I'd heard Brian say that he favours playing over or within chords rather than within scales before and I could understand what he meant... Now I do. Thanks man.
James ,great stuff very interesting ,have you ever done an in depth talk about the gear you use ,like amps ,strings , do you ever use a plectrum?, Sorry if you have done this already ,maybe you have a link for it Thanks again Bernie
Great lesson as usual. Thanks 🙏 for posting. One thing I’ve noticed about when Brian plays live is that he uses upstrokes on some of his power chords instead of typical guitarist’s downstrokes on power chords. I believe this might be a big part of his overall technique sound and tone. However, I wonder what his reasoning is behind this and why he prefers it. I’ve never seen him or anyone else for that matter ever discuss in detail why he does this. I was just wondering what are your thoughts 💭 on this? Thanks 🙏 in advance.
Luke Tollett I got mine from local guitar shop. But they are available at brianmayguitars.co.uk check my review of the website and guitar ua-cam.com/video/OAiimH8xySw/v-deo.html 😊
I love the way you pronounce Brian May! “Brian Meh”
that e-esus4 thing was the intro to doing all right
Very interesting! Please do another one dedicated to the harmonies and harmonisation in Brian's style, that'd be amazing!
thats a great suggestion :)
Agree really want to understand the intervals he uses to get those big harmony “notes” like on White Queen, Flash, and The Prophets Song
Theres a big one at the end of the solo on Breakthru
Best guitar teacher

The type of chord you play at the start where you can move it up the neck. Is that a barre chord?

I am. Obviously Brian uses a sixpence 😄
Thanks James, I'll bet you cause more Brian May guitar sales than Jamie Humphries?

Step 1. Be actual Brian May😂
