When it comes to food, Japanese carriers and Air France are on another level. Some would argue they are not always the best, but they are always trying something new. Really turning the journey into a culinary experiment/expirience
@@walkrwalkr3622bruh comparing Singapore airlines with Japan airlines and Air France is like comparing a mansion and a bungalow Singapore airlines is in Its own separate tier 🎉
I was just talking to my twin sister about Japan. We were talking about how life changing the country is. It’s such an amazing place. I miss it, and can’t wait to go back in November.
You're one of the reasons I decided to start a channel, Guga. Been following you for a few years now. Love the come up! I hope to figure out a process as good as yours some day.
My Japan trip is one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done and would go back again without question. As I'm sure you will have experienced, knowing Japanese isn't absolutely necessary, but it does help.
@@mackassef473 lol ok whatever you say. your the expert. weeb ass. it's not like rice is the staple of japanese cuisine, the meaning of the word sushi, and served with 94% of japanese meals so that the small amount of real food goes longer in your stomach with the rice. I just made that up. you definitely can't look that up and then find video evidence on youtube with only a couple searches. japanese people consume 8 times the amount of rice as Americans, so yeah you might be right.
@@mackassef473 if you live in a place where it's rude to not have a bowl of rice with your meal, your in the wrong place, and your in japan, the land of decreasing population due to high levels of SOY
Looking forward to this series. I moved to Japan earlier this year but enjoy seeing others first impressions of it, especially from my favorite food UA-camr!
Would encourage you to try Singapore Airlines first class. I was amazed that they actually give you a whole room and a separate bed. Couples can even have a bigger bed to share.
CANNOT WAIT For this content in Japan. You are going to learn so much and it will make you a better chef. Absorb and enjoy all the surroundings. Japan in on my bucket list for sure.
My family flew JAL Business Class to Japan in 2019. I'm 6'2" so having that lay flat seat was amazing. And so much food! Get on the plane, get offered orange juice or champagne. Take off and then the menu comes out for "lunch", same Japanese or Western menu option and I chose the Japanese menu. I got a Japanese whiskey later on, took a nap for a few hours. When I got up I had the JAL curry rice and fell asleep for a couple hours more before landing.
I can't wait! I miss Japan so, so much. I lived there for 2 years. Best experience of my life. I get homesick for it. I hope you love it as much as I did. I never should have left.
Important thing to remember when eating food in an airplane, food often tastes different and food can seem not as juicy as on the ground, because your mouth, nasal passages and sinuses are dryer. This dryness is caused by the climate inside of the airplane, it's important to bear this in mind when eating airline food as it is essentially another handicap that they face when catering for customers. Big fan, I look forward to enjoying watching the rest of the content from this series.
Visiting Japan is also my dream. And I hope I can go first class too to try all that food although I would not expect much from a plane kitchen. Can’t wait to see the rest of the videos. Congrats on the success and I hope one day I can meet you so I can learn a few grilling tricks from you!
I have watched this video 5 times (this being my 5th) because the food and and first class just looks so good. I also have food allergies and couldn't have anything besides probably one dish in this entire video. People that can eat anything, enjoy it, and enjoy life in general, because to me everyone that doesn't have any food allergies is very lucky.
It’s nice to watch a first class plane video where it’s not just a zoomer who hasn’t worked a day in their life flexing on us. Hope you enjoyed your working holiday and ate some good food in Japan.
Your expression tasting the Shitaki for the first time matched mine. I first had them in Melbourne at a fusion restaurant, they were paired with duck and it was a match made in heaven!
My wife and I flew luxury first-class for our honeymoon, same set up with cubicle, bed, and television. This will spoil you - it is simply amazing. Most first-class on domestic flights is really just business-class, with a little more leg room and curtain that divides you from the riff-raff (just kidding - we normally fly coach).
congrats on flying japan airlines. one of the best first class out there in my opinion. im glad you went with the japanese menu. I usually always order that!
Me and my friend are going to Japan in 2 months, making our dreams come true, looking forward to it.. so these videos are gonna be really helpful :) Although we went with economic class :D
Great to see you traveling first class. I'd love to see what GugaTravels has to offer next. Maybe a cruise ship buffet or a Las Vegas buffet of a lifetime. ❤ I enjoy watching you travel and eat good food ❤🎉 .
Happy to see you go to Japan! I spent 3 months there earlier this year and it was not enough so I am going back for another two months in September! It's an amazing country so I am happy you get to live your dream and do all this cool stuff in Japan!
when you said the steak was dry even though the color is "nailed it" they probably batch cook on the ground and reheat on the plane...i have never really thought about it...a pad of butter on top would help
The reason why certain food wasn't seasoned as well as you would expect and why there was no soy sauce was because these menus have been designed to reduce jet lag as much as possible. Dehydration is a big contributor to jet lag, so they try to reduce the amount of sodium as much as possible without ruining the experience - obviously some items like caviar or are unavoidable. I've always wondered why they even bother with steaks on airlines though, they're much better off with slow cooked or braised meat. You would at least expect them to pick a cut that would handle being reheated and still hold up - like a rib eye or bone in sirloin.
Congrats on truly making it Guga. When you start making videos about visiting other countries, but its a cooking channel, you know you made it.
except it's mexico or canada
