  • ➤ Enjoy this distorted theremin metal cover over a heavy rock instrumental type beat backing track provided by YT Jam Tracks! Let me know your thoughts on the distorted theremin metal sound in the comments below.
➤ Theremin metal is something I'd specialize in. I grew up with all sorts of music as a kid like The Casualties, Pistols, The Ramones, No Doubt, The Specials, and other punk/etc bands. I can easily express myself performing heavy rock/metal on theremin. Might even try next time THEREMIN PUNK!
    ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
➤ This is a solely improvised Moog Theremini session! Each time I perform theremin with these backing tracks, it's something entirely different. That's my preference like, wing it. If you mess up, you mess up. That's apart of the theremin performance. If I'd specialize in any form of theremin playing it'd be improvised pieces of music. It's the urge the just play "in the moment".

@@CVinyl Excellent! Innovation is key! I haven't had too much experience experimenting with CV, but I know there is a WHOLE other universe of possibilities. Good luck! :)

what kind of theremin is this? i had a chance to try one at a museum the other day and was really surprised at how well i adapted to it. i can't play guitar or drums or other instruments really well but the theremin seemed to come almost naturally if that makes sense. would love to get one and start to learn how to use it in metal songs as well!!

That theremin I am using in this video is the Moog Theremini. It’s a digital theremin and it’s really the only Moog theremin on the market right now. (being sold new; but there might be a few more models) They go for about $399 -ish new. But you can probably find them cheaper used. I believe you when said you felt a connection with the museum’s theremin. Some people are naturally good at pitch “sliding” instruments! I recommend if you’re going for metal theremin, look into Burns theremins. I believe Burns theremins can be plugged directly into a guitar amp. Other theremins with full range of frequencies like the Theremini might destroy guitar amps over time. Another thing is the less knobs and menus the better. The Burns theremins have less knobs and that’s less confusing for beginners. Overall, I think Burns theremins would be more fitting for you, if you already have a guitar amp or want to use one with FX pedals. Hope this helps!

using an instrument like this in conjunction with a dimebag style guitarist would be groundbreaking, but i do think you're overusing the vibrato

That would be rad! I really relied on heavy vibrato back then. I've been trying to reduce my vibrato a bit and only use it 1-2 seconds after I hit the note. More progress to be made! Thanks for watching!! :)
