55 inch Samsung curved TV, dark screen on 1 side. Samsung UN55NU7300FXZA television repair.

- This is a Samsung model un55nu7300fxza LED TV that has a dark or black picture on one half of the screen. This television uses just 2 Edge-lit backlight strips and one of them is obviously not lighting up. We are going to disassemble the television and replace the backlight strip which is not lighting up because of the burnt and shorted led's that are on the strip.

Great job! I was going to try a repair but you have inspired me to get a new one. Thank you
Thank you SOOOO much for making this video!! I need to replace the exact same back light panel in my 65" 7300FXZA that burned out back in March. We are very eager to get it back up and running in the living room and because of you we can!
Thank you SO much for showcasing this process. I appreciate your insight and knowledge to no end. None.
People like you make the world a better place.
‘Preciate cha brother!!! 🙏🏽
Thank you VERY much for this repair video! I was able to repair my 55" Samsung without a problem. Well done!
I love to watch professionals doing incredible work like Bigdog. Thank you for showing me how to fix my 65 Samsung Curved
Thanku bro, u gave me confidence to open up my £500 tv and fix it, it died after the warranty ran out (1yr) .
Thankyou . May God bless you .
Thanks mate, just repaired my TV. The back light failed on one side now working a treat with the new ones installed 👍 so much for Samsung telling me I need to buy a whole new TV… cost me £15.
Great job brother. You're very thorough and obviously no novice but your step by step procedure makes it simple. Thank you very much.
This repair is fairly involved, you would want to be a seasoned electronics technician, engineer, etc to succeed at this repair without damaging your TV in a bad way. He is handling it with extra care, notice the dedicated table with looks to be a packing quilt on the surface. He leaves the front pane on the screen when replacing the strip and he previously tested everything to printed board voltages. Then a specialty tool to test the backlight strips. Pro job. Two thumbs up for care and skill.
Thank you for this video. Our insurance is paying to replace ours. We're not supposed to send it to them but I didn't want to throw it away. After watching this I'm going to try and repair it.
I agree incredible...the way you broke it down for us to understand...thank you
Can I turn the screen that was burnt by the LEDs around?
Big Dog, please disregard my last note. I don't think it's the TV. I think it's my router!! Will follow up. I've read about this issue on line with other routers/ modems. I am playing your video through my laptop right now and no issues with the TV cycling on and off....so that's great news! Thank you again for your excellent guidance.
Thanks, just replaced the leds and the diode and works like new!
Thanks man very informative video this will help me a lot 👍
I have a samsung ue49ku647ou with the same problem it looks pretty much the same just without the curve.
Thank you! I just followed these steps and fixed my UN55NU6900BXZA, which is pretty much this exact model, but not curved. Inside it looked virtually identical. 26 bucks on eBay for the parts. You truly are the biggest of dogs, sir.
Thanks for watching. You can leave me a good review at g.page/marc-anthony-tv-repair/review?rc. That would help me out a whole lot. Thanks again!
@@bigdog8882 Done!
I have the same model and the left-hand 1/4 of the tv went dark, but you could still make out the picture. I assume this is what happened to yours?
Thank you for this video it saved me a couple of hundred dollars.
I did mine thanks to your video. Thank you so much.
excelent vidio! i have the exact same tv only flat not curved. i disasembeled it and the internals are identical. and i know for sure both my stips are bad. but i need a part number to purchase new strips. i started to read the comments but there are to many and im impatient lol. thanks in advance.
This definitely deserves a follow! This helped me a lot after searching videos for awhile. Exactly what i was looking for! Really appreciate you showing from start to finish. Keep up the great work! 👏🏼

Outstanding job, anyway you look at at.
Very good technic .
Thanks Master Tv Big Dog
Really great video. Thank you so much for sharing this. This same issue just happened to my 55” curved Samsung TV. I was mentally preparing to take it apart, and was comfortable with the steps until you pulled out the suction cups and removed the screen. Since I don’t have suction cups, is there another way to remove it? If I had another person help me?
Yeah, I followed that process a couple of months ago and it works fine now.
Absolutely great. Repaired my Samsung tv using this video step by step.
If you have a paypal or some other form of digital pmt let me know.

