Dining On A $20,000 Flight

- Wait until you see the entrée. I never thought I'd enjoy a meal on a plane, especially given how much I hate flying. But, when you take a three Michelin star chef and the world's best sommelier (wine expert) and have them custom design a menu in the sky, how can it not be good?
I want to give a huge thanks to the whole staff on the plane for being so kind and generous throughout my flight. They let me film everything and were so incredibly friendly. Thanks for riding along with my in this journey!

Honestly me😂😂
Manny is enjoying a nice $20 flight down below. No meal service but has the friendly company of a variety of pets and plenty of cat food.
@Clararatio🤯
Lol. Cameraman aboose
Hey atleast he's not fired
@Clara shut up
@Josh the Joshey Boii 💀
Going on a 20.000$ plane, but enjoying Mc Donalds before leaving. You just have to love him lmao
@Clara no wtf
The only other person I know that would do that is Donald Trump, except he would just eat McDonalds on the flight.
I don’t love him
@@EddyG0rdo yes u do don't lie

Food looks pretty nice to me I would give it all a solid 8/10 based on looks. One day I'll get to experience fine dining at altitude but for now, I'm gonna have to stick to the little waffle thing you get on united, which I actually love!! In Holland, they call them Stroopwafel and are made fresh at markets and such.
omg its sonny :D
Stroopwafel is so good omg
That waffle is actually pretty legit. I just wish they started offering more "healthy" drink options in economy. If you're not getting water, club soda or coffee/tea, it's sugary sodas and drinks packed with HFCS. I absolutely love Ginger Ale/Beer, but I never realized how great it could get until I switched away from Canada Dry, which is a sugary mess.
@@nahor88 Seriously what's with every single thing having HFCS, it really sucks how it found it's way into our every day snacks and drinks, even food. But I'm totally with you, more healthy drink options and not "orange juice" that's packed with HFCS and other fake chemicals and what not, it's not healthy!
My dad's company flew us in first class on like a 12 hour flight and honestly it was the best thing, besides all the cool button and waiting lounge the people were super nice, I had this one lady serving me and she was the nicest person ever, I was only 13 but still
I think it's interesting how this meal probably tastes noticeably different on an airplane than if it were to be prepared on land. Since your taste buds are hindered when flying on a plane, the chefs probably had to season and prepare each dish differently, maybe more seasoning here and there, compared to how the same dishes would normally be made on land.
Surprised to see you here
I don't think that's how it works...
@@thunderscythe6423 Your taste buds are 100% effected by several factors on the plane - including the background noise, pressurized cabin, and dry air - all suppress your ability to taste sweet and salty food by at least 30%
@@OGSmappy oh i didnt know that thanks i just learnt something new
@@OGSmappy is that why the peanuts taste so much more salty when i arrive at the airport?
i love the fact that he rated a chicken sandwich from mcdonalds, the same rating as the salad from the flight that costs 20k and that gives you a tin of caviar

It just means he earns more per video than 20k😂
why are you here

Edit: Unless he have another Job?? Ya know and if some Brand or stuffs sponsored him then we can say he earn some more yeah

Just a word of advice Nick , when you’re finishing your soup and it’s hard to get the last spoon out, gently tilt the bowl away from you and pick up the soup with the side of the spoon . I know you would appreciate that the next time you’re fine dining
nick's voice is so calm in this video and the music goes well it was soothing and calming.
Loved this video so much. I know I will never be able to afford this. But seeing through Nick's eyes is quite fulfilling. Thank you Nick 💗
Nick you should fly Emirates first class. The food is splendid and in general the flight is beyond imaginable. I highly suggest you should try it.
Well lemme tell u… he did

Do more like this - this is awesome!
Air France has the best food… even in Business class too. Also Premium Economy and Economy passengers have the options to upgrade their meals for $15-30 and those meals are on par, if not better, than business class meals on other airlines.
i never thought plane food can be like this, as a european, all flights ive taken arent longer than 4-5 hours so id usually justt gett a bag of chips and nothing more, so it was interesting to see
@Az Op oh that make sense
Nick you should do more vlog videos, These are literally amazing.
I agree
As always good vibes with your videos ❤
The chill music fits really well with the flight
I love how he elaborate every single detail even though we don’t have 20 grand to go on a plane!!!
Well I have 20 grand. Not to go on a plane doe
@Fone YOUR CRINGE!
@Clara YOUR CRINGE!
I believe we all have over 20 grand in this mordern society but no one use that much to go on a plane, if you get those food on land it would not cost more than 1.5 grand

