For all those watching the new updates have completely changed the way the system operates and you can change all the bike modes on the fly in the first three modes, as long as the throttle input is zero. Separately, the star button is a shortcut the user can present to suit themselves. The new interface and the like have completely changed this bike and user interface to be 100% better than before and puts the bike twice the price to shame. KTM engine & frame with brand name components seems like a good thing. An owner would soon get used to the dash controls ie riding modes etc. Unlike the 800 Vstrom and Transalp it has cruise & tubeless tyres so while not as off-road focused it sounds pretty good for me.
I got the limited when it came out in the first gen and im rapt. If they bring her out with the same colour i might trade her in. And becausr of the value, i could afford to put some Shinko's on it, plus a heap of fruit from cfmoto and it still came in umder $16500 12 months ago. The fuelling was fixed with a bit of alteration in the airbox and a throttle reset. Only thing i wish my first gen had was switchable abs. Of course theres a fix for that in the forums as well. Great review guys, i winced when i first seen the alert for the review, thinking here goes another bashing, but a great honest review i reckon.
Just saw this at my local dealer yesterday here in the Phoenix area. Wouldn’t trade my GS 850 for it, but it appeared to be fairly well built and many features reminded me of my GS. Interested to hear the review.
@@MyRandomLife247 Yeah, I'll have to step up to the 1250/1300 to get the purebred. The other day was my first hands-on with CF and it was better than expected.
Great video and bike! I am very disappointed they didn't do the low side fuel tanks. I think the KTM adv with saddle tanks makes so much sense for an adv bike. As long as there is a really stout bask plate protection front, sides, and bottom it can be designed to protect your feet as well as get the weight much closer to the center of the bike. That makes it easier to pick up to which is important for us, uh, mature riders.
@@ogasi1798 That's excellent! Hopefully the bikes will get the required emissions certificates soon and can be sold in the US. Oh, and set up a distribution warehouse loaded with bikes and parts to supply all the dealers they will need.

Great review has opened my eyes at looking at the Explore .... One big question is not bike related but outfit related and was wondering have you done or now where to watch good reviews on Adventure jackets and pants
Does anyone know if the this iteration, (Explore model) will be available in N. America? I was lucky enough to take and Ibex 800 T (what CF Moto is calling the MT in N. America) at a recent bike rally and instantly fell in love. It had all the features here with the exception of some of the tech options, i.e. no TC, ABS not switchable, only 2 ride modes and limited connectivity options with your phone. Also, sat-nav was only available through the CF Moto app and only route guidance on the TFT, no map.Oh, and none of the lane departure/collision alert tech. Like I said, I fell in love with it during my test ride but would be putting a down payment on one today if it had these extras. Thanks for such a genuine and informative review. Keep the shiny side up and all the best from 🇨🇦
Nice review as always boys. I was interested in the Explore specs, I've got the 800MT Touring and I love mine, even with all those extra ride modes! It's a cracking platform and very stable. Was up in the Bright/Porepunkah area on the weekend and had a ball. Poor old CRF300 Rally rooster had to sit in the shed, needed those grip and seat heaters!
bought it a month ago, Explore and white, the same of this video. What can I say? Top confort for conductor and pillion, Air protection increasable: just bought a +5 cm tall screen because of air turbulence on the upper part of helmet. About performance I didn't yet tested 100% because still in break-in range. Anakee adventure tyres are very "glued" at ground, but very, very noisy at cornering. Hope this will end while riding a lot. Voice command I think based on SIRI platform, and only in english at the moment (I'm italian and is not a problem to give voice command in english, but it's just for better perfection :))). Blood ktm and great torque. I'm sure will have much fun. Great purchase!
This new generation of CFMoto units are very surprising I have had KTM and BMW that were plagued with technical problems and build quality issues this bike while not perfect is one of the best options for someone who just wants something off the showroom floor and to not have to change anything other than sport exhaust
having a hard time between this and a Norden....especially if I can get an expedition 901. But the savings is really outstanding....thanks for the run thru. Cheers!
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Ended up getting a great deal on a leftover Suzuki 800DE adventure with the hardbags, bars and bash plate. Thank you on the wonderful review on that machine. Cheers!
Can you disable abs in raer but kerp it in front? That bike is good but that ride mode change is too complicated, hope that will be change via software update.
