- NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg arrived in Kyiv on April 29 for a surprise visit. In a press conference, Stoltenberg said that the NATO is working hard to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs. Ukrainian President Zelensky said that Russia is taking advantage of the lack of weapon supplies to Ukraine. Stoltenberg said NATO will ensure that weapon deliveries announcements are turned into real deliveries. Meanwhile, Poland’s air force has said it has the technical capability to defend the skies over Ukraine's western regions with its air defenses. This all started when Putrid broke the Budapest agreement.
In the late 60's early 70's, the U.S. had hypersonic anti ballistic missiles. The Soviet Union didn't have the technology and they created a treaty with the U.S. not to produce and deploy hypersonic anti ballistic missiles.
The U.S. ceased producing them, dismantled and destroyed those they had deployed.
A few years ago, ruZZia became able to produce such missiles. Putrid said they wanted to temporarily pause the treaty. Then proceeded to produce and deploy them. After over a year, the U.S. said ruZZia had broken the treaty and it was null and void.
Putrid then claimed the U.S. had broken the treaty. ruZZia has broken multiple agreements in this manner.

Well sure... we can shoot down missiles going to Ukraine. but it generally would mean shooting down missiles over Belarus. Most of these missiles don't cross into Polish territory, those that do are within airspace for like 20 seconds at most. To reach it in time a missile needs to be fired when target is still in Belarus's air space. You see the problem here.
Also, Poland has only 2 oversized batteries at the moment that are not in full combat readiness yet, deployed around Warsaw, and single missile costs like 2 mln USD. Generally stationing patriots near border is currently out of the question, 6 more batteries are on order and with 8 batteries it will be only enough to protect capital and some critical infrastructure. All it means is that to shoot down missiles going to Ukraine we would need to rotate F-16's near border constantly, and shoot down missiles over Belarus. Risking starting full scale war. We don't have air tankers at the moment either so F-16's would need to swap every like 3 hours.
Meaning realistically each flight of 2 to patrol border would need to involve at least 6 aircraft and something like 12 crews. Alternatively experimental Narew could be deployed in that area but that is currently used to train anti-air crews and preparing groundwork for future larger rollout of the system.
So you could say that while it's possible for Poland, it's not really politically and economically viable at current point in time.

Zelensky didn't try to prevent the conflict through diplomacy because he lacks honor and integrity.
In 2014 there was a coup. Soon after, there was a massacre in Odessa (dozens of people were burned alive). Ethnic Russians living in Ukraine were treated as subhuman. Their language and culture was being oppressed. A civil war broke out due to the rise in ethnic tensions. For 8 years the Ukrainian military was indiscriminately shelling civilians living in Donbas.
If Zelensky honored the Minsk agreement and pledged neutrality, none of this would have happened. The 8 year civil war would have ended and Donbas would have remained part of Ukraine. War is the ultimate failure of diplomacy.

Russia clearly stated that Ukraine joining nato was a red line (November 2021) and unfortunately this concern was never taken seriously. The Russians openly stated: if nothing changes, we will be forced to act in order to defend our national security. Enhancing the national security of one country at the expense of another is unacceptable. The Russians have legitimate security concerns.

yea, then poland is now a legitimate military target for rockets and drones. I don't think their defensive pact would feel comfortable with missiles being directed at poland, flying into their airspace to hit its targets. This isn't video games where you can sit outside of the map and cheat by sending infinite soldiers to win the round, that means DIRECT involvement, and makes them 100% in the right to bombard them with rockets, as thats where the military personnel is coming from. A foreign country, who's aiding the country that they just declared an official declaration of war on as opposed to calling it that "special military operation" like they did before... Мам, я хочу, чтоб кончилась война, чтоб мы спокойно во дворах гуляли, чтоб мы в подвалах не сидели, мам, и чтоб по нам из «градов» не стреляли. Хочу, чтобы вернулся мой отец, такой родной, живой и невредимый. Мам, разве я так многого хочу? А ты всё говоришь: терпи, любимый. Ты говоришь, что солнышко взойдёт, что будет мирным небо голубое, что я узнаю, что такое мир, и что наступит время золотое. Ты говоришь, деревья будут цвесть, отстроятся дома, театры, скверы. Ты говоришь, осталось мало ждать, и что нельзя утратить нашей веры. Ты говоришь, всё будет хорошо и мы забудем, что такое «грады», что мы повесим в зале на стене отца-героя Родины награды. Ты говоришь: гордись своим отцом, он жизнь отдал за мир, за нас с тобою, он шёл Донбасс от нечести спасать, которые пошли на нас войною. Сынок, родной, всё будет хорошо. Ты для меня дороже всех на свете. Но ты, сынок, всё в памяти храни и о войне расскажешь своим детям. Какой ценой был завоёван мир, про Сашку расскажи, про Юльку, Бима, про то, как шли к победе столько лет, что армия была непобедима. Всё помни, сын, рождённый в дни войны. Пусть твои дети войн не испытают, но ты им, сын, об этом расскажи, пусть ценят мир и свято охраняют.