You're one of the best!
Great Video very educational
Good video you saved me lots a money. thanks!!
I have a UE49NU7100K pretty much same build. Thanks for your video really needed a good full teardown as I was stuck today. Same thing on mine the left backlight strip popped so I ordered 2 preowned tested ones as they only came as a set only ones I could get asap too. Do you suggest I change both to the ones im getting and keep the working one I have now or only replace the faulty one.
Btw what was still the problem with yours at the end. Was that something to do with the diffuser being cracked or burnt? Mines also cracked but much more than yours
Great video! Very thorough. I don't have the problem of picture fading with black, but half white and half black. I checked the ribbon connections and now it's just ALL WHITE screen. What do you think the problem would be??? Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks!
awesome .learned a lot
Good work!!!
Thanks for video. Can advise if syptoms looks like faulty chip on T-com board, but as you mentioned here is no T-con board. Is it integrated in to main board? If so i did not find any simolar chip, that going usually on T-con board.
Another impressive video. Your patience is amazing. Thanks for posting.
GREAT EDUCATIONAL VIDEO!
BTW, YOUR MUSIC SELECTION IS RIGHT ON!
IS THIS ANOTHER SMOOTH TRACK FROM "PURPLE PLANET"?
I'D LOVE TO KNOW THE TITLE?
KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK!
@bigdog8882 great video! I have this same issue with a UN65RU7300. Looks like I'll be tearing it apart.
I also have another issue with it. In the lower corner, it looks like maybe the lcd layers separated or something. Is there anyway I can send you a picture of it and you can try to tell me what is going on?
Thanks for sharing. I have same issue with UA55NU7300 (a vertical dark bond in the middle about 30 cm width) . Same strip with yours? How can i find part number?
Excellent!
Great video. Question - did you use the same acrylic even if its burned and cracked?
Where can you get information on the part numbers and/or which ones are various brand interchangeable for LED strips so they can be purchased wholesale from China? I used to do that with LCD backlight invertors and saved a fortune.
Hello I really like the video,
I also have a 43 "tv in which ue have a bug.
My TV burned out both backlights
The supply voltage is written 195V out. I measured a bad 300V when the LED was bad
Should the supply voltage be empty (unloaded) 300V output voltage, or is the supply faulty?
Have you ever worked on a Sony bravia xbr-65x900c? I have 1 that seems to be bricked, the main board gets power at the connector but i get nothing on the TV, no power, no led, nothing on screen. From what im told it was plugged into a surge protector that got switched off during an update and never turned back on.
Nice work
EXCELLENT VIDEO
So I took my Samsung 60 JS 7000 apart. It has ten rows but only bottom 6 work and the top 4 rows don’t. I switched out a working one and placed on top and the bad one at bottom. All rows lit up like a Christmas tree. I was happy only to find out that when I picked my tv to check the back the TVs top4 rows turned off again. I kinda wiggled it and they turned on again. The strips all work fine. Do you know what could be causing top 4 rows from turning off? I have no issue with the bottom 6 rows. If you can help or anyone that might has some knowledge of tv electronics it would be greatly appreciated. When this first started I would just give it a nice bang and tv would work fine until it didn’t. Eventually not even a bang to the tv would work. So my thinking is there is a loose wire or something is triggering or not triggering the lights to turn and not turn on. All strips lights turned so it has to be something else. Again any help would be great.
I have had mine for 1.5 years as well and the bottom left corner has a black line about 8” long, along the bottom. It also has a dark shadow from top to bottom almost midway. Screen where the dark line is hot to touch.
You have a great voice. Wow. I could listen to you all day.
Thanks for listening
Very nice work
You did wonderful job I have same smart Tv a vertical 9 Centimeter line in green and purple color appeared and not going what can be problem please tell me.
Thanks!
Hey cat so I did everything you said. And it sure was both I'm led strips had led lights out. But as I was putting on the last screen it cracked. Smh. Wurr can I find order the.leds and the screen.?
Helped me to diagnose my un55ks8000 problem, which is the power board, thanks. Cool softporn music btw.
Can you tell me the symptoms of your tv please. Mine got no pictures , not even with a torchlight and the backlight keep flickering … well only on right side and a strip on the left. Remaining of the tv shows nothing
@@GauravVermaGoogle Mine all of a sudden turned off, no standby lights, nothing. So it was either the main board or the power board, to be sure I had to disconnect the cable of the main board, if the tv "powers on" then it's the main board the culprit. But your case seems to be different.
Thank you
Question, do you think thats what i need there’s a line down the center thats black and ranbow colors???