Don't want to pick holes in what appears to be a great value for money package, but what is the rear collision sensor going to do? You don't have a reverse gear so either you're rolling back (probably not very quickly) or something is about to hit you and you can't do anything about it? I get the blind spot for lane changing but a collision sensor is very strange.
Im 5ft9 and took the 800mt S model out for a test ride, and found the buffeting pretty bad. It needs a clip on on top of the standard screen. But i agree on the ergonomics, super comfortable. Lovely note from the exhaust. Almost as good as a GS. my arse was on fire from the no. 2 setting on the seat. A great bike overall for the money
I just bought a 21 model 800mt, has 12000ks with all the extras, guy who bought it new found it to big and didnt use it,,i got it for under 10k, i wanted a cheaper bike for adventure touring, (didnt want to take my Multistrada off road) , i put a set of pirelli str,s on and some soft luggage.. I am super impressed , anyone looking for an adv bike should seriously consider one of these,, and the (aw its built in china club) , need to get over it, cf is partly owned by ktm and have been building bikes for ktm for over 10yrs,, iv had several adv bikes inc a klr,18 vstrom, 650gs bmw ,, this thing eats them all.. great review i was that excited too after i rode it home from the gold coast to Kilcoy,

When were were in Harvey WA for the #A4DE, there's a local riding school instructor who uses the road version of this bike for his daily driver with students. As for the 4-wheelers, they race out the door; can't keep up with the sales.
I'm impressed with your review. You guys review all the best bikes, all the expensive stuff and you still reviewed this and were impressed. I drive a Colove 500X and just love it! but because it's Chinese no one is interested! Good job!
Still running my one in, on question this shows no tire pressure? does yours and if so where are the pressure sensors? I would have thought the valve caps but no
Got to have 21/18 for decent tyre choice, needs a big turn off stay off button for all that tech crap and I wonder if the cams are going to fail like the 790/890's. I like the price, spoke wheels and heated stuff.
Hope this model hits the states. We don’t yet have this model. The 800 T doesnt get the 8 inch display, off road modes, traction control, and rear radar and blind spot monitoring. Love the value this provides. Don’t have great suspension travel but other than that it’s a 10 outta 10
Hi MAD,Tv. Looks like Xmas is going to fun, just waiting for the Benelli 800/x to come out, the 500x was good but needed more power for me, test rode the mt800 before and after the tune/fuelling issue, and loved it but was sceptical on the reliability of a new model/bike. Forget what the bikes got the enthusiasm will sell this machine. Thanks once again for pleasuring me again...lol.
Hi appreciate all the great info on your bike reviews I'm very interested in this explore model got a vstrom 650xt 2020 considering 800DE but with all the value this bike I'm tempted. One question do you think it would comfortability make it to Arkaroola ive done most of flinders on vstrom just not the Samuel track or skytrek i want a bike that can do a bit more. This may be a more top heavy and struggle with slow stuff. I also watched your reviews on suzuki and transalp out of all three which would do the mt Samuel track in Flinders or skytrek if you're familiar with these tracks thanks
Yes thanks ridden xr400 for 8 years off road on loads of tracks around Alice Springs I'm ok off road. But obviously any biker bike a different story off road. I'm 118kg 6ft so are you guys doing an in-depth review on the explore model. As Clubby say is it able to get to Arkaroola what's your say thanks. Plan to test 800DE and transalp
Interesting review. I test rode a 650 Adventura this week and I was surprised at the good power, but the fueling is not good. Let off the gas and it feels like the brakes are on, and then lightly twist the throttle and it jerks ahead -- pretty much impossible to be smooth in that transition. My '21 Suzuki Van Van 200 has a similar feeling, but because of the much smaller engine capacity, it's not as problematic. And on a partly cloudy day, I was riding north with sun behind me and the display was completely washed out -- I could see nothing. These kinds of things should be handled through validation testing at the manufacturer, and the fact that they weren't leads me to believe that there are probably other components that weren't fully tested. As the reviewer stated, the buyer can save thousands of dollars in purchase price compared to the Japanese or European branded bikes if you're willing to accept sacrifices both in ownership satisfaction and in resale value.
if this price was in my country :( but is 4,5k AUD more. It's T7 teritory, transalp, Suzuki 800DE etc. for 4-5k AUD more you got Tiger900, KTM890, Norden 901 expedition.
