- Today I'm going to show you how to replace your Chevy Equinox ABS control pump module! This ABS control pump module replacement is pretty simple and straightforward. Start by removing your battery, Then we're going to remove the fuse box. Do be careful when doing the fuse box installation. Don't overtighten the screws or you'll risk damaging it. Now we can start our abs pump control removal. We've got to remove the cam lock and electrical connector and take out a few screws. Don't worry if you've got rusty screws. Ol Clay boy has tricks for everything. I should mention that if you're going to replace the entire abs pump then you'll need to remove the brake lines. Now with all of your screws and nuts off of your ABS pump control module, you can take a screwdriver and pry where I show you in the video. to install your abs control module you'll do all of that in reverse! It was easy wasn't it?

Hey man thanks so much. I changed the part on my 2011 chevy equinox 2.4 you showed in the video and it worked perfectly . No need to program or nothing. Great video, there is one car company that does go to the extreme lengths of suiting harnesses to a particular model they are Toyota.
You're right they are an exception, they are exact and precise, run just in time and all that good stuff.
Most companies simply can't cut it so fine... remember they're executives spend six weeks on the assembly line, who else does that!

Cruise control works, brakes work perfect... so why would, the abs light be on, the traction l8ght, the brake light, and stabilink?
I’m working on a 2018 equinox and did brakes and rotors on it, and it says brake assists and only a warning light is and it says replace tire monitor sensor but the car also locks wheels and pedal is stiff as can be hoping You could help
So after fixing the wheel sensor, the abs light went away? Without needing to program the module? I am dealing with abs issue currently and trying to gameplan if the module needs to be replaced. I would like to do the work myself, without having to take it to the dealer just to get the module programmed.
I have a 2008 chevy equinox and just got the humming noise, brakes work fine, just the humming noise, even when the vehicle is off, is it safe to drive it to the auto parts store to get the part?

In a few days I will replace the abs module. When I get it in the mail I will analyse if I have enought space to replace only the electronic side of the abs, if I dont ill have to replace the whole thing.

I think you will find it simple enough to be able to unscrew it and do what I did in the video
Wanna open a can of worms? Do a Toyota factory service TechStreaml brake bleed procedure with a 8 year old Prius. 2004-2009 Prius were infamous for abs failures post the procedure. It got so bad that some dealers refuse to do brake bleeds on >7 year old Prius.
Just use a turkey baster & service the master cylinder with new brake fluid every two years.
My chevy equinox lt awd 2005 the brakes make a noise when the speed drops to 5 mph but no abs lights turn on I don't know what it is can you help?

I have a 08 equinox and the abs lights on and hums while not running and running. It's a 08 only swap. Is it just the pump or module as well?

@VictorGonzalez-cf2mm used and yes, it did fix my problem, but you can unplug the fuse and that will stop it from doing that. Also, if you pay attention to the video, I talk about just replacing the controller unit so you don’t have to bleed none of the lines, but that’s up to you.
