I speak pretty decent German, but I've lived in the US my entire life. If I ever encounter a Karen (or similar) getting on someone to "speak english/go back to your country/etc," I'm just going to go up to them and just shout at them in German. If there's anything that will set someone straight, it's very angry, loudly shouted German.

Actually had a run in with “Downtown Karen” when I was with one of my friends. My friend, Amelia (then starting to and now unfortunately nearing full blindness) and I were working out her screen reader. Karen came over complaining that we were being loud and there was no need for everyone around us to hear whatever private phone ‘conversation” we were having. We calmly explained the situation and she kept reprimanding us as if we were speaking at the top of our lungs and actually causing a disruption. Someone finally approached us after we got up to leave and she continued to follow. This kind person finally managed to get her away from us, still ranting, even though I did catch her give us a bitter glare as they walked away.
I think she just harasses people for fun, like “hmm I can’t find a real reason to ruin someone’s day so I’m gonna find someone and then Harris them for a stupid reason” sorry to hear you had to go through that, she should be arrested

I took advantage of having the park to myself and she kept saying the skate park was closed, even though there's no gate, and the park lights up at night. She even called the cops and the cops took my side. They threatened to arrest her after she threatened to snap my board

I'm 17 and a Karen approached my friends and me at the park, she started to comment about how we were loud and that we were swearing too much (I'm pretty sure we only said like a max of 3 swear words and they weren't even that bad) we simply ignored her and, trying to be the bigger person(s), we asked her to leave us alone. She did not like being ignored and got in my face, screaming at me a bunch of crap that wasn't true so I screamed back at her and she was stunned. Then she put her hands on me, just a slight shove, and I almost got in a fistfight with this 40 or 50-year-old woman. Good thing my friends called the cops. She only got probation and a restraining order made by all of my friends and me.
What a sad sad person. It's good thing you didn't actually beat up that wretched bitch because then you'd been in trouble too. Yeah, it's annoying and being bigger person is hard AF , esp in the moment, but most of the time, it's just not worth the trouble(so you just ignore, ie bigger person).

Not only is she endangering the dog, but any driver who might swerve to miss the dog and cause an accident is endangered by what she is doing. She could then be sued and maybe even be convicted for causing an accident under the law. Her actions are not just disgusting and rude but dangerous. What if the gentleman on the skateboard fell and hurt himself badly. She could be held responsible for that. Just something for her future victims to keep in mind.

My dog is a service dog that mitigates for my disability. If my dog is on a leash my dog could get seriously injured and can't do her job.
You are 100% correct even though I live in a different state but I also do my research in New York City state law penal code 353 any Act of animal cruelty will be charged even though the small K9 wasn't on a leash but the lady was in the wrong for doing that to intentionally the K9 into running traffic animal cruelty of intentionally to killing or injury to the owners pet.
Having a dog off a leash just set the precedent for other people to do the same thing.
What disability do you have that your dog can't be on a leash? certainly a leash would keep your *service dog* closer to you.

I'll tell you anyways, the reason she's off leash the majority of the time is because one: I have pots which is a heart condition that will lead to you passing out. Two: she does mobility work too. I have a hard time with feeling in one of my legs that lead me to fall a lot too even with the Counterbalance handle on her harness. That's why
If on a leash I could break a leg because the leash would be in the way if I fell. Two I can choke her and cause trachea damage if passed out with her on a leash. Three if I got serious injured, she would need to get a person and a leash would once again prevent her if I fell on it. So it's very important for her to be off leash trained. We have neighbours who let their dogs roam around in front of their house and the way that the estate works you have to go past their house no matter what. And these dogs would try to attack me and other members of my family when we went on walks with our dog. Last week they managed to bite our dog and he had to be put down. KEEP DOGS ON A LEASH

Pepper spray is a good, non-lethal deterrent to aggressive dogs like that. Make sure you get the kind with the nozzle that sprays in a thin jet instead of the fog, so you don't end up hitting yourself with it.

I’m surprised she still has a job. If I was her employer and knew of her behaviour towards others I think she would be emptying out her locker pretty quickly. And why the hatred of Asian people? Every single Asian person I have ever met has been super - polite, charming, intelligent, hard-working and friendly. In fact all the qualities that this woman lacks.

The whole thing about dogs on a leash is so important for those of us who use service animals. The number of off leash dogs that have bitten my dog or attempted to is ridiculous.
I do agree that dogs should be leashed because if I had a dog I would be terrified of something happening to him or her.

Its already happened to me 3 times since the mandates have been lifted. Only one of them was a freak out though. Lady wanted help to her car with her groceries, but wouldnt let me help without a mask on, told her I wasn't required to wear one because I've been vaccinated. She yelled "I don't care I want you to have a mask on!" So I laughed told her she can just help herself to the car then, she said let me talk to your manager. And i said "lady, your looking at him you don't be rude and yell at people and expect to get your way. It didn't work in elementary school, and it doesn't work in real life." Then she said she was gonna have her husband come and beat my ass, and destroyed a display, so I had police come and remove her from the premises and she is no longer allowed to shop here.

Caesar Milan used to walk up to 40 other people's dogs with none on a leash. "It's not the dog it's the person." But regardless, if you proclaim to an owner that their dog isn't as "trained" as YOU think it ought to be, that would just confirm your inexperience with the species. It would make you the Karen... or maybe her younger slightly hotter sister... a Khloe perhaps.
Although I agree mostly with you, it doesn't take away his point unexpected things might happen and the dog has an unexpected reaction.
I remember the last dog my parents owned. When she was about 10 she snapped at a man on a bike. She never did that before. He drove by. She looked at him and tried to bite him. She did not go after him. She was one of the most mellow dogs I ever knew. And when I told my parents we all agreed that person probably did something to her and she remembered.
A dog should not be allowed off of the leash except for in appropriate areas. YOUR dog may be well trained, but several of the dogs I've rehabbed were severely dog aggressive. Even if your dog is well behaved, it's for its own safety and for the safety of other animals. It takes no extra effort to train your dog to behave on a leash.
I'm not arguing against leashes. Just that telling someone you don't know anything about will make you a Khloe.
