My $700 Bronco II gets broke with new brakes and I fix a massive oil leak.

- I recently bought this 1984 Bronco II for $700. This video joins the project just after I finished the carburetor conversion that was started but not finished by the previous owner. I take it on its first drive and then put it on a lift to find and fix a major leak. Last, the Bronco's lacking brakes get replaced with new calipers, lines and pads.

Just picked up an 85 Eddie Bauer Bronco II in great shape. Fresh repaint 4 years ago, 4x4 with a 5 spd manual trans. Love it! Replacing the parking brake cables but other than adjusting the choke and setting the idle, it drives great! It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it and that's all ya can ask of a vehicle!
I pulled the front end of my Bronco 2 out and sent it in to be rebuilt. After that, I did the same with the rear. I was into a complete rebuild when I found out I had Cancer. I paid $400 for my 88. I loved that vehicle. It was silver with red interior. I purchased a black one for the engine. Both were stick shift. They were easy to work on. Biggest issue I had was a bad ground wire. I replaced a leaking valve cover and pulled a corroded ground wire loose, sometimes it wouldn't start. After chasing that gremlin, it turned out to be a great vehicle.
It’s about time Josh. Been watching you on JRs channel for ages.
I always liked those Bronco II's since i was a kid. Interiors were sharp for the times. $700 was a deal. And the gas mileage wasn't awful.
I honestly couldn’t tell that this is your first video if you haven’t told me. You’re a natural, can’t wait to see more!
Dude you got a deal. I got took. I paid 700 for mine and it needed a new transmission, and then had to replace fuel pumps and filter, fuel pressure regulator, battery, positive and negative and solenoid, getting ready to replace gasket seal.
I'm glad that you're doing this! Congratulations!
Man You Got A Really Good Friend
Ford did the horn on the stalk for several years. It never made sense back then either. Great video. You work well with your assistant. He should start his own UA-cam channel.
So great to see another member of the Wichita Car Mafia with his own YT channel. I always looked forward to watching you and John Ross work on ANYTHING. After all this time with JR, you should be a natural. I'm all subbed and ready for content !! 🐔👍
Flashbacks of every trans pan I have ever dropped...I can feel it in my eye.
Just be yourself. I enjoy your video's
Great job on your first video!
I was really looking forward to seeing more of your little B2 when I saw it one John's channel and had to come check it some more.
I grew up with B2s around me and learned to drive in one. They hold a very special place in my heart. Enough that one of my bucket list items for my life is to completely restore an 89 or 90 like my father had.
Hoping to see more of yours!
Those bronco's are awesome.
the problem is you got in love of that thing and now you are doing a full restoration..still good choice since Bronco II are going up on price...
I didn't know you started a channel until I saw it on John Ross's a minute ago. Nice.
Glad you started your channel
Man I'm pumped to have this channel on my Car show menu. Keep the content flowing.
Always liked seeing you on JRs channel. Subscribed. I would like to know your background and what you do in the service. Maybe a tour of the shop and it’s history? Looking forward to it 👊🏻
Was hoping to see more of the Bronco on JR’s channel. Good job, Josh! Subscribed.
That is j r on the crossover
So many flashbacks to my old 92 Ranger 4x4 with a 2.9L
I have a 84 bronco ii as well can’t wait to watch The whole video
"I'll leave a fastener on each side so the pan won't fall" ...*SPLASH* Hilarious! Great video.
Just found you. The Rolls build still my favorite build on UA-cam
Great format and content!!!
Congrats man
You should do a drum to disc conversion on the rear brakes. I had a Bronco II and when I used to beat on it, they would smoke LOL
I am after an explorer 8.8 and springs.
happy you joined, keep it up, looks great
Super stoked for you channel man👍
looking forward to seeing what you do
Nice job Josh. Enjoyed the video.

