You've really developed a gift for aerial photography, James - you capture the vast emptiness of that landscape so well, yet also the wee group of deer far below - and I suspect I'd have been tempted into that water by your lunch-stop, back in the day...! And the best tributes we can pay to the departed are adopting parts of their lives that they loved, and in that sense, keeping them alive. I hope having done that helps you regain a better sense of peace.
So sorry to hear about the death of Dave Fowler. His expertise was evident in the videos you made with him on the Cuillin. I'm glad you've left those videos up as a tribute to him.
Lovely video James, really enjoyed it. Of all the mountains in Scotland, the Torridon, Loch Carron ones are my favourites. Very nice tribute at the end, very fitting.
Great stuff and a fine tribute to a man i only met for 5 minutes seems like he gave us all good advice about these wonderful scottish mountains respect X2 ✊ ✊
A lovely memoir of one of the Torridon Giants James. As you will be going back sometime I reccomend starting from the Beinn Eighe nature reserve car park by Loch Maree and taking in the 2 Beinn Eighe Corbetts as well by starting and finishing with the superb mountain path. Ruadh stac Beag I a particularly fine ascent from Meall a' Guibhais - my collie took some time to work out her way up it after several false routes so I actually beat her up. Incidentally what has happend to Lexie?
Thanks Eddie, will probably do that route next time! That sounds like a great day! My partner is a dog walker so Lexi is enjoying spending her days out with her dog pals at the moment 😁 was hoping to get her on a munro before the end of the year.. Cheers, James
Cracking one James. Great weather. AGAIN!! Like the comment about you taking the shorter journey to Torridon. Only 500 miles for me, dead jealous! Moving tribute to good old Dave Fowller. Still can't believe it was him on that fateful day in Glen Coe. Keep up the good work chap and be careful. All the best, Ozzy.
Hi James, wonderful video and the perfect tribute to Dave. What a stunning mountain and just amazing views in every direction. Thank you as always for sharing your days adventure with us. All the best Dave 😀⛰🥾🏴
You make the most impressive videos James. I love your professional work and coupled with your obvious love of the Scottish mountains. Passion and professionalism makes an unforgettable video.❤
@@ScottishMunroJourney I recognised where you were right from watching you sitting down after the hill start into the Glen. The small corrie where you stopped for lunch is as far as I managed but good for photos (on my channel). It was really good to see the views from the tops as I don’t think these days I can manage. Brilliant video as usual.
What a fantastic place James. I just done my first Crainlarich/Tyndrum top on August and plan on getting quite a few done before winter comes. Might see you if you get out of bed😅
Beautiful video and a lovely tribute at the end. Stunning footage of the ridge with great commentary throughout. Those deer were up there when I did it a few years ago, they were standing on the ridge with the cloud swirling around them which I was lucky to capture on my Beinn Eighe video. Thoroughly enjoying your adventures. Mick.
Absolutely gutted to hear the news about Dave. Doesn't seem like a second since you did the Skye videos with him. Seemed like a lovely guy. Take care up there 🙏
Another great vid👍 Looked like good advice doing it clockwise , your walk in seemed to take forever walking out. But taking .5 off for the scree/scramble ? Its very dodgie coming down it, one stumble and its a bad one 😱 Its an amazing area as you know , your video showed it off well 👍
Man that scree is absolutely awful- I did it in high summer and it was dry as powdered talc and might as well have been like climbing up sand. I just went for climbing the rocks on the side instead- I'm no rock climber but felt much more at home scrambling over those rocks than trying my luck slipping and sliding down that scree chute while a pack of other hikers try their luck in front of me (and drizzle my face with rocks as a result!) Great lighting that day! I had nothing but haze on mine!
It looks somewhat more empty in your video- I feel as though someone might have dislodged a pile of scree while falling down the chute (some people seem to just slide down and use their poles to halt the risk- I saw at least two older gentlemen do it. Not for me.)
Great video James and a good way to honour Dave. I'd be very interested to see your Munro map, is there somewhere I can find this? Also thanks for posting these videos they initially inspired me to begin my own Munro journey, 13 down in 2 months so far plus a few climbed before I began bagging them. These videos now serve as motivation and provide me with a great resource when I'm planning routes so I can visualise what I might encounter en route. Keep up the great work!
Thanks John 😁 glad you are enjoying the Munros! Im not sure about that, I do have a “Munro Map” on Walkhighlands but not sure if others can see it.. might try and put something together 😁 enjoy your munro journey, Cheers, James
Thank you ever so much once more, James, what a awesome scenery! No midges in Torridon this time? It seems you didn’t see no other hiker, is it really that empty in Torridon this time of the year? Kind regards, Martin
I had 2 wonderful days on Beinn Eighe in the late 80s and di all the tops. Then I took my 12 year old son to do Ruadh Stac Mhor in 2001 and he hated it so much he hurled rocks at my head all the way down the scree staircase.
So shocked to hear that the guide who died on the AE ridge was your guide Dave.. rest in peace. Sad news :/. I actually did the exact route James clockwise too back in 2021, with no views and didn't bag the summit cairn because i thought the trig point was it. But more experienced now. Really sad to hear about David and the two clients too. Stay safe. M ☘️
Beinn Eighe is one of the best of them, no question, and you really got some lovely footage of it. If you're interested, I went paragliding from the ridge recently: ua-cam.com/video/WDPY08saOjs/v-deo.html

Thanks Paul, I would have been tempted to go for a swim if it was closer to the end of the walk 😂
Thank you for this tribute to Dave
Wonderful James, wonderful day, quite good for golden eagles as well. Magic Thank you
Thank you 😁
My dad always used to call this mountain “Beinn Eighe hill”. I didn’t catch on for years!!
what a place, what a day out.
Another fine video James.
Yes, RIP Dave😢
Extraordinary footage James. And a moving tribute to your friend.
Thank you 🏔

You are a very accomplished communicator very knowledgeable and a joy to listen to . I shall be continuing to watch you on your journey.
Thank you 😁
Great mountain fantastic footage as usual well done
Wonderful We were there a couple of weeks ago. We walked the opposite way, no views from your second Munro and then it cleared. Fabulous
Its an amazing route 😁
Spectacular scenery, this mountain just breathtaking! What a scenery my friend
Beautiful part of the world. Great views.
My absolute favorite, lovingly presented.
Your videos are amazing. Inspiring!
Thank you John 😁
I'm with you, one of my favourites too. I think this is surely one of your best videos. Loved it. Nice tribute to Dave Fowler too.
Thanks Annie, I really enjoyed this one.. 😁
Absolutely stunning mate . Going there in a couple of days . Hopefully weather holds out to get those views !
Good luck with the weather & enjoy 😁
You’d think that scree chute would run out of scree the amount of traffic it’s had over the years . Fantastic video
You would think so, I thought the same with all the scree chutes on Skye.. Thanks for watching 😁
James
@@ScottishMunroJourney would you have a video of Bla Bheinn on Skye at all ?
Great one James, an incredible hill.
I did the same route in mid-August. What a mountain. Your brilliant footage helped me re-live a fabulous experience. Many thanks!
nice music
Absolutely amazing James 👏 right up there with your Inn Pinn 🏔️ video, great advice from Dave and a fitting tribute 🙏 atb Brian 👍
Thanks Brian 😁

Absolutely beautiful yet again! 👍. I’m up there for five weeks starting on Wednesday! Ben Lawers is first on the list. Can’t blooming wait! Well done.

Mermaids by Baluga Lagoon.
