Many of people complain about BRZ & FRS being under-power, but actually it's okay. 200 Horsepower is competitive enough against this car's competition such as, MX5, S2000, and maybe Civic SI & VW GTI even though they're not rear-wheel drive. I agree torque is lacking compare to some of those competition, but it's what give car an unique fun factor. I drove my friend's FRS before, and it's a blast!
I don't understand why people think 200 horsepower is low. There are a lot of sport/ luxury sport cars that are under 250 and people still say their fun to drive. I think a massive amount of displacement can be a negative I've seen a lot of BMW m3/m5 drivers who struggle to drive their cars
They are basically the same car, just one is under the Scion name, and the other under the Subaru name, but they do have minor differences. The one Cooley is review-ing is the BRZ. There's also the GT86 under the Toyota name everywhere outside of the U.S.
200 hp does sound low until you hear how much the car weighs. It's more than sufficient HP, but the torque and being front wheel drive makes me think it's a 'fake sports car'. that being said I would get it in auto seeing as I commute everyday and half hour of that is bumper to bumper.
It's videos like these that show the true expertise of Brian Cooley. Keep fighting the good fight and telling it like it is Brian.

That torque is so low i am tempted to ask for a turbo everytime
I love go
Manual!
This car is not about 0-60.
I get a lot of look on my swp brz!! I love my brz!! :)
Ahhh a proper Cooley review.
I want this car!
Just searched and nothing is coming up anywhere about toyota bailing out subaru. where did you hear that
Why the hell would you want to do that?
All cars are about 0 to 60, among other things
fog lights is a package???!?! wtf...
I WOULD take the auto because I like to drink coffee, sms... etc. while driving
no that is because Toyota did most of the work on this car... Toyota perk for bailing out Subaru is 20% of Subaru parent company
Scion is allowed to make 6 FR-S to Subaru's 1 BR-Z. That's Toyota's perk for bailing out Subaru
Cue the inevitable comment comparing this to a Mustang.
and toyota
get an automatic.
Nope. Better tyres, that's all.
Slow 0 to 60
Only Americans drive auto lol!
