It’s not close to downtown. It’s not loaded with shops and cafes. But what it does offer is something unique that appeals to a huge proportion of the city. I have lived in Evergreen for 13 years, we are in our mid 40s and I would love to downgrade in my 60s to a bangalow but ALWAYS in Evergreen. I love Evergreen!! I love been 2 blocks away from Fish Creek Park and see nature so close. You can see anything from bobcats, deers, owls, birds, coyotes, etc. ♥️🌲🐿️🦌🐦🦉🐆🌲♥️
I love the ring road, it takes you anywhere super fast! We are 20 minutes drive to MRU, we have high schools, JH schools was the problem but it has been fixed.
We are in the CCSD and we didn't have Catholic junior high school in Evergreen, kids were sent to a school 20 minutes away by car but they had to take a 40 minutes public transportation ride and they were only 12 years old. That has been fixed our Catholic students are sent to a school in the next community of Millrise starting in Sept. 2020. A HUGE relief.
We don't own a community lake unfortunately or even have a community facility to hold larger family events as other communities here in the deep south west or east. But, Fish Creek Park makes it up. You can always add a pool to your backyard if you have small kids. I do ♥️ my 🌲 neighborhood.

@Matthew Li Apparently, there are, but I have never, ever encountered a snake in Alberta, not to mention in Calgary. We do have prairie rattlesnakes in deep southern Alberta, near Drumheller and lethbridge. In Calgary, not really, perhaps only Gartner snakes. Again, I never encountered one snake in 24 years living in Calgary.
I might be biased by I find Calgary, a beautiful city with tons of things to do outdoors. The best areas are NW & SW.

Evergreen is suburban hell
There are pro's and con's for anywhere in the city based on who you talk to... Sounds like moving to Evergreen shouldn't be an option you should consider 😉
What do you mean? I think suburbs are heaven. If you don't like it then don't live there haha
Evergreen looks beautiful. Would you rather live in dingy crowded old apartments? Urbanism is hell man.
