Larry, not sure you'll see this but I needed to put this out into the universe to you. Watching yours, and everyone's journey on this show was incredibly moving. I couldn't bear to watch your breakdown, and I cried through the whole end of it. My heart broke for you. For all the incredible work you did and to see you so sad. You did what most people on this earth may never even dare to test themselves with. You are an inspiration and are a true champion.
Thank you for sharing so much of yourself, for doing something incredibly inspiring, and for showing us your humanity. You are a winner in my eyes because you had the courage to face this challenege with everything you had. I wish you all the good luck in the world! May you get what your really want and deserve out of life!!

I have been looking for the best place to put this comment, and this is probably the one. My whole family rooted for you from Day 1, Larry. I knew you were going to make it to the end, and just a little sad that you didn't win. You did your best, and left it all on the table. I appreciate your comments near then end about how you reached your limit, then went farther. Not many people can claim that they ever really reached their absolute end, physically and mentally, let alone surpassed. We really enjoyed watching you and will continue to support your journey through watching you on your UA-cam channel. I don't want to sell David short, by any means. I did not think he would make it there for a while, but he proved me wrong. He proved many people wrong and solved his puzzle for the win. A great season of Alone. Cannot wait until Season 3. Patagonia, anyone?

You did great! Watching your personal growth and how strong you were for so long was the greatest. I was rooting for you and ultimately you did win. You're family is proud of you and I hope you're proud of yourself too. Nothing but respect for your journey. Congrats!

Larry replied he tried...he didn't try...he friggin' did it. He won, he just didn't get the $. Jose won, too. All three, and Nicole (LOVED her), are outstanding human beings. D*mn good people. (I just came upon this show during the 2020 pandemic....it's helped me during this time). I needed to see this show.

Honestly, at first it was hard for me to watch how much you make it all harder on yourself with all this negativity, that you hate it you hate it you hate it... but totally besides that, you stick through AND you passed your limit and broke your ego - I think you make the greatest gift to your wife with that, I'm so happy for you, you did great!!!

If he had really, truly never quit on ANYTHING in his Life to that point, then he had been extraordinarily fortunate. To feel the self-disappointment in surrender is something very humbling. Lessons learned, painful as they may be.

First and foremost, the contestants of season 2 had it much, much much more easier than any other season. They didn't have to deal with rain, snow winds and freezing temperatures. This season was a cake walk and to think that the person who won didn't make it until the 100th day is mind blowing. Larry here, he is a character. In the first episode he's all loving his wife and talking positive things, but once he's out in the elements, he starts cussing like a sailor. But also in season 5, "redemption" he's totally doing everything wrong!! Like when he's fishing, the first time he catches a fish, he shuts it down for the day and takes it back to camp to clean and cook it. You keep fishing until it's too dark/cold to fish!!! Your trying to catch as much as possible so you have a cache built up!!

    Incredible just incredible.
I was rooting for Larry and honestly think he could have won but it came down to two very stubborn men and one happened to have access to food just a bit more than the other. In a situation like this,I imagine a crab could make all the difference in the world.
Larry showed big heart and survived what almost anyone else couldn't.
I just hope Larry sees what we all saw. Crazy man toughness!

I didn't like Larry, at first, because he seemed to blame inanimate objects for anything that went wrong. But, then...as his story unfolded, you saw where his anger came from - he was not happy in some areas of his life. As time went on, he became one of my favs - he allowed himself to be vulnerable. My hats off to him realizing the world didn't need to change, he did. He's a good man. I wish 2nd place got some $, too.
And, he made me cry more than any other contestant! :-(

The interesting fact, all the tap outs, almost everyone said, they would miss the beauty, they had no hatred at all... they all learned thinga about themselves. And none of them walked away the same person... In some ways, emotionally risky... You can overcome almost anything, with the proper attitude, and nothing with the wrong attitude.... Getting to know me...

***** The one and only reason we could not support you is your foul mouth. My grandkids were not allowed to watch the show with me. They do not hear that language or see that aggression at home or our home and I will be danged if they hear it via History Channel prime time. Skills wise we give you about a 73% and I hope you realize the skills you need to learn and brush up on.

Season 2 episode 6 Larry we all know it's tough out there. You are doing something I could never do, but dude...stop whinning. Stop being so negative. I know this was 7 yrs ago. Did you think it would be a bed of roses? You will probably never see this.

I thought this show was going to be about knowledge and practiced skill sets. Unfortunately it is a challenge of who willdie the slowest. Its proven the contestants CANNOT reach their daily caloric numbers. This show has zero input or gravity on any level.
    IT NEEDS TO STOP

TheBaconWizard I was not trying to be disrectful to the contestants. Not at all. Each person out there is as.brave and skilled as it gets no question. Its the location and availability of food. Sorry, the lack of possible food. I am certain that if there was food there ....THESE people have the best chances of getting.
