During his multi-faceted 6 1/2 decade professional career--selling many millions of Tijuana Brass albums along the way--Herb reached the top of the U.S. pop singles charts just twice: the 1968 vocal ballad “This Guy’s In Love With You” and this unexpected 1979 instrumental dance hit, co-written by his nephew Randy. The record’s popularity was enhanced at the time by its repeated presence during one of the more controversial plot sequences in TV soap opera history (look it up).
