's OR minimize it to be the equivalent of another mod set at most. Honestly, if you look at the different stats of a toon before anything, it's hard to understand how that mix works anyway. Adjusting one or more of those levers is hard to process. Yes speed, offense, crits, health, protection, but the type of damage, type of defense, etc... that's a lot already. For a lot of toons, these other stats are not relevant. They should highlight the most relevant stats for a toon so you have SOME idea if adding to that stat will even matter.
Reduce the relic requirements. Requiring R5 for level 6 bonuses to apply is really tough.
I'm a GAC focused player, like most content creators. But look at what DCs have done to TW. Before DCs, TW was totally stale with every guild setting the same walls of the same GLs up front. After DCs, we now get new walls of GLs every few TWs. This must be an improvement, right? This is what CG promised from DCs, isn't it, to shake up the meta? Except, these new walls of GLs are even worse than the old walls because the stupidly OP DCs can make them impossible to break through. Is that an improvement?
As long as people are spending on them they aren't going anywhere.

No stupidly OP abilities or stats. DC's can make kits and mods virtually irrelevant.

@@TheRealGridan ok, I would be fine with a little extra damage, potency, tenacity, ca, etc. Whatever are in mods add in a little more in datacrons. 40% dodge is ridiculous lol.

edit: if i had any say in how these datacrons operate, firstly i would reduce the number of effects and stats they provide, secondly i'd take them away from GL-s and thirdly i would remove the relic requirement from the whole team so that only the individual character needs the relic 7 for their datacron
makes these changes and take them out of gac, cg has lost tens of thousands of players since datacrons came out. im fine with them in a setting where if i cant clear one overpowered datacron, someone else can pick up the slack.
Too bad CG will never listen even to the content creators they’ve talked too
