    Rick, impeccable logic and reasoning as to the weaknesses and strengths of perforated panels, as well as the methods and products employed in your repairs. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It seems though it takes me at least two or more times watching your videos before it all finally sinks in :)

    So helpful BUT I have something you are not covering. It's a puncture hole from a dog nail and I don't know how to proceed. I have material and all the tools but where can I find the how to fix it on perforated vegan leather.

      It's a good idea to use alcohol and a cloth as a tack rag to remove sanding dust and clean off any hand oils transferred. Also it prepares for any air dry fillers if you need them.

    Hello again dear sir! Is Bison or Gorila super glue gel suited for this type of aplication or it must be a specific flexible super glue gel ?

    I've been detailing for 22 years and you seem like the perfect person to answer this question. What's your take on Leather Conditioners ? In other words are they really necessary ? I would think since factories put a thin clear coat on the leather seats that a conditioner is just a selling point. I can't really verify that though. Can you give me your opinion ?

    • @a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247
      @a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247  2 роки тому +2

      You are quite right. The protected leather used in most automobiles is topped with a pigmented polymer with likely a thin clear polymer topcoat which is crosslinked. You can think of the synthetic polymer coating as layer of plastic. So getting conditioner to the leather fibers underneath is next to impossible unless the coating is compromised. If the intent of the conditioner is as a slip agent to help prevent abrading the seat when sliding in or out then it might serve somewhat for that. see v71 where wax prevents conditioning. Thank you for the great question!

      Dremel tool. The bits are from my windshield kit. I use either .025 straight shank or .035 burr depending on the perf. Thanks

    Good to know for tiny repairs. I had to do one a couple days ago that was like 4 inches long and the foam was sticking out. Did not come out ideal. I tried to convince the customer to reupholster and they said just do what you can.... I am really disappointed in repairs like that. It did not come out ideally, makes me feel like I did a bad job.

    Incredible !! It's all great but. Personally working in a dead end job with a team Lead breathing on ones neck it's impossible to achieve rapid results and worst of all get training in this field

      It’s made by Loc**** ultra super glue gel. Rubberized formula for anyone else wondering. Glad I watched this fine expert before I tried to use clear silicone to repair a tear without missing material.

      I have had a lot of requests. I could work fulltime for a year just publishing videos I have. But I have to work like everyone else. A video like this takes a lot of work to put together so it's been on the back burner. Also I like to alternate between how-to videos and something of more current interest and relevance for me too. Thanks for joining in! (reading minds only in my spare time)

    Majority of viewers are not watching videos to admire your skill, but to learn something. Very difficult to do when u not offer information. I have noticed u have ignored any requests for information on what u r using. So why bother to post, for self promotion?

      Suppliers wish to not be a part of my channel. And I am nobody's water carrier. This channel went up as a service to the public to let them know that better repairs can be had if the technician would only aspire to a greater level of proficiency. It is helping many who are in the business too. I am posting repairs that my colleagues have requested. I have a video coming soon in which I introduce myself and reasons for posting these videos. I am retiring and have nothing to gain. In the meantime why not appreciate the innovations and the person from whom you are privileged to receive them..
