I love how ellies make a rumbling purr. 💕🐘💕 The ellie kept putting Lek underneath her. That's what they do to their babies to protect them. The ellie loves Lek so much, she wanted to protect her from the storm, which the ellie perceived as dangerous, a threat. That's real love!💕🐘🤗💕

Yeah they are like mother and daughter. It's just a bit difficult to say which of them is the mom now. Maybe Lek still is, but Fah Mai likes to keep the little mom safe and close.
Lek has been during that since Faa Mai was a baby hand feeding her and singing lullaby's to her the other elephant Faa mai dropped food for is her daughter Thong Ae. who is always by her side Faa Mai doesn't let no other elephant touch Lek except Thong Ae..

Oh Fah Mai was probably happy w/the rain bc it made her stay close to her beloved human mom, Lek, who couldn’t stay longer bc she went to rescue another elephant. No weather stops a rescue!! 💖🐘💖

Why do some people believe that animals can't love? Everyone agrees that animals get angry, it they can get angry then they must also feel other emotions like love&fear...
They love the rain but they know thunderstorms with lightning are deadly and love the shelters Faa Mai the matriarch was the last one in and all family members accounted for they calmed quickly and started to eat,they been thru these storms many times and know their safe and the mahout's are bringing food as fast as they can everything went pretty good for a quick pop up storm, just minutes from the first lightning to all safe inside and eating that's why E N P sanctuary is the best the staff and elephant's both know what to do.
In this video, many times, Lek inadvertantly says "Wan Mai" when talking about Faa Mai. Lek must have had Wan Mai "on the brain" that day. Even heroes are human, it's most understandable.

I get confused a bit with who is who with the bigger ellies. The title says Fah Mai , but Lek sometimes says Wan Mai. Wan mai is the oldest of the three babies, even in 2022 when I write this, Wan Mai is still small. I wonder if this just a slip of the tongue for Lek as she deals with the organised chaos of the herd running from the storm and overwhelming love of the elephant that wants to protect her. I have only been following for a year or so. I can tell the 3 babies Wan Mai, Pyi Mai and Chaba, but not the bigger or adults.
Check out on utube ,( who belongs to Faa mai ) you will see Faa Mai doesn't allow any other elephant near Lek and has learned how to hug. and Lek has slept with Faa Mai after singing her to sleep at night Faa Mai is about 13 now and always knows where Lek is under her by Lek hugging her leg or brushing her with her scarf.
