Hello, I bought a lopi patriot for 1100 dollars in 2008 and I can honestly say it's probably the best money I've ever spent. Countless hours of satisfying heat and firelight....mine is finally due for some new parts ,these videos have helped me understand the design and build quality of my stove ,which I somewhat took for granted

We love this stove! Being seniors we knew it wouldn't be possible to keep our fires going for much longer with our old wood stove-Lopi Evergreen has enabled us to enjoy our winter woodstove fire again.
Pros: WAY less wood for a lot more heat, the stand puts the stove up higher, I don;t have to try to sit down to clean, put wood in. Ash pan underneath needs emptied once a week or so, stove radiates heat-we put wood in before bed, adjust the damper and house temp is 74 or so the next morning and during the day less getting up and down to put in more wood. That means less cords of wood to buy (even with good neighbors we can no longer harvest our own), stack etc. Air tight construction allows us to adjust damper for more or less heat. It has large viewing window and is attractive, solid and seems well made. Gives a cleaner burn so less pollution and we got the fan (get the fan!!) it is great for putting heat throughout the house quicker.
Cons: Fire box isn't as big as old stove, lip on fire box not that deep-if wood shifts ashes and coals sometimes fall out, air wash window doesn't work well if damper is on low for over night burn, the top will keep your coffee hot but isn't hot enough to cook on like old stove.
After using the Evergreen for several months now the pros far outweigh the cons. Would have gotten one sooner had we known how much better the Evergreen would be over our old stove.

Forgot to add-the cabinet where the ash pan is makes a wonderful raising oven for our bread dough when the ash pan is taken out and the fire is going. ;>)

We bought a nexgen Fyre Answer insert a few months back. Overall, we are glad we got it. It's one of only two inserts made by reputable companies that would have fit our firebox dimensions. It burns well, looks smart, throws off a good amount of heat, especially with the blower, and the glass rarely gets more than smudged by soot and is easily cleaned with a wet paper towel once the stove cools down. A few observations and a question for Lopi. The blower is a must for an insert (don't think a stove-top fan will do much, they don't). However, using the fan does appear to cool the operating temp of the stove and over time does seem to affect the room temperature as well. In other words, pushing 300 degree air over a 600 degree stove may cause it to cool. Overnight burns are a reality. We've gotten 8 hours+ with a decent bed of coals the next morning that light back up with paper or kindling. The one question/s we have: Why do the firebricks not go up to the entire height of the side and back walls? Above the metal bracket they slide into is an open cavity of a couple of inches all the way around the inside of the stove - which is wedge shaped and slopes up away from the door. We can't figure out why the cavity exists and is not evenly spaced. Thx

The bypass damper opening is not big enough. I have problems with smoke spillage even when the bypass is fully open.

Hi, my quarter inch baffle plane keeps warping so i bent it flat again. Is it safe to weld another quarter inch steel plate on top or bottom to reinforce it? and should it be on top or bottom? thanks

We *do not* recommend modifying the unit in any way. Please reach out to your local dealer for assistance with this.
