Adjusting Miter Saws For Accurate & Square Cuts
Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 чер 2024
- Adjusting your miter saws is one of the most important things you can do to improve the quality of your projects. Older miter saws and even newer ones often need calibration in order for them to cut accurate and square cuts. Today's video walks you through adjusting two different miter saws, one with a single fence system (Hitachi C10FSH), and one with a two fence system (Dewalt DW718).

This was the best tutorial I’ve watched!! Just saved me from throwing away a newish saw! I’ve had it for a year and I thought it came out of the box cutting bad but figured there was nothing I could do.
Glad it helped!
This is incredibly helpful. Easy to follow, detailed, professional. Well done!
Best , most thorough and easiest to understand tutorial on all of you tube for mitre saw calibration ....in my opinion. Well spoken and interesting....thumbs up 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Easily the best and most comprehensive tutorial available. Highly recommended if you are new to using mitre saws or just need to have a refresher. Thank you for helping me achieve better results mate.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for the comment.
I have watched your video several times now and it’s been very helpful in letting me know how to tune a DeWalt sliding Mitre saw my nephew has. It just goes to show that while you expect the new saw you bought to be accurate it’s always a good idea to check and make sure it is. When I get my new garage built I’ll be buying a new 12” Mitre saw and I’ve saved your instructional video to refer to in the future. You explained what to do step by step slowly and simply and it was easy to follow. Well done and as I did in a reply to a comment on thumbs I give you only thumbs up👍👍👍👍👍
Superb tutorial. No lost time, clear images, clear teminology, very good advices and very good warnings. You're a pro. Thanks.
Thank you for your kindness!
One of the best videos on this subject. Easy to understand and made it easy to perform the calibration process. Thanks!
Totally agree with you Jonnycakes, great video, going to use these steps on my own miter saw.
Purchased a Dewalt Miter-saw and noticed the cuts were not square. I knew it needed adjusted but really didn’t know how. Now I do. Great Video!! I’m a a fan and subscriber.. Thank You!!!

Yes it does!
This has to be the best video on UA-cam for calibrating a miter saw.
Wow, thank you so much for the comment.
I was noticing my miter saw wasn't cutting square. This video came out just in time before my next project. Thanks man!
Hope it helps buddy!
I really enjoyed this video. I now know how to calibrate my 1-fence miter saw. Btw- I never would have guessed you were British, I understood you 100% of the time! I can't stand to listen to instructional videos by foreigners because I often get lost on their pronounciation of words but NOT you! Thank You So much from an American, for this video and your clear speech!
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow!!!!! A very informative video. I need to calibrate my mitre saw. Will have a go at it. I saved the video to watch it again. I'll be needing to. Thank you.

Thank you so much for this video, very educational. As a new woodworker I didn't realize how many different adjustments a miter saw had to get it dialed in.
Glad it was helpful!
I think you are the best one to make us understand where we did a mistake 😂.

Sometimes I wonder what is going on in a person's life that they're so miserable they feel the need to give thumbs down on certain videos. Great instructional!
I hear you. Unfortunately, a lot of people are really struggling in this life. Thanks for watching buddy!
If i don't like the video then i just skip and move on unless it is really bad and nasty stuff is presented i would not give a thumbs down which obviously is not the case here
Thumbs up from me 👍👍
Because they’re mean-spirited.
You will always find those people...ignore them ...don't entr their shite into your brain...
I’ve tried a lot of sliding miter saws. No matter how well calibrated, they are flimsy aluminum and plastic things that can easily be pulled or pushed off the line by your own arm pulling on the saw handle. So I just bought myself a 500 pound DeWalt radial arm saw made in 1953, and calibrated that massive and well built iron monster. It never strays off the line.
NICE
Excellent!! This is exactly what I was looking for!😊 Thank you
Newbie woodworker, no experience with tools and learning as I go. Please can I take you home for a week?! I’m so impressed, you explained so clearly and didn’t talk too fast. I didn’t have to keep stopping so that my tiny brain could absorb what you said and you used words I understood. Thank you so so much. Subbed.
Thank you for the comment!
Outstanding instructional video demonstrating clarity and specificity (not an easy combination). Just calibrated my new DWS779, something I hadn't done on my previous saws but now realize the importance, especially when working with molding.
Glad you found the video helpful brother! Thanks for the comment.
