My mother did not drive and the library was too far to walk so growing up I did not read much or see many tv shows. I’m in my 60’s and I am now reading some stories I missed out on, this one intrigued me, I enjoyed it !

You have to be kidding me rn... i have been looking for this for YEARS!!!!! my mom and i were talking bc i couldnt get to sleep and neither could she, and she suggested i put this on and when she described it i recognized it immediately as what i have been searching for, i used to watch this all the time growing up, but could only remember one scene, not even the name or anything else, and after years of thinking, and searching, and it haunting me, here it is. 😑 absolutely amazing though, it helped me sleep very well as a child 😁

We had this on vhs as a kid, and throughout the 90's we wore that tape out. I've missed it so much.
I remember it too. F.H.E. I think the company was (the ones that released it in the US). I remembered particularly the part where Toad said "I'm not the least bit sorry, and I'm not going to say that I am"
...And the Toad Cane...which was an odd addition, considering how otherwise accurate it is.

I rented this so much as a child the Video rental store took pity on my mum and gave it to me as we must have easily paid for the VHS tape over 10x more than what it was worth

Yeah this version of the film took Rat's name literally by making them look like an actual rat because in the original novel his full name is Water Rat and a water rat is actually another word for a water vole so not really a rat at all the same here he's probably got one of the best designs in this version

I remember growing up with this when I was a kid! Whenever I think of Wind in the Willows, this is the version I think of. Thank you, Burbank Films Australia, for making this; I don't think my childhood would've been the same without this film.

In the Thames stop-motion series the judge that sentenced him even sees him again multiple times when she judges contests in River Bank but apparently has completely forgotten that she sent him to prison for twenty years.

Problem is the audio_alone is fully sufficient! But the illustration and animation are simply splendid!

They really took Rat's name literally with this version... he's a sewer rat here, when (spoiler alert for those who don't know the original novel btw) he was actually a water vole, not an actual rat.
I love the original version better but this is more for children

The scene on the train is a lot shorter than most adaptations as in this version the driver just kicked Toad off once he gave the game away where's the most versions and the original book the driver only become suspicious once he realises that there's another train following them with the police on board