WOW 🤩 thank you for the expensive plane trip. That was really exciting!!!!! I really loved 🥰 it. The only problem is when the video ended I was in my own home. Happy New Year 🥳

Hey Nick, I'm going to the championship of my cooking competition tomorrow and I just wanted to say thank you because you're videos have helped me get this far and win the previous stages of the competition to get to where I am now. In case you wanted to know, I'm doing a stuffed sea bass on a bed of samphire and spinach with a side of dill and cover butter potatoes dressed with a lemon and caper butter sauce.I would do more but sadly there's a £5 limit but your shorts and tips have helped a lot so thank you so much and keep up the good work
Edit: @Nick DiGiovanni and to everyone else interested, I came first in the finals! Unfortunately it wasn't on any show Or recorded but I'm really pleased (as you'd imagine) Thank you so much for the support, and I'll definitely be doing this competition next year for the final time. Canned, pre-pealed shrimps in that salad seem incredibly low effort. It's cheap, quick to prepare, and it stores well - so I understand it, but not during a fancy, costly meal.
I remeber trying a croissant for the first time and I loved it from there on
I'm excited for this to be followed up with a Paris vlog

Hi nick I just want to say I had a5 wagyu yesterday and it was amazing thank you for the idea.
Oh and your my favorite
4:38 why do those look like- you know what maybe I’m tripping
Wow if I was going to buy a $20,000 first-class ticket, it would probably be on Cathay Pacific, Qatar, Emirates, Ethihad, etc...not Air France. Although this looks unexpectedly good.
Air France has one of the best offers for premium passenger. It's definitely not the same style as in a gulf company flight, but quite an equivalent for sure.
I love how Nick rated the mcchicken the same as the fancy salad

A note about the "Caviar", it is labeled "Paddlefish Roe", which is the real term for it, as actual caviar would be from Sturgeon specificially, it approaches the same technicality that you get with Appelation D'orignees products like Sparkling wine vs champagne, brandy vs Cognac etc, but it is a different fish. It's like, second tier imitation Caviar. Still this stuff is not super cheap, the ounce that was given to you on this plane appears to be the Roe equivalent of a tsar imperial grade (fairly high grade, so yeah about $100 possibly), given its light green color and apparent texture.
I'm sure it was still good as hell, my only point is that if they wanted to TRULY spoil the shit out of you, they would have given you at least imperial grade Petrossian Kaluga or something. After all, this is Air France, why not use a French Product?
Glad you spent the 20k for us to live vicariously through you.
More tea, vicar?
That croissant is flakier than me in high school😂😂
Thanks UA-cam for recommended me, now i know air France rich side is like everytime i passed through it to economy classes with the want to experience it.

Canned, pre-pealed shrimps in that salad seem incredibly low effort. It's cheap, quick to prepare, and it stores well - so I understand it, but not during a fancy, costly meal. It made the salad look like the ones they have in convenience stores and gas stations, where you can pick and mix yourself, for a cheap fee.
What shrimp would you propose? Because those shrimp look quite nice actually
Bro what are u on about 😂
I live on the seaside and the shrimp we have here look a lot nicer, but I’m sure there was no problem with it if nick didn’t say anything about it
How do you know they were canned? They didn't look canned.
@@someguy9778 Because hand peeled shrimps don't look as such?
Those shrimps are 100% machine peeled. Machine peeling typically only occur on the lesser (smaller) sorting of shrimps, because it decreases their taste, damages the shrimps and over all changes their texture. The shrimps are peeled by basically crushing/rubbing them between rollers, while flushing them with water, waiting for the peel to release.
Hand peeled shrimps are typically larger, and they're fare more 'intact' than those are, with the added bonus of not having been crushed and had loads of their taste rinsed off of them. They better maintain their original look, color and taste.
6:53 they cut the blackberry in half 🤦♂️.