Nice video, informative and hands on, Kudo to you! Dear friend, i have a Samsung 55in model 55lm8600. When turn on the LED TV, the center of TV has a big reddish patch on it. Do you think is the back light problem?
Thank you VERY much for this repair video! I did the repair, replaced the 2 LED strips of my Samsung TV 50, however, it burned again, the same right side, do you know what it could be, what is causing it? which component should i test please😥
Hello, i have a question. I want to replace my brushed aluminium front frame from my samsung js9500 tv. Do i need to remove the speakers and the metal parts and disconnect anything? Or can i just remove the big plastic back cover and immediatly remove the front frame after? Or do i need to do any other steps? Thanks

@@bigdog8882 Iv been watching this for hours I got to the last step but I don’t understand why the lights aren’t lighting up now, can you pleasssse help me, before I have to get some help
@@nicholasmarkowicz9168 Did you have only one half of the screen lit up b4 U started? If so check the connectors going to the strips and going to the PS board. Make sure that the PS board is and secure in all the clips if u removed it too.
@@bigdog8882 I never removed the green board, just the other one like u did, I slid the beige one back in the spot hooked everything up but when I plug it in neither of the LED strips are turning on now
@@nicholasmarkowicz9168 Only thing I can tell U is check the strips with an LED tester. & make sure the actual Leds are not touching any metal. If lights test ok, then you have something unplugged. Otherwise if they dont light up then U got some Bad strips.
thank you for the tear down and repair, any chance you could provide the part number for the back light led strips?, more power and God bless you.
I’d love a reference to the led number too, if possible. Obviously, I can obtain it but would rather not start a year down until the parts are handy.
Tear down, not year...🤦🏻♂️
Masterful job 👑. How long did this repair actually take? 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
Jez you make me so anxiety when you start fixin that board's with COF with tape on the screen, and next one when you lift the screen UP OGGGGGHHH Fragile stuf :)
So the screen matrix is not even curved, good to know. Thank you for sharing.
Designed to last 2 years, mine was 2 years old then had this problem I have a old CRT that’s decades old that still works.
If you try to make an 55" CRT TV today would cost over $10.000 or more.
This video was sick a big help thank you so much! I have the same exact curve tv model and size. With the same exact issue. Can you by chance send me the part number?
Its in the Video Description.
can you share the link to where i can order the LED strips. i have a samsung 55 inch curved model but different type with s/n UA55H6800. thanks
Man, that was a pain!
hey man i was curious how much would it cost to repair a small dent on the my samsung curvrd tv glass and would it gradually damage the screen around it?
Outstanding instruction!
Now I know what needs to be done…
Hey Bigdog, my latest attempted repair resulted in cracking the lcd taking off the bezel. So far I've attempted 6 repairs: cracked 2 lcds and was unable to fix 1 other tcon board problem... so 50% seccess not good. Question 1: what do i tell my customer? Sorry i fckd up your tv? Or i was unable to repair it technical difficulties not resulting from anything i did (lie)? And 2: Do you have any advice for how to not crack the lcds? And 3: i used a dual suction cup bathroom accessability handle on a screen once and it looked like i damaged the lcd with the suction cups for like 2 days but eventually went away. Have you ever seen that? This was an awesome video bud. Ive watched a bunch of your videos so I feel like I know you a little so sorry if I come off a little informal. You dont know me or anything. Keep up the awesome videos please.
Thank you so much 👏👍! I have same problem on my 49" tv where did I get the LED light .pls can you send me a link
Model UA49NU7300KXZN
This panel is toast . The dark line in the middle that you’re seeing is lcd panel delimitation . It’s weary known issue with Samsung curved TVs . Otherwise great work on those LED’s .
Hey, one day I got a dark line in the middle (as at the end of the video) and the next day my LED's went off (like in the beginning of the video half screen dark) I have UE55NU7100 Samsung (not curved). Is it possible that changing LED strip will sort things out? and it was just LED going off.. Or my panel got damaged and the spot will remain after replacing LED strip? Many thanks, Ed
I have a SAMSUNG TV PM43H that has the problem of a burnt light diffuser screen with cracks. No idea if they sell parts of those. im trying to see if i can flip it to patch the problem.
is this compatible to ua55m6300 ag? 40 led lamps per strips?
I have a 65" Samsung manufactured in 2020. The right half of the screen is faded considerably but I can still see the picture slightly. I'm wondering if it may be a different issue other than the back light strip as it's not totally black?
I need help.... I got a Philips tv and you can see a faint picture in a pitch dark room. It boots up (and the little light on the tv keeps blinking red) but after the android text comes up it turns itself off. I see no backlight coming from the back.
And since it turns itself off I can not check if it has any audio.
How do we call the plastic that was burned by the leds? Mine is in terrible shape and there is no reason to change the ledstrips since the backlight will be very uneven unless i replace that too
hello... can i replace main board of this panel with a eu55ru6100 a series 6 main board?
Thanks for the info, but one thing I have to add is that the tv design causes this problem since it doesn't allow heat generated by the led to disipitat properly. This has happened as tv getting thinner.
The issue will occur again.
The tv companies care only that it happens after 1 year warranty.
I have this same Tv, mine had a half blacked out picture one day then the next day the TV was flashing with a “strobe light” effect... the left 1/3 of the tv would flash white and the rest was all blacked out, the second I plug the TV in it starts doing that, I don’t even need to power it on. Any thoughts on what could be wrong?
@bigdog8882 Thank you for answering. My T.V. went out yesterday, but I'm gonna make it a project for me and my grandson to try and fix it at least the LED, I'm pretty sure that's what the problem is because the power light is still working but like your videos and a few I have been watching there is no picture, but I can still hear a high pitch ringing sound, almost like a dog whistle. Nevertheless I'm gonna try, because they don't teach repair tech in schools for our young ones like the did when I was in elementary school. What a disadvantage, But thanks to the invention of computers and you tube we have teachers like you. Thank you again for responding.
If You hear a high pitch ringing sound coming from inside the tv, You have a short on either the Power supply board or Mainboard. Its probably NOT the Led lights. What type of TV is it. (Brand and Model#)?

