Yum!! I love butterscotch pie and yours looks delicious. I need to make it. I have noticed that you have changed up your cooking show. You do such a great job. I love that you are real and share so many good recipes with us. Thank you!
Tammy, my grandmother use to make butterscotch pie by carmelizing white sugar in her iron skillet. Can you show us how to do this? One of those skills I was too negligent to learn from her when I had the chance. Love you and Chris and your wonderful videos!
I have an old cookbook from early 1900’s. No microwaves or pre-made crusts . I made the crust, cooked to butterscotch pudding in an old cast iron skillet. The ingredients seem to be the same, but try using a cast iron skillet. I do use meringue on mine. I may try whipping cream. Thx for sharing this. The cookbook was my granny’s and was given to my mom. When my mom passed, someone else got the cookbook. Possibly even discarded it when cleaning. I’m the only child that used the cookbook other than my granny and mom. I have searched for ten years trying to find the little cookbook. I think it was a ‘little gift from Clabber girl’
Yes I know they done it like that back then. But technology is a blessing and those women wouldn't use a wood burning stove because their mother did. My mama started using a microwave for pudding in the 90's and if you get a batter bowl and try it you will be amazed!
I really enjoy your recipes. Thank you for sharing ❤ Could you please share with me what range you have. I need one so terribly. I can't even fit a cookie sheet in the oven that's in the home I just bought 😮😂. I really like the one you have here & would love to find one. Does it have a warming drawer?
One of my favorite pies right there. I made one once but it didn’t have that good butterscotch flavor. Will have to try this recipe. Tammy’s recipes never fails!
Me 2, but now I know why. Tammy said the homemade butterscotch doesn't develop its full flavor til it sits overnight in fridge. So knowing this now, I'll try making it again.
I dont think I've ever had butterscotch pie. My Momma cheated me! Lol. I do remember as a kid, my grandmother had a candy jar on her coffee table that always had butterscotch hard candies in it, and I loved those things. If I make to heaven, my Momma got some explaining to do about some butterscotch pie! Lol.

Butterscotch meringue was my mother in law’s favorite pie, I made her several of them when we lived near each other, after we moved, I got her brother to buy one at a drive in restaurant that made homemade pies. She was so happy to get another pie. I loved my inlaws!
Love Butterscotch Pie! Mom made it when we were growing up and we could have eaten that whole pie between brother and I. I make my own brown sugar, I make a double batch of light then take half away and put it in container then I add more Grandma's molasses and make the rest dark, saves time and money doing it yourself and you rarely run out. I also make my own Cool Whip, it's so easy and it tastes and looks like store bought and it freezes just the same. Now you got me hungry to make butterscotch pie!
