We were expecting ours to arrive at the end of September. Surprise! It just got installed today (end of June)!

Getting the Lopi Evergreen woodstove soon and I'm pretty excited about it. The insert seems to be very similar...

@@kingjames9564 Thanks I did actually find a store 15 miles from here that sells these inserts and will be checking them out soon. I am replacing an old wood stove that was placed in my full size fireplace over 25 years ago. I heated my house 20 of those years with it but it's just getting to old. So did you buy the Lopi stove.

I just spent $6670 putting this exact insert in my full size fireplace and I sure hope it's worth it. I purchased the 135 CFI fan with mine plus I had to get a complete new chimney liner and top unit plus the custom cut Faceplate was part of this total as well.. I had a 30 year old insert before this and heated my house for over 25 years with it but it did have a damper issue and we had to work around a smoke issue on reloading. I am about to light it for the first time as it's Nov 1 22 here in northern Michigan.

HI, how is it??? I'm going through the same thing with my old house. Are you happy with it and is it good to heat as well as they say?

@@dr.carrielynncimpermanl.ac1473 I would love to tell you yes but I haven't put a fire in it yet as I'm waiting for the first week in December to fire it up. The reason is simple in that my Mother in Law is here till then and she is terrified of a wood fire because she was caught in one years ago so until she leaves it's just the furnace but if I remember I will let you know. For the money I spent it better work perfect.

@@kagnewmp12 I HOPE so!! They are expensive. I was just quoted $7,000 for it (installation included in price) They look like they will work amazing!

@@dr.carrielynncimpermanl.ac1473 That is so close to my price and it's less then $300 I don't feel so bad and they make and sell much more expensive units then ours.

UPDATE: We spoke to our dealer/installer and we found that this insert likes to have a larger fire (more wood at start up) rather trying to maintain a small hot fire with more frequent reloads that we were use to having in our old Kent Log Fire. With the larger load of wood the air control can be turned down after getting hot - say 350F to 400F as measured on the upper side of the frame - to manage the overall burn rate. We've found that we are able to get the expected heat out and total burn time IS better than our old wood stove. It is easy to get 4 to 6 hours between reloads (air control at half) and overnight 9 or 10 hours works well too when the air control is fully damped. We are happy with the Lopi Evergreen insert.

Question…we just had our evergreen insert installed….when we run dryer or air conditioner stove fan….we are pulling in smoky smelly air from where burn rate knob is…how do we not fill our house with Carbon monoxide every time we do laundry or use any of these items….?

Sounds like a tight house that needs an outside air kit.
