Had the same exact issue. Instead of removing the rubber to make the handle work correctly, I got a Mercedes original part. Almost twice the price, identical when looking at it but, once installed in the same exact way, worked perfectly and sits completely flush. I agree, The rubber bit is there for a reason 😅
I have a vag(ina) edition -09 and the cheap shit works ok....was a shitty install though as it's a bit different shaped from that plastic bit which grapples the aluminum latch... ..just got it working, but cut my fingers bloody doing it😂😂😂😂😂
Hello, You have an old video from 4 years ago where you checked the bucket tappets on your Mercedes OM603 with a red tool. You said you would upload a video with the fix. Did you manage to fix that clicking noise? Been watching your channel for years. Thanks for the great content.
@@derekkchung no. It won't, obviously you don't understand how the system works and even if it did it's a door. Doors get full of water all the time. That's why there's drains at the bottom
@@derekkchung engineers are not in the field. Their lack of real-world understanding is hilarious. While i have done this repair without removing the rubber isolator, it is not there for a weather seal. It's a sound damper when releasing the handle.

Yeah I wouldn't have just not used a piece through expediency. As a customer I would have had serious questions re. this.

Aren't you worried about water entering the door where you removed the rubber piece?
Go behind the latch and push it to the open position(towards door) then there is room to insert handle -keeping the boot.
Very helpful. I did mine in only 15 minutes.

aliexpress or ebay
Thanks for sharing.

Top 👏👏👏👏👏
The rubber is there for a reason. U cannot just get rid of it.
It's there just for people like you to cry about it
@@mastermnd22 Cry about WHAT? When the rubber is missing, RAIN WILL GET IN!

@@mastermnd22 You are not wrong but if a rubber is there, there is a reason it is there and any professional would not simply discard it.