Given a bit more time, if it proves reliable and the after sales service holds up, I’d be happy to pay a bit more and buy one. But right now I’m sus! I can’t see how they can do all this to a high level of quality for that price and I understand off shore manufacturing. Keeps the market place very honest though and I am staying open minded. Great review guys 👏🏽
Part of how they do it is making it themselves, so many others pay companies like CFMoto to build them bikes or components and then need to make their networks money
It's not magic....... They are a Chinese manufacturer - with a home population of 1.2 billion people - they make a lot of everything - plus cheap wages (in comparison to most countries).
Seems CFMOTO really pose an aggressive price strategy, trying to grab a large piece of the pie of lucrative adv bike market. The only concern for this product might be of its assembly quality control. KTM (as well as most Europe bikes) has already gained no upper hand in the reliability competition with Japan brands. A "Chinese-made" KTM might further amplify such concern and need a long time to establish its reputation as a solid product. A three-year unlimited Kms warranty like Royal Enfield promised to its Himalayan and interceptor may be a good initiative to lay such consideration into rest.
Just bought a new 2022 ktm 890 Adventure R and with this found loose bolts and the motor running on one cylinder. The most unreliable part for this bike will be the ktm motor and the cam issue, unless this has been sorted. For adventure being dirt roads and back roads this bike is a bargin. I'm waiting for someone to import the Kove 450 Rally which has, todate been getting very good reviews.
If only 21" for off road. I would happily pay more for 21" front wheel and 18" rear, but I don't think this bike is designed for serious off road as there also is no compression adjustment for the rear suspension.
I've been looking for a bike to start riding. I want an adventure/touring bike so I was thinking the Norden 901 or the 890 adventure r, but buying a 15000 USD bike to learn on seemed crazy. So I think this is the one
Learning ADV is most likely best on a 650 single or less to be frank. Get a second hand bike at a very reasonable price, most likely already set up and go ride it. If you haven't ridden much dirt the last thing you need is a bike that weighs more than 200 kgs.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV I was thinking a bigger bike because I'm a literal giant I'm 6ft 5inch and 250 lbs. I completely understand what you are saying maybe I'll pick up a used DRZ or something similar

What does the 800 Explore appear to be a copy of? China is notorious for copying specific models. Is the engine a KTM design that is manufactured in China? Is this bike available in the US with a dealer network, and what is CF Moto's overall reputation as a company?
It's not a copy of anything, but does have the old KTM790 engine, and, or, similar version. CF Moto make a lot of farm machinery that I stand corrected but I think is well regarded.

KTM engine & frame with brand name components seems like a good thing. An owner would soon get used to the dash controls ie riding modes etc. Unlike the 800 Vstrom and Transalp it has cruise & tubeless tyres so while not as off-road focused it sounds pretty good for me.
Yes does sound very good.
Does it have KTM engine or KTM has its engine
Rob, we sit as we see it and say it as we see it.
Just saw this at my local dealer yesterday here in the Phoenix area. Wouldn’t trade my GS 850 for it, but it appeared to be fairly well built and many features reminded me of my GS. Interested to hear the review.
I'm not going to review Nicolas. Clubby will have a review in Australian Adventure Bike Magazine
The 850 engine is made by Loncin which is Chinese FYI 🤣
@@MyRandomLife247 Yeah, I'll have to step up to the 1250/1300 to get the purebred. The other day was my first hands-on with CF and it was better than expected.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Sounds good, thanks for bringing us first impression!
A fair bit lighter than the bMW.
Great point!
2024 has them and lots of other nice to haves
@@ogasi1798 That's excellent! Hopefully the bikes will get the required emissions certificates soon and can be sold in the US. Oh, and set up a distribution warehouse loaded with bikes and parts to supply all the dealers they will need.
Amazing review. We want part 2 please....
Saw this bike in New Mexico two weeks ago with full luggage. A very nivce looking bike. TFT display was nice.
I rode the Kove at the Giant Loop Rally this past weekend.
It's a Chinese motorcycle that impressed the Hell out of me. I felt that I could almost replace both my 890 Adventure S and my 501 with small concessions made in the toughest single track or long distance pavement rides at top speed.
Australia? Are they coming
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV This was at the GL rally in Oregon USA.
Talking to the reps, they are still establishing their network of dealerships over here.
I’m not sure where they stand on Australia yet.
@@pinkiewerewolf did you ride the Kove X-CAPE?