I’m no electrician but I would at least try after watching! One year and one month of use before this happened to mine. Where can I get the strips?
Thank you so much!!!
Be careful damaging the cof its fragile
If i can find the hole 🥁 😆
that earned a 👍
Find which hole? don't understand.
I watch you a lot as well. You guys are my favorites? Thanks
It looks like there was still a dark part in the middle of the screen. Was it caused by the burnt part of the diffuser. My question is, could you have turn the diffuser upside down to avoid the burnt parts from obstructing the leds. Or maybe scraped part of the burnt parts off of the diffuser. Great Videos.
Don’t work you have to replace which another one
I'm just guessing but I would bet that the bright lighting used for making the video is interfering with the picture quality in the set. This guy is detail oriented, he wouldn't miss a picture quality issue.
@bigdog8882 are you inferring most television's stop working because of LED blowouts ? most of your repairs are due to the LED's being damaged and once you add new LEDs the t.v. start working again. What if it's not a LED problem, then how would you repair?
You gotta troubleshoot my sista!
Nice m8! What's the name of the last paper? The white one, is called reflective sheet?
Great vid! Would you mind telling us where you bought the new led strips from? I've looked and cannot find. Thanks in advance!

I have a Samsung UE65RU7305K and the screen is broken with vertically and horisontell lines. Is this the same procedure for changing the panel?
Greetings Chicago finest, another excellent step by step video, I received the same Samsung (2018) from a customer, version#(FBO3) I replaced the leds on the left side, however the same problem was there after replacing the led strip, so I checked the power supply and got the same result (left side still not working ?)
& Tried 2 different pwr supplies all voltages were correct, so my conclusion is the white wiring distribution connector behind the power supply that distributes +185 DC volts into to the left +side of the led strip was dead, and the return side voltage was a correct (67 Volts Dc) it’s only half of the leds on the strip that is not lighting up
Have you ever experienced this ? And do you have any suggestions on how to supply +185 DC voltage to that dead line ?
Thanks in advance !
Its been a long time since you replyed with your issue. If you still have the tv, the problem is in the mounted plug that the power board slides into.
A repair like wold cost around how much so ? ball park figure.
Is there anyway to modify the back end to mount some PC cooling fans? I don't know what kind of area there is around the LEDs. Is there enough for cooling fan air to exchange in there?
Probably adding a removable HEPA filter is probably a good idea. Let the PC fans put a positive dust free pressure on the chassis so no dust gets in.
Big dog thanks, I just did this to a un55nu6950, fixed the backlight problem, but when I replaced the screen, it has all these blobs (look like pressure points or spots) as if the screen was cracked. I set the screen down on a towel on a baby mattress. The only difference I can tell is that I left the screen on the mattress for a few days while I was waiting on the led strips to come. Do u think I have to replace the screen now?? I was soo disappointed. Thanks for any help!
If the screen is damaged, there's nothing you can do. Just dispose of the TV.
Great video the only thing wrong is the background music. Why does everyone think we need music competing with the talking.
Wondering if you might be able to help me I have a 75 in LG LCD TV my son tapped on the black part of the screen I'm having trouble finding that part
1. T heres a tool for the removal of the cover.
2. Use electrical tape not masking tape...no residue or pulling on polarisation film
2. The thin line in the middle is the burn spectral diffuser unable to pass light. Flip the diffuser
All good....
Where can I buy the strips? what do they cost?
A newfangled black & white tv?
Thanks for a great video... Really helped... You have a nice setup in your work room, are you an engineer? (curious) I think I saw an oscilloscope, right?
