This was so emotional, David really earned this win. You can see how proud his children are of him. David has been my favourite contestant so far.

Your daughters are so beautiful. You have such a handsome boy, and now being able to give them everything they deserve is such an accomplishment that can never be out done. Ever since i saw the episode when you explained you're a single dad and could never give your children the things they wanted, I was hoping you'd be the winner. Every thing you've endured and put up with now provides you with a better future. You were my favorite out there.

I really wanna send a message and pay tribute to David. I was routing for him from the start due to his down to earth fun attitude, then saw his determination too and earned my respect. Such a nice guy, and amazing father. All the best!

I rooted for you from the beginning because U were a single dad of 3 and a lot of people talk about how far they'd go for they're kids but you literally showed the world congratulations my friend you deserved every single cent.

I'll be honest this year has sucked for me; tore my Achilles (and dealing with it) Hillary Clinton being nominated.. It's been a horrible year... But seeing David win last night aww man that made my day.... I was rutting for him the whole time... Didn't think he was going to win because most of the people on the show where extremely qualified... as he was... But Dave, dug deep; he had purpose; determination and he made it... Congrats...!!!

Yayyyyy Dave won, although my pick was for Jose, we are happy Dave won. We were of the anyone but Larry crew. Larry's win would have been a bummer.
I agree with you. I'm happy that Dave won -- he loves his children so much and kept plugging at it through starvation, hypothermia, and hurt knee. He was a bit clumsy, I think, but he is so persevering. He's funny, too, and waxed poetic and philosophical which was beautiful. The only thing I didn't care about is his implying that "God" singled him out as the special one to be guided and protected and that, by equal implication, "God" had intended that he will be the one to win the big money. Not Jose, not Nicole -- both of whom are such equally decent and beautiful souls. Jose had as much need of the money, but somehow "God" favored Dave to get it. This kind of belief makes me furious. The idea of "God" who favors "His" *special ones* -- i find that reprehensible. But I digress. I am really and truly happy David won because, above all, it meant Larry did NOTwin.
The show editors were skillful in arranging the last tap-out scene to turn out to be such a nail-biter.
I, too, rooted for Jose to win. He was always calm, cool, level-headed, and never said a cuss word throughout his ordeal (that we could hear, anyway). When he spoke of his wife, it was always with tenderness, respectfulness, and humble confidence in her own love for him (I deduce that from the fact that he never expressed a fear that she will judge him as a failure, or see him as a disappointment, if he loses the bid for the prize. ) He would have persevered, too, and probably would have won, if he didn't have that most unfortunate kayaking accident. I love his parting words, when the rescuers were picking him up: "I did not quit because I ran out of LOVE; I quit because I ran out of body heat." Jose deserved that big prize (along with Nicole) -- he was a master bushman, creative and resourceful, and he is a soul with quiet fortitude. Now, THAT other guy -- not David, of course -- I was cringing at many of the words he uttered in his outbursts. Not just the cuss words. He would alternately declare love and appreciation for his family, and next thing he'd be saying he doesn't trust enough his wife's love for him, how he hates that he has to work for a living, etc. etc. I feel bad hearing those words.
Nicole, I love her, too. Right up there with Jose. But the prolonged absence from her young children was truly NOT good. She made the best and only right decision -- enough was enough. Though she had proven so clearly that she is more than capable of being a wilderness survivor for a long period of time, there was just no sense in jeopardizing her health, and emotionally depriving her kids, when it was so uncertain how much longer she had to gut it out in a deprived situation.
Man, I wish there were THREE big prize money to be awarded. Jose, Nicole, and David each deserve to have one.

I just started watching season 2 on Hulu.... I am not finished so I just exposed myself to a spoiler
This show reminds me of how our Messiah was lead by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tested by the fallen one. And even though his flesh was weak, his spirit remained strong.(KJV)Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak... I believe we all should go through this experience. To be tested not only by our wilderness, but to confront the pain that we may hold deep within us. May we come to peace with our past and present. May we come to appreciate every breath we take, for the very breath we take is of our Heavenly Father which is our sole... and always remember brothers and sisters, never stress about the things you need. seek first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness. And all these things shall be added unto you. (KJV) Matthew 6:30-34... God bless you all and those around you.