@@jeremyjohnson6438 It was a 450 Rally that they had at the Giant Loop Rally in Oregon.
Keep the shiny side up and all the best from 🇨🇦
Thank you
Unfortunately it does not seem the states will get the explorer model with the 6 ride modes.
Thanks Craig
bought it a month ago, Explore and white, the same of this video.
Thanks Ric
This new generation of CFMoto units are very surprising I have had KTM and BMW that were plagued with technical problems and build quality issues this bike while not perfect is one of the best options for someone who just wants something off the showroom floor and to not have to change anything other than sport exhaust
Good job Andrew and Dave. Interesting and fun
Thanks Sam
having a hard time between this and a Norden....especially if I can get an expedition 901. But the savings is really outstanding....thanks for the run thru. Cheers!
I too am struggling with this scenario! the coolness of the Norden, but the money saving of the CF Moto is insane!
You really need a clear understanding of what you want from your bike.
Same here lol, I keep spamming norden and cfmoto videos. Have you decided on something yet? Can you tell me what you think of the bike you got?
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Ended up getting a great deal on a leftover Suzuki 800DE adventure with the hardbags, bars and bash plate. Thank you on the wonderful review on that machine. Cheers!
Can you disable abs in raer but kerp it in front? That bike is good but that ride mode change is too complicated, hope that will be change via software update.
And what about weight?
How does it compare to the Nordon expedition?
Don't want to pick holes in what appears to be a great value for money package, but what is the rear collision sensor going to do? You don't have a reverse gear so either you're rolling back (probably not very quickly) or something is about to hit you and you can't do anything about it? I get the blind spot for lane changing but a collision sensor is very strange.
I don't mind it and Clubby experienced it first hand and thought it was good
love the review, but... super keen for you to review the cf moto 450 mt when it get here for sure 🙂
Fingers crossed!
Best review yet
Realy glade for clubby exciting enthusiastic talk..he surely thrilled with this one compare the price..
Yeah a very solid price.
A great bike overall for the money
we agree
I just bought a 21 model 800mt, has 12000ks with all the extras, guy who bought it new found it to big and didnt use it,,i got it for under 10k, i wanted a cheaper bike for adventure touring, (didnt want to take my Multistrada off road) , i put a set of pirelli str,s on and some soft luggage.. I am super impressed , anyone looking for an adv bike should seriously consider one of these,, and the (aw its built in china club) , need to get over it, cf is partly owned by ktm and have been building bikes for ktm for over 10yrs,, iv had several adv bikes inc a klr,18 vstrom, 650gs bmw ,, this thing eats them all.. great review i was that excited too after i rode it home from the gold coast to Kilcoy,
Yes a good bike at a cracking price.
Awesome review. I just bought the same one, but in black. I love it. I'm 175cm and find it abit to tall for me. But I love it. Amazing value for what your getting. And the ride is very nice. Thanks for the review well done.
Thanks for reaching out
I’m 172 cm with 79 cm inseam. I’m still going for this bike, just hoping I don’t regret it.
I need this model to come to the US! It looks like an excellent choice in the market currently.
Awesome looking bike saw one at the Ktm / Harley dealership at Moree , looked petty trick in the flesh
Nice one
When were were in Harvey WA for the #A4DE, there's a local riding school instructor who uses the road version of this bike for his daily driver with students.
As for the 4-wheelers, they race out the door; can't keep up with the sales.
I'm impressed with your review. You guys review all the best bikes, all the expensive stuff and you still reviewed this and were impressed. I drive a Colove 500X and just love it! but because it's Chinese no one is interested! Good job!
Thanks
Still running my one in, on question this shows no tire pressure? does yours and if so where are the pressure sensors? I would have thought the valve caps but no
A long time ago my friend. Sorry can't help.
Looks like the Africa twin electrics pack , looks a cracking bike to be honest .
Got to have 21/18 for decent tyre choice, needs a big turn off stay off button for all that tech crap and I wonder if the cams are going to fail like the 790/890's. I like the price, spoke wheels and heated stuff.
Time will tell. but you have the backing of a 3 year warranty.
i have to agree with you on the value for the money i have been looking at the voge 525dsx and cf motos
Is that Clubby’s 120 Prado? Looks identical to ours! Even a 4L petrol.
