PS3 to splitter to video capture device to monitor how did you connect your pc? How was it connected? I don't see how you connected it to your pc other than clicking the app in your pc, is it wired or wireless connection?
I would rather record my PS3 with the hdmi splitter instead of using a av to hdmi converter box so the gameplay footage will look sharp and crisp when you are playing a PS3 game in 720p or 1080p
Which ever you feel comfortable with. Sometimes some older TVs may not have HDMI so I'm showing bith option incase someone doesn't have HDMI on their TVs or Montior.
I’ve been capturing my PS3 footage without a splitter, I’ve done a tutorial video explaining how but I’ve yet to see anyone try my method if it works for me I hope it will work for someone else
Flamevell because when you enter a game it changes video source so you’ll have to do it again, my suggestion would be just do the trick while your already booted into the game
@MrBob2012 will it work with normal hdmi? like from the ps4 and ps5?and i bought hdmi high defintion multimedia interface splitter im just waiting for the elgato to come
It should be fine. Just hopfully the splitter will work with the consoles to the capture card. Also remember the ps4 and the ps5 have the option to disable the HDCP from the console to use the normal HDMI cable to record and capture your gameplay from your external capture card.
I got a question, since I can't find any information specifically for the HD60S+. It uses a different recording software, 4K capture utility and not elgato game capture. Will this still work with that as well? I did not know about the PS3 HDCP and it honestly sounds pretty stupid.
It should still be fine with the 4K software from Elgato as long as the capture card does get detected from the software you should be okay. Overall the 4K recorder is compatible with all capture Cards. Here is the link for the download of the 4K software: www.elgato.com/en/downloads
1. Trying restarting your computer and unplug the type c cable from the device and plug it back in after you enter windows. 2. Close and open the software again. If it still happens, uninstall and reinstalled the software again. 3. Reset the PS3 video output. Turn off your ps3 and once completely off, press and hold the power button until you hear a 2nd beep or 3rd beep (I forgot which one) to reset the output on the PS3 to default and change the resoultion and output in the settings.
I'm not getting any audio. But i'm not streaming live with pc on OBS. I just wanna capture video. Yeah if I used my mic on pc it's capture. But I don't want any back ground noise in the video. I don't have a elgato though. I bought the 4K USB 3.0 HDMI Video Capture. The HDMI splitter is a Techole 4K UHD 3D. I can capture video but with no sound with or without the splitter.
1st. My guess will have to maybe be the capture card you have. Make sure to check your Audio Output Mode on the properties of the capture and play the other settings in there to hopefully get audio from your capture card. 2nd. Make sure you have the audio settings on the PS3 set to HDMI and check if you do get audio from the TV first. If you do get audio from the TV alone then there might be that some compatibility issue with the capture card to the PS3. I can't say that it is broken but I never own any other different capture cards.
Hey I did all the steps for the HDMI splitter But when I start a ps3 game, the screen turns black for the recording Is there anyway to not make this happen?
Make sure to unplug your capture card and plug it again from your usb cable. Reset the software on the elgato. Close it and open again. Make sure your input is on other in the software.

Well I have no problems with the quality on my TV at all. Also it depends if your TV is good for the quality and resolution. So I'm unsure how you mean the quality suffers. Maybe it might be the HDMI port your TV or might be the HDMI cables.
It should work but unsure because I've have had other people comment that they have other versions of elgatos and different upscalers/converter box that seen to not work with the the 2x Pro. I don't recommend you buy those cheap capture cards ones as well because you may get issues where theres no screen or video while using the RetroTINK 2X Pro. Its unfortunate that I don't have that version of the capture to test out to see if it works.

Does av2hdmi mini works with ps3 while recording as well?
Does it helps bypass hdcp?
Sorry for the very late reply. Also sorry I have never done it before with AV2HDMI which I don't recommend. do try using the HDMI spiltter.

are there any differences for using a mac/macbook pro instead of windows 10?
There shouldn't be a difference at all. Just be aware of what your hardware is. You can follow the same steps on your Mac with this video.
