But seeing your passion and dedication to making this an honest to god send-up like this, seeing you having so fun making something that tugs so hard at the heartstrings of anyone who grew up watching Arthur, it really brings a triumphant, hopeful, inspiring aspect to a great rendition that might not have carried the same sweetness and optimism if we weren't seeing you having the time of your life creating it. Midwest Emo sounds like how it feels when you walk home from school on a gray autumn day, leaves lining the sidewalks, you feel a drop of rain or two as you cross the threshold into your home. The living room is carpeted, with wooden paneling, and warm yellow lamps replacing the typical ceiling fixtures. This living room is straight from the 60s, just like your parents, who will come home soon and destroy the solitude, instigating some kind of familial discourse instead.
That wasn't even my own memory I just described my friend's childhood home lmfao
You sure you didn't describe mine? There was so much discourse, we weren't even allowed to enter the house through said wood paneling living room from the 60s (or in my case, the rest of the house was like that, and the living room was a remodeled garage). Instead, everyone except my dad had to enter through the back door, into this weird tiny connecting room between the kitchen and dining rooms (the dining room which became used like a second living room, because the actual living room was being used as my dad's bedroom after he got permanently kicked out of sharing a bed with my mom)

I know that because I used to feel that way and now I see people I know and am on good terms with all the time. People who love me and are invested in me. I know their families, and I know what is going on in their lives. Church is a good spot to start finding community and it’s good for a lot more than just that is what I found.

Where I am, the leaves won't have browned at all by then. Usually not until some point in october or maybe november. In early september at the start of the school year here, it's still often quite warm... but maybe some late summer hints of chill in the air at times.

The specific episode you opened with hit me hard, as I was the annoying little sister to my older brother, and there were a couple of times he got physical - never in a truly bad way, but enough that I identified completely with D.W. there. This clip triggered a memory for me I wasn't ready for, a bit bittersweet remembering the real life struggle, but the comfort of finding a mirror of my experience on TV that helped me to understand everything and be more sympathetic for my brother (and be a little less obnoxious lol).
ALSO, since the whole point of the video is a Midwest Emo (lol) version of the theme song and not a trauma dump, I absolutely love this song.

Strangely enough, it gave me the exact same nostalgic feel for an entirely different genre.
These progressions sounded way too familiar to me, and I've never listened to Midwest Emo. Specifically the artist Home. Then it hit me, the only reason I even learned about Home was because of emo Simpsonwave videos with their more crushing tracks like Decay from the Odyssey album. Nothing more Midwest emo than living in Springfield, I suppose.
