    I have been telling my wife for years that I thought Pete was way insecure about bits about him, done on SNL. I’m glad Pete finally said it. Imagine going to work, everyone likes you, and you like them . And you find out they are talking shit behind your back. We love Pete.

    From my experience, being depressed and sad for so long and then trying to transition out of that into happiness can honestly be like detoxing. No one talks about it or allows for it like it needs.
    Strange hearing someone else describe it so clearly

    Loved this interview. I love hearing Pete talk about BPD - I got diagnosed in my 40s and it was a lifetime of looking back connecting dots. All of his points here are so dead-on, including DBT being massively helpful, that there is hope, we can improve and do better and learn how to reign in everything BPD throws at you. It’s incredibly tough, but worth it to put in the work and have a somewhat normal life. Thank you for having him in for this interview, this was so great to watch.

      Hope you’re doing well! 😊 I was diagnosed with BPD 10 years ago (I’ll be 40 in October) and you wrote something that really resonated with me…”It was a lifetime of looking back connecting the dots”…I’m in the throes of that right now and couldn’t articulate it until reading your comment! So really, I guess I’m trying to say thank you! 💖🙏😊 And so right about DBT; it was so helpful with my therapy that I got certified to teach it. I’m so glad it helped you as well!
      Sending lots of love and gratitude. May you be well. 😊💖🌞

    It’s awesome that he opened up about bpd & self harm. It’s so hard to be in your mid-late 20s still dealing with that mindset. He’s right-It’s definitely a surge of emotions that you have to overcome and dbt and cbt has helped me get through that too.

  • @MissLisaBowes
    @MissLisaBowes 4 місяці тому +2

    I can relate to him very much. Same way. Anxiety is awful. I’ve been using that tactic a long long time. As a teen it’s like I instinctually knew I needed to do that and I always kept journals and wrote poetry and jokes even. Getting shit out of your head is important and humor is a huge component to being able to do that too. The highest compliment I ever got from my 13 year old son is that “I was the funniest mother fucker he knows”, and I pretty much still am, and he is 26 now. Humor helps BPD so much. It can ground you from being bitter and resentful about things. I have always felt blessed that I can be this way. Most people dealing with this are survivors of something and just work very hard to keep it together. And it’s not to be confused with bipolar. Great interview!! Great show!!!

    Pete, dude I am a fan of you as a person. You are inspiring. Not because of the fame and fortune and all the tabloid fotter, but my dad died when I was 2, and I relate to your story. Im a normal girl trying to turn what I love into a career. You are the proof that dreams come true through perserverence and hard work. You never quit, no matter how much your struggling you always come out on the other side, you admit you have faults and issues because EVERYONE has faults and your real enough to address and correct them and find strength in the pain and you dont hide anything. Your courage and lack of concern for the bs is commendable. So yes, your hilarious and yes you have wit and an innate ability to write and create epic works, but you as a person, as a human, and what you stand for and what you stand against is why I am a fan of you as a person. I would love to just smoke and chill with you one day. no questions, no autographs, no cameras, just 2 average people being average people. Your a good real person and being on " Real Ones" is too perfect!! You and John are for sure legitimate Real Ones!!! John, Im happy your son is doing well and wish you both the best in life!!! Thank you for the honest vulnerability you both openly share . Thank you both so much!!

    i don’t know if this is a commonly known thing among pete’s fans but this is the first time ive ever heard about him having bpd and it immediately brought me to tears, like full on snot-nosed sobbing. hearing him talk about his experience with it and not having to put myself in his shoes because i’m wearing them right now and have been for years, of course i don’t wish this on anyone because bpd is brutal but knowing that even someone like him goes through the same struggles as someone like me, i don’t even have the words to express how overwhelmingly cathartic it is. it’s amazing how you can see someone a certain way for so long but adjusting the lighting in which you see them just a little can bring upon this whole world of newfound appreciation and love for them. i think the things people do certainly go a long way and i have the utmost respect for him after listening to this interview.

    Jon is obviously the shit and the best conversationalist (never feels like an interview with any of these). I’ve watched Pete since his early roasting days and watched him evolve and grow. I relate to Pete a lot and the stuff he struggles with and has gone through even though that is probably cringe but it’s true. Pete is hyper aware of himself and his issues which is his most admirable trait and makes him an amazing comedian and human. Love you Pete, don’t change for anyone but yourself man. You’re the shit 🖤

    I'm so grateful for, and to, Pete Davidson. He's so* funny, about how We (almost) All feel awkward and getting diagnosed-> being diagnosed so he can do what he needs to do to for himself and being so vulnerable and open to talk about mental Health*, and his own personal journey, knowing that he is helping others... and for all of the lols since We got to see You, the first time... about 12 years ago? Thank You ❤