There you go
Great Video! Is there a way to see trip 1 or trip 2 kms instead of ODO in the main screen? Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
Yes
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Thanks for your reply, have you found out how? I am trying to do it without luck
Hope this model hits the states. We don’t yet have this model. The 800 T doesnt get the 8 inch display, off road modes, traction control, and rear radar and blind spot monitoring. Love the value this provides. Don’t have great suspension travel but other than that it’s a 10 outta 10
Interesting value bike
Already has. It is marketed as the CFMOTO IBEX 800 tourer in the US
So.. Where does Bandit sit?
Thanks for the great video! One question: any vibration in the handlebars / footpegs?
Not that I know of
Thank you for watching
Hi appreciate all the great info on your bike reviews I'm very interested in this explore model got a vstrom 650xt 2020 considering 800DE but with all the value this bike I'm tempted. One question do you think it would comfortability make it to Arkaroola ive done most of flinders on vstrom just not the Samuel track or skytrek i want a bike that can do a bit more. This may be a more top heavy and struggle with slow stuff. I also watched your reviews on suzuki and transalp out of all three which would do the mt Samuel track in Flinders or skytrek if you're familiar with these tracks thanks
It's very dependant on your skill for those tracks.
Yep
it has everything, this bike has all bells and whistles!
sure does
At around 160cm in height, do you think the motorbike is suitable for me, or should I consider the 650MT instead?
I idea. You’ll have to go and sit on it
I'll have to buy one now 👍
How hard is it to clean or change the air filter ? Thanks guys
No idea.
Is that the same as the ibex?
One thing I want to know is the service intervals?
Sorry look it up
15000kms the book says
Is there another review on this coming up? Deciding on this or the new 450.....but the whole Chinese thing is still a worry
Get used to it. What about the filipines or Thailand.
Look forward to future updates. Lots of the online reviews trash the bikes and the brand with lots of issues.
I'm not sure we'll be back for some time.
Yes time will tell.
I work for a CFMoto dealer, we've sold quite a few 800MTs and in all honesty they have been trouble free and super reliable, take one for test ride!
I’m looking at a Tiger 900. Did Triumph copy the CFmoto 800?
No!
A bike like this starts to shine the holes in the BMW GS at the price.
Not having Apple Car Play on the GS shits me to tears in this day and age.
This CF has got a very broad range of benefits.
Airfilter location ?
If i get a brand new bike probably will buy this but my fjr 1300 2002 doing great
Seems CFMOTO really pose an aggressive price strategy, trying to grab a large piece of the pie of lucrative adv bike market.
That's putting your money where you mouth is.
Wow, this seems great! Adaptive cruise control or regular style?
Not sure.
Regular
hey I resemble that DR650 remark LOL thanks for the review.
No problem!
That’s a great review, what’s the gear clubbys wearing!!!
I'll get him to respond I have no idea
Lovely riding gear sir
Thanks ✌️
I just booked mine yesterday I am the 20th in the list 😢😢 let's wait😅😅 came from a ninja 400 to the MT finally something that suits my size😂😂
Żeby mieć bmw z tym wyposażeniem nawet nie warto wspominać o różnicy w cenie.. nie zależnie od kraju. Świetny materiał!
I was going to buy a 2022 Nordon expedition, but this for 1200 euro more makes more sence, taughts.
Awesome review on the bike what I would like to know more about parts and the availability of parts in Australia being a Chinese bike
There are lots of bikes made in China now. It would surprise you.
Yes the Kove is getting a lot of attention
If only 21" for off road.
I would happily pay more for 21" front wheel and 18" rear, but I don't think this bike is designed for serious off road as there also is no compression adjustment for the rear suspension.
Good point
U sold me mate. Looking at adv bike.. This is right in my price range.
For many rides in Australia it would be great.
And a ktm engine right.?
Im in Canada...this could be my next bike...mmm...next year😊
Certainly competitively priced.
A mate bought the old model for about $14.5k and I was thinking what do you get for an extra $2k?
It looks like you get about $5k extra for only $2k.
The CFm will Definitely be on the radar when I trade up the Wonky Donkey.
It looks decent, certainly for the price.

We actually ride the bikes many kilometres, which is novel on youtube, where 'commentators' talk of their experience.....riding it around the block.
Dang, this bike has all the big bike extras you could ever want!

OK :)
It's not available in the USA yet.
Nevermind the USA version is the CFMOTO IBEX 800 T