Just found your channel Josh! Can't wait to see all the content so far, and follow the new stuff! Nice!
Great to see you starting your own channel ! Always enjoyed your work with JR :-)
I think you got a great deal at $700. Stinks the seller sort of drug you along on the price. Looking forward to seeing more on it.
Great Job! A back up Camera and back up batteries are a must. Subbed!
Good first video young man! 👍🏽
Great video Josh! You did well. It certainly was a turn-around from what I am used to, your were the main man with JR off to the side lol. Keep the videos coming :)
Enjoyed the video. Always nice to another Ford guy keeping them going. Those Bronco 2s have finally come into their own, I also have always like the 1st Gen 2 door Explorers as well.
Had a 89 with the V6....leaked like a sieve. Great in the snow though.
Congrats on the channel. Just heard about it when watching Watch JR Go video tonight. I subscribed and looking forward to future videos 😀
Great job on your first video. Subscribed!
I like the Bronco. I've watched your videos of it on WatchJRGo. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
Did I’m stoked your starting a channel I look forward to the content
Cool intro man!
Subscribed and notified. Enjoy your content and participation videos. Looking forward to watching your B2 become whole again.
Great job! Glad you finally have a channel! Need to see some foxbody content!
I saw your 1/4 mile time , that was hilarious. I beat that in a ‘63 vw van 45 years ago.
It's running quite A bit better now. I bet it'll crack off a solid 17. Haha
Great first video, looking forward to more. LS swap the Bronco!
You didnt over pay for the bronco ...you did well man...don't be so hard on yourself......
keep it up jia you
nice video repair car
Bought a 5 speed, 4x4, for 600 just recently
Score!
Shoot a video of you building some mining rigs with those Dell power supplies.
I bet some Ford guy can decode the VIN and tell you how many Broncos were built like that.
May be worth restoring.
Such a great video! Excellent work. What do you like to listen to when you do have a working radio?
Yippy Josh, Welcome to UA-cam. You've got friends?
The steering column, the seat and the seat belts are going to kill you, please do something about it. A bushing kit installation. So we can have more of your great videos.
Those breaks, nasty.
Can you elaborate on these issues?
Glad to see you started your own channel. I liked seeing you on JR's. I'm partial to those old Fords. I was wondering what ever happened with the Austin Healy. It looks like you're still in the process of finishing it. Anyways, I look forward to seeing more videos on your channel.
It's next in the line up.
Did you retire from the military? I recently retired from the army and I could’ve sworn you were military too. Either way glad you have a UA-cam up now. Subscribed today.
Hey Josh. Just heard about your channel on a WatchJRGo video. Count me in as a subscriber. Cheers from Brazil.
Love your videos, thanks for making them! Love your whip! Question, just got a 1989 bronco ii (it is beautiful) replaced shocks, now my brake pedal is soft, especially in reverse, do you know why this would be?
Great video, subbed you... Now show us more of the BroncoII😁😁👍🏼
I have an '88 that's in good condition and looking for tips and tricks to make it look/perform better
Thanks
I have a 1990 Bronco ii. Subscribed.
Definitely change out the wheel bearings on these Bronco 2's.. especially the 84.. they dont give any warning when they are shot..ask me how I know...
Just found out u had a channel from john ross
Nice….. keep it going. Now you just need to find a Ford EXP so the channel can blow up. Please don’t buy a boat or a helicopter and thank goodness you already built your shop…. Now we just get to some wrenching.
The horn on the stalk was supposed to be a crash safety feature, to allow the center of the steering wheel to be fully deformable without having to house the button mechanism inside it, not sure how effective that really was. Nobody else did it, so it clearly wasn't necessary to pass the crash tests of the time.
I know this is an old video but do you know what CFM the old carb was. I have a B2 myself and want to convert it over.
Looking at your front tires your shocks are horribly worn. On the Ford twin I beam and ifs diff system they cup the inside of tires when shocks are bad.
Is this bronco for sale
Where was the major oil leak finally?
Hate when sellers play that game.
Dude you are as bad as me, I have a Austin and 2 bronco 2s an 84 and 87, also 72 chev 4x4, 3 DATSUN 280Zs. Working on my 84,b2 now. It's been in the family for 20 years.
Get some extra batteries for the gopro 😆😆
I'm up to 3 and combined they are still only good for 1hr of 4k.
@@TheFracturedRooster Dang those things eat batteries!
Josh: Enjoying this series. You might be interested in his MotorWeek classic review of he Bronco II. One of few things they criticized was the braking system:

You didn’t get taken advantage of on that price. The two side glasses are worth $1,000-$1,500.00 each because no one makes them anymore. Or at least I have not found anyone yet
Also you could find a buyer who would buy it for at least $2,000
What happened to that toyota prius ?
It's still my daily driver. I hate that I love it so much. It feels like a spaceship after driving the old Fords.
Maybe a haircut. ;)
if you dont like the video youre a hater
I gotta leave the north east all the 80s Fords up here are rusted out and over priced.
